Inside the hall, the scent of gunpowder and death mixed, pungent and foul.

Ji Siyu looked at the man who stood stubbornly upright against the many powerful foes, her heart twisting like a knife.

Tears blurred her vision.

Her voice was choked with an unprecedented plea: "Chen Chuan... go! Leave quickly! Don’t worry about me anymore!"

Chen Chuan struggled to lift his head, his pale face pulling into a nearly roguish yet incredibly determined smile.

His voice was raspy, but it reached Ji Siyu’s ears clearly:

"Go?"

"Leave you here alone to face this pack of wolves? That’s not something a husband can do."

He took a deep breath, as if using all his strength, and slowly stood straight.

Though swaying, he stood like an insurmountable mountain blocking the front of the altar.

"I, Chen Chuan, might not be a good person, but I will never abandon my woman."

His gaze swept across the predatory Jun Wuya and the others, finally settling on Ji Siyu’s tear-streaked face.

His tone carried an almost arrogant tenderness:

"Today, we either leave here alive together, or... I will die here with you."

"Anyway, dying together with you doesn’t seem like a loss, does it?"

These words were half-true and half-false.

The truth was his intention to protect her; the false part was having a little ulterior motive regarding Ji Siyu.

The Resurrection Card he had just purchased lay quietly, giving him unscrupulous confidence.

Death?

It was just a rather realistic experience; three days later, he would be a hero again.

Of course, the effect of this affectionate confession was also calculated.

Chen Chuan could see the Soul Fire in Ji Siyu’s Soul Sea, which was her own Aura.

Meanwhile, another massive, cold consciousness was only temporarily suppressed.

He wanted the rift in Ji Siyu’s heart, potentially caused by the Ice Phoenix Divine Emperor’s Legacy, to be completely washed away by more intense emotions.

Chen Chuan worried that if the Ice Phoenix Divine Emperor woke up, it would make Ji Siyu forget the pain and love of this moment.

Hearing this, Ji Siyu’s tears gushed out like a broken dam.

He could clearly leave, yet for her sake, he was willing to face death.

This affection was so heavy it broke Ji Siyu’s heart, and it also made her hate her own powerlessness, hating that she had become a burden to him.

The two had just reconciled and made up; were they really going to be separated by Yin and Yang in the blink of an eye?

"Hmph! What a pair of tragic lovers!"

Jun Wuya swallowed a shimmering Medicinal Pill.

A hint of color returned to his pale face, and a sliver of spiritual power grew within his depleted body.

Also taking Medicinal Pills and barely suppressing their injuries, Ao Lie and Feng Qinger approached step by step:

"Unfortunately, neither of you will live today!"

The three great experts radiated killing intent; though the Sacred Artifacts’ light was dim, their residual power remained, enough to slay the currently exhausted Chen Chuan.

However, just as they were about to strike, a mocking curve appeared at the corner of Chen Chuan’s mouth.

With a flick of his wrist, a dragon-eye-sized Medicinal Pill emitting boundless Life Qi and vast spiritual power appeared in his hand.

It was a Sacred Pill!

He swallowed the Sacred Pill without hesitation.

Boom!

Like rain after a long drought, his parched Meridians were instantly filled with surging spiritual power.

His withered Aura climbed at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Although far from the Peak state of the trial card, he had recovered about thirty to forty percent of his strength.

"A Sacred Pill!"

The expressions of Jun Wuya’s group changed drastically; their forward momentum came to a jarring halt, their eyes filled with shock and suspicion.

Just how many trump cards does this guy have?

"Fellow Daoists, what are you waiting for?"

Ao Lie’s dragon eyes widened as he shouted sternly:

"He is at the end of his rope; he just relied on a Sacred Pill to forcibly recover some spiritual power."

"Attack together, kill him, and we will split the Divine Pills equally."

"Exactly! No matter how strong he is, can he stop all of us?" Feng Qinger’s voice was cold.

She incited the Transcendence Realm Cultivators who were heavily injured but still harbored fantasies about the Divine Pills.

Under great reward, there will be brave men, not to mention Chen Chuan’s current state was indeed worrisome.

In the eyes of the remaining ten-plus Transcendence Realm Cultivators, greed once again overcame fear as they gathered their spiritual power and slowly surrounded him.

Seeing the crowd once again intending to besiege Chen Chuan, Ji Siyu’s beautiful eyes on the altar were instantly filled with endless cold killing intent.

Her voice was like ten-thousand-year-old ice, carrying a Soul-shuddering determination that echoed in every corner of the hall:

"If you dare kill him! I, Ji Siyu, swear here that in this life, I will wash you and the Sects and clans behind you in blood! It will be a fight to the death!"

Her threat carried intense hatred and madness.

However, to Jun Wuya and the others, this threat seemed incredibly laughable.

"Hahaha! An ant who barely reached the Void Breaking Realm by relying on a Legacy dares to speak so arrogantly?" Jun Wuya sneered:

"Once Chen Chuan is dead, you’re next! Do you think we’ll leave any future troubles behind?"

The crowd no longer hesitated and rushed toward Chen Chuan.

"Do you really think I, the Dragon Lord, am just a decoration?"

Ao Kun endured the internal injuries from the aftershocks of the Four-Colored Fire Lotus and braced itself to step forward and help.

In its heart, however, it was wailing:

"Oh, my dragon mother, I’m afraid I’m going to meet my end here."

"Big brother, you have to hold on, otherwise the Dragon Lord’s meager assets will really be lost."

Facing the surging attacks once more, a look of ruthlessness flashed in Chen Chuan’s eyes.

He raised his hands again; though his spiritual power was far less than before, the four types of Heaven and Earth Spiritual Fires still stubbornly emerged.

"Again?" someone screamed in terror.

"He’s crazy! Retreat quickly!"

However, the distance was too close and the attacks had already been launched; it was too late to retreat.

Chen Chuan’s face grew even paler, and a trickle of blood even leaked from the corner of his mouth; clearly, forcibly activating the Four-Colored Fire Lotus was a massive burden on him.

But his gaze remained cold as he struggled to bring his hands together.

Boom!

Another Four-Colored Fire Lotus, several times smaller and with much dimmer light, took shape.

But the destructive power contained within was still fatal for the currently heavily injured Jun Wuya and the others.

The fire lotus floated out and exploded violently the moment it collided with the countless attacks!

"No!"

Screams rang out again.

This time, the explosion’s range was much smaller and its power was reduced, but it was still the last straw that broke the camel’s back.

Those already heavily injured Transcendence Realm Cultivators turned to ash one after another in the terrifying flame storm.
