Chapter 92: Chapter 92: Revenge Is Our New Language

The question immediately changed the atmosphere. Even after everything she had endured, Helena’s hatred for the people responsible remained intense.

She despised Adrian Sinclair and Franklin Sinclair for their cruelty.

But what angered her even more was the indifference shown by the family’s elders, who had allowed such things to happen without intervening.

Her husband had devoted his life to the Sinclair family.

As its head, he had always placed the family’s interests before his own, working tirelessly to protect its reputation and future.

Yet when tragedy struck, the family had repaid that loyalty with betrayal. Her husband was dead, and their daughter had been left to suffer alone.

How could Helena possibly forgive them?

Mira’s expression grew solemn.

"Mom, I don’t intend to let them get away with what they’ve done," she said, pausing to gather her thoughts before continuing.

"But I don’t want someone else to settle this on my behalf. When the time comes, I’ll confront the Sinclair family myself and demand an explanation for everything they’ve done to us."

Her voice was steady, and there was no hesitation in her eyes. She had already made up her mind. One day, she would make the Sinclair family answer for its actions.

Mira wanted to settle her grievances with the Sinclair family herself, but that would take time.

After all, George Sinclair, the family’s First Elder, had already reached the 8th-Level of the Spirit Platform Realm.

Even with her Frost Phoenix Bloodline, Mira doubted she could defeat him unless she advanced to at least the 5th-Level of the same realm.

However, if she wanted to make the Sinclair family pay right now, there was a much easier way.

She could simply call upon the forces supporting her. Arcadia Academy had already taken her side, and the Extraordinary Division was willing to stand up for her as well.

After everything the Sinclair family had done, both forces had sufficient reason to intervene.

If Mira asked Vice Principal Johnny and Minister Samuel Bush to step in, they would undoubtedly make the family regret its actions.

Even if the Sinclair family managed to secure the Lindsay family’s protection, it would hardly be enough to intimidate either Arcadia Academy or the Extraordinary Division.

After all, both institutions operated with the backing of the nation itself.

In Asterra, few forces could stand against the country’s authority.

Yet Mira had no intention of taking that route. Earlier that morning, when the Vice principal and Minister Bush had offered to visit the Sinclair family and demand an explanation, she had turned them down.

She had learned that Paul and Gerald Sinclair intended to abduct her by force, but even that had not changed her mind.

This was a debt she wanted to settle with her own hands. She wanted the day to come when she could stand before the people who had humiliated and abandoned her, strong enough to make them answer for everything they had done.

She wanted them to understand that she no longer needed anyone to fight her battles.

And she was certain that day would come sooner than they expected.

"All right. I will support you," Helena said, reaching out and gently squeezing her daughter’s hand. "Whatever you decide to do, I’ll stand by you."

What pleased her most was seeing the confidence Mira had once lost return to her eyes.

As she looked at her daughter, Helena was reminded of the young woman she had been six months ago, when she had possessed both exceptional talent and a future full of promise.

Life was unpredictable. Sometimes, misfortune came disguised as the beginning of something better.

The hardships of the past six months had taken much from Mira, but they had also helped her grow in ways Helena had never expected.

Despite everything she had endured, her daughter seemed to be finding her footing again.

As a mother, that was enough to make her happy.

"Now that I’ve told you everything about what happened to me, Mom, what about you?" Mira asked.

"What are you planning to do from now on?"

"Me?" Helena fell silent.

For a moment, uncertainty crossed her face. She had reached the peak of the Foundation Establishment Realm, yet she had rarely needed to make decisions about her own future.

When her husband had been alive, he had taken care of most things, whether they were important family matters or the ordinary details of daily life.

Now he was gone. Even after suffering serious injuries, she had forced herself to return to Valemont for one reason alone: she wanted to see her daughter, who had still been living under the Sinclair family’s roof. But she had finally found Mira, only to discover that her daughter had been cast out.

Fortunately, Mira seemed to be doing well. She had a husband who treated her well, a place to live, and the confidence to pursue her own goals.

Helena no longer needed to worry about whether her daughter could survive without the Sinclair family.

So what was left for her? Revenge.

She would cultivate harder and rebuild her strength.

One day, she would avenge her husband and make those responsible pay for his death.

But that was not something she wanted to burden Mira with just yet.

Her daughter already had enough grievances to settle. There was no need to add her mother’s hatred to the weight she carried.

After a brief pause, Helena smiled.

"I suppose I’ll focus on living a peaceful life and taking care of my grandchildren when they arrive," she said.

Mira’s face turned bright red.

"Grandchildren? Mom, I haven’t even thought about having children!" she protested.

Helena laughed at her daughter’s embarrassed expression.

"Your father and I didn’t plan for you either," she said.

"Then one day, I discovered I was pregnant, and there you were. Sometimes, these things happen before you have time to think them through."

"Mom!" Mira buried her burning face in her hands.

"Why are we even talking about this? It’s late. We should go to sleep!"

Her heart was beating so quickly that she could hardly look at her mother. She hurriedly pulled the blanket over herself, hoping that would put an end to the conversation.

It was not that she disliked the idea of having a child with Xavier.

In fact, the thought of building a family with him was not unpleasant at all. But they had not even had sex yet!

Besides, she was just eighteen. It felt like she was still too young to start giving birth to kids.

Still, once the thought had entered her mind, it refused to leave.

What would we name our child?

The question appeared out of nowhere, leaving Mira even more flustered.

She pulled the blanket over her head and tried to force herself to sleep, but her imagination had already begun wandering far beyond the conversation.

* * *

The following morning, just as the first hints of daylight appeared, Xavier woke to a strange sensation on his face.

Something wet had brushed against his cheek, and a warm presence lay beneath his blanket.

He opened his eyes. A large, snow white creature was curled up beside him, staring at him with a pair of amber eyes. Its fur was so immaculate that it almost looked as though it had been carved from white jade.

Xavier immediately recognized the little tiger he had brought out of the Hunting Ground Secret Realm. Snow was finally awake!

"Little fellow, you’ve finally decided to wake up!" Xavier’s spirits lifted.

He reached out and rubbed the tiger’s head affectionately.

Snow narrowed her eyes and let out a contented purr, clearly enjoying the attention.

"Here. Have some treats," Xavier said. With a flick of his wrist, several elixirs appeared in his palm.

He had been waiting for Snow to wake up because he wanted to investigate an unexpected problem with his investment system.

Previously, he had invested resources in Snow and received the system’s rewards as expected.

However, something strange had happened afterward. He could no longer reinvest the rewards he received from Snow into Mira.

The system had offered him no useful explanation, leaving him with little choice but to wait until the little tiger woke up and conduct another test.

Now, he finally had the opportunity.

But when Xavier held out the elixirs, Snow immediately backed away. The tiger shook her enormous head, making her refusal so obvious that Xavier could not help staring at her in surprise.

"What’s wrong with you?" he asked. "You enjoyed these last time. Why are you suddenly rejecting them now?"

Snow continued retreating, looking thoroughly unimpressed by the food on offer.

Then Xavier had an idea. He focused his thoughts, and a basketball sized mass of chaotic energy materialized above his left palm.

The instant Snow saw it, her amber eyes lit up. The tiger darted forward, practically throwing herself at the energy as though she had discovered the greatest delicacy in the world.

Xavier could not help laughing.

"So you’ve become a picky eater, have you?" he said.

"You won’t touch ordinary elixirs anymore, but you’ll happily devour chaotic energy?"

Unfortunately for Snow, Xavier was not about to let her dictate his experiments.
