Investing in My Harem in the Apocalypse Makes Me Stronger
Chapter 209: The Youngest Prince Stops Holding Back [GOLDEN TICKET BONUS]
For the first time since the battle began, Serath’s expression changed.
It was nothing dramatic, only a slight frown, but both Mo Xuanye and Ron noticed it immediately.
The Youngest Prince had clearly not expected one of the 3rd Echelons he had brought into the Corridor to die so quickly.
His crimson eyes moved toward the distant corpse before shifting to Elara, who had already retreated and begun her advancement.
"So they can actually do it."
There was no anger in Serath’s voice.
If anything, he sounded mildly surprised.
Viktor attacked before he could continue watching.
His fist tore toward Serath’s jaw with enough force to send a heavy pressure through the surrounding air, but Serath simply raised one arm to meet it.
BANG!
Their collision cracked the stone beneath them.
Mo Xuanye appeared at Serath’s side almost immediately afterward, two fingers thrusting toward the prince’s ribs as dense Heavenly Demon Qi gathered around them.
Serath twisted his body and narrowly avoided the attack.
Ron came from behind at the same moment.
Lightning surged around his spear as the blade shot toward Serath’s back, but the Youngest Prince shifted away before it could reach him.
The three humans continued pressing from different directions.
Viktor forced Serath to respond to his overwhelming physical attacks, Mo Xuanye constantly searched for an opening with his Demonic techniques, and Ron repeatedly moved in and out of striking range with his terrifying speed.
Serath finally stopped paying attention to the battles happening elsewhere.
His expression became more serious.
"It seems I need to take this a little more seriously." Mo Xuanye smiled faintly.
Dark energy began pouring from his body.
At first, it remained close to his skin, but the amount continued increasing until the surrounding air itself seemed to grow heavier.
Nether energy spread across the broken street beneath his feet.
Death energy mixed into it and quickly expanded farther outward.
The transformation of the battlefield did not stop around Serath as the dark energy flowed through nearby streets and around ruined buildings, spreading across the shattered intersections surrounding the central area.
Within moments, the entire battlefield had fallen beneath the influence of his Nether Emperor’s Domain skill.
Ron felt the effect immediately.
His expression changed slightly as the Mana circulating through his body became heavier and more difficult to control.
Even breathing felt less comfortable under the constant pressure.
Viktor’s body tensed.
Mo Xuanye looked around with interest as the concentration of Nether and Death energy continued increasing around them.
Serath stood calmly at the center of it all.
The difference became obvious immediately.
The Nether energy surrounding his body grew denser and more stable, while the shallow injuries left behind from their earlier exchanges began recovering noticeably faster.
His Mana was also replenishing at an accelerated rate.
Ron tightened his grip around his spear.
Lightning began spreading from the weapon as he prepared to respond by releasing Thunderstorm Domain.
Before he could do so, Mo Xuanye laughed softly.
Ron glanced toward him.
The Heavenly Demon had raised one hand.
Black Qi circulated around his body.
Then the Nether energy filling the battlefield began to move toward him.
Serath’s eyes immediately lit up.
Mo Xuanye activated Heaven-Devouring Demonic Art.
The dense foreign energy saturating the area began flowing into his body.
The amount was small at first, but the pull quickly became stronger.
Streams of Nether energy twisted toward Mo Xuanye from across the surrounding battlefield, dragging portions of the Death energy mixed throughout the Domain along with them.
Everything that entered his body was immediately refined by the Heavenly Demon True Body.
His cultivation method responded naturally as the foreign power was purified and converted into nourishment for his Heavenly Demon Qi.
The oppressive pressure surrounding Mo Xuanye stabilized rather than increasing.
Serath stopped attacking.
The seriousness that had briefly appeared in his expression disappeared, replaced once again by obvious interest.
"You can absorb Nether energy?"
"I guess so?" Mo Xuanye shrugged.
Serath studied him for a moment.
Then, as if he had completely forgotten that he had just declared his intention to take the fight more seriously, a smile appeared on his face.
"Do you want to become my subordinate too?"
Ron looked at Serath.
Then at Mo Xuanye.
His expression became incredulous.
"Are you fucking recruiting people even in the middle of a fight?"
Serath ignored him completely.
Mo Xuanye raised an eyebrow as he had not expected the offer either.
Naturally, he noticed the difference between his invitation and Cain’s.
Cain had been offered the position of Serath’s right hand.
Mo Xuanye was merely being invited to serve beneath him.
That did not bother the Heavenly Demon in the slightest as he found the entire situation amusing instead.
A genuine laugh escaped him.
"Show me what you’ve got first."
Mo Xuanye looked directly at Serath as his smile widened.
"If your strength is actually on par with your arrogance, I’ll consider it."
For less than a second, Serath simply stared at him.
Then loud laughter erupted across the battlefield.
"Hahahahaha!"
He raised one hand and covered part of his face.
The dark Domain continued spreading around them as Serath’s laughter echoed through the ruined streets.
"I really didn’t expect this."
His laughter gradually subsided.
"A backwater world that has barely awakened..."
Serath lowered his hand.
"And yet two of you have already spoken to me like this."
Ron watched the two of them, his eyes narrowed.
Neither one was paying attention to him.
Perfect.
Lightning exploded beneath his feet and he vanished from his place.
A bluish-white streak curved around Serath before Ron reappeared directly behind him, his spear already moving toward the prince’s back.
The attack was much faster than the earlier one.
Ron had approached from Serath’s blind spot and committed enough Lightning to turn the thrust into something that even a strong 3rd Echelon would struggle to defend against.
Serath did not turn around as his laughter had not even completely stopped.
However, something changed beneath his white clothing.
Dark scales rapidly spread across his arms and legs as the power of the Abyssal Dragon Bloodline erupted through his body.
The transformation continued upward.
Dense scales covered his chest beneath the clothes and spread across his shoulders and upper back. Curved horns emerged from his head, followed by an armored tail that extended behind him.
Ron’s spear struck his back.
CLANG!
His eyes widened.
Lightning exploded from the spearhead and crawled violently across the dark scales.
He believed that the thrust carried enough force to pierce through the defenses of most 3rd Echelons they had encountered.
But against Serath, the blade only left a shallow scratch.
"What the fuck..."
The armored tail moved.
Unfortunately for Ron, he barely saw it.
The thick limb swept sideways and slammed directly into his ribs.
BANG!
A cracking sound came from inside his body.
Ron disappeared from beside Serath, but not because of his own will as he had simply been thrown away.
His body crossed dozens of meters before smashing through the remains of a ruined wall and crashing into the street beyond it.
Blood spilled from his mouth.
Several ribs had fractured from the impact, and pain spread violently across his side as he struggled to stop himself from rolling farther.
Serath finally stopped laughing.
The dark scales covering his transformed body reflected faint light as he slowly turned his crimson eyes toward Mo Xuanye.
"I’ve been holding myself back since this fight started."
The pressure coming from him had completely changed.
"It seems that I need to show you guys just how large the difference between us actually is."
His voice became colder.
"You’d better show me your strength."
Then Serath smiled viciously.
"Otherwise, your arrogance is going to get you killed."
