Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Consider That My Mercy!

Before they could even turn toward the approaching presence, a powerful kick slammed into Gerald’s chest.

The force sent him flying backward into Paul, who had been standing just behind him.

Both men were hurled through the air like cannonballs.

They crashed into a large tree several dozen meters away, shaking the branches violently before the trunk snapped under the impact.

Paul dropped to the ground, coughing up mouthfuls of blood. Gerald, who had taken the full force of the initial kick, collapsed unconscious beside him.

For several seconds, nobody on the bus said a word. The entire confrontation had changed in the blink of an eye.

"Teacher Caleb, what just happened?" one student asked.

"Did anyone even see him move? He sent two Sinclair elders flying with one kick!"

"That kind of strength has to be at least 7th-Star Spirit Platform, right? Maybe even higher!"

The students pressed toward the windows, desperately trying to get a better look at the person who had intervened.

Then someone recognized the black clad figure standing on the road.

"Wait a minute. Isn’t that Mr. X?"

Mira stared at him in surprise.

"Mr. X?" she breathed.

The familiar name immediately drew everyone’s attention toward her.

"Mira, you know him?"

"Is he here to help you?"

"Hey Mira, how do you know someone that powerful? You have to introduce us sometime!"

Their questions came one after another, but Mira barely heard them.

Her attention remained fixed on Mr. X and the two elders lying near the broken tree. She had been preparing to face the Sinclair elders herself only moments earlier.

Now Mr. X had appeared out of nowhere and dealt with both of them before they could even understand what was happening.

Mira quickly opened the bus door and hurried outside.

"Mr. X, please don’t kill them!" she called.

Her sudden plea surprised Caleb, who was still recovering from Gerald’s punch.

Mira knew better than most people how ruthless Mr. X could be when he decided someone deserved to die.

During the Hunting Ground incident, he had killed Shadow without hesitation. He had also shown no mercy when dealing with the people responsible for the trouble at Renewal Martial Academy.

If he considered the Sinclair elders a threat, he might finish them off without a second thought.

Mira had no sympathy for what they had tried to do to her.

However, she did not want Mr. X to get into trouble because of her family’s actions.

Killing two prominent members of the Sinclair family in front of dozens of witnesses could attract unwanted attention and create complications for him.

She still did not fully understand his relationship with Xavier, but she knew he had helped her more than once.

She could not repay his kindness by allowing her relatives to drag him into unnecessary trouble.

Caleb quickly stepped forward as well.

"Mr. X, thank you for stepping in," he said. "Vice Principal Johnny will be here shortly. Could you leave these two to us? The academy can deal with them once he arrives."

Mr. X glanced at Mira, then at Caleb. For a moment, he appeared to consider their request.

"Fine," he said.

He walked toward the two elders. Gerald was still unconscious, while Paul struggled to push himself upright.

The moment Paul saw Mr. X approaching, his face drained of color. He had barely managed to survive the earlier attack.

Now the man responsible was coming toward him again, and he had no idea what the stranger intended to do.

Before Paul could speak, Mr. X delivered a punch to his abdomen.

The blow landed with terrifying precision.

Paul’s body jerked as a strange, destructive energy surged into him. It tore through his spiritual space, disrupting the foundation of his cultivation and leaving it in complete disarray.

His eyes widened in horror. He could feel it happening.

The spiritual space he had spent decades strengthening was being destroyed from within, and there was nothing he could do to stop it.

Mr. X moved to Gerald and delivered the same treatment.

The Third Elder remained unconscious as the chaotic energy invaded his body and shattered the structure that supported his cultivation.

When Mr. X finally stepped back, both men were still alive. But their lives as powerful martial artists were over.

Their spiritual spaces had been completely ruined, leaving them incapable of cultivating as they once had.

No ordinary healing elixir could restore what had just been destroyed.

Mira watched in stunned silence. She had asked Mr. X to spare their lives, and he had honored her request.

Yet he had made certain that neither elder would ever be able to threaten her in the same way again.

Caleb was equally speechless. Mr. X had agreed not to kill the elders, but he had crippled both of them in front of everyone.

And judging by his calm expression, he must be feeling what he just did was considered as a pitiful punishment instead of what he had in mind.

The destruction of a Spirit Platform martial artist’s spiritual space was far more devastating than an ordinary injury.

It was the foundation upon which their entire cultivation depended, and once it was shattered, years of hard work could be ruined in an instant.

That was precisely what had happened to Gerald Sinclair and Paul Sinclair.

Mr. X’s chaotic energy had torn through both men’s spiritual spaces, leaving them beyond ordinary recovery.

Unless they obtained a 6th-Grade Saint Healing Pill, their cultivation would fall back to the Foundation Establishment Realm. Even then, restoring their spiritual spaces would not be easy.

Mr. X had deliberately left them alive. After all, crippling two men who had dared to abduct his wife was punishment enough for the moment.

Since you dared to bully my wife, you can live with the consequences.

As he considered what he had just done, a hint of excitement stirred within him.

This was the first time he had confronted a 7th-Star Spirit Platform martial artist directly.

Yet Gerald had barely registered his presence before being sent flying.

The encounter had given Mr. X a much clearer idea of how powerful he had become.

His earlier calculations had been correct. The spiritual space within his body was as vast as East Lake, allowing him to accumulate far more chaotic energy than an ordinary martial artist at the same level.

With every additional star, the difference between him and other cultivators grew more pronounced.

His actual strength could surpass theirs by several minor realms. The gap was becoming increasingly difficult for ordinary martial artists to overcome.

Mr. X glanced at the two injured elders before turning toward Caleb Hart and the others.

"I’ll leave them to you," he said. "I still have something to take care of, so I’m heading out."

He had already confirmed that neither Gerald nor Paul posed any immediate threat.

There was no reason for him to remain and get involved in the aftermath. Vice Principal Johnny would arrive shortly, and Mr. X had no intention of being dragged into a lengthy conversation with him.

Given the principal’s reputation for seeking out talented martial artists, learning that Mr. X had crippled two 7th-Star Spirit Platform experts would definitely spark his interest.

Once Johnny discovered his identity, he would probably try to recruit him into Arcadia Academy.

That was the last thing Mr. X wanted.

He had followed the school bus to protect Mira, not to attract attention or establish another public identity.

"Mr. X, thank you!" Mira called after him.

He raised one hand in acknowledgment without turning around. A moment later, his figure disappeared from everyone’s sight.

However, he had not gone far. He slipped into the shadows nearby and continued watching the road.

Even if Gerald and Paul had been dealt with, the Sinclair family might have sent someone else to intercept Mira.

Until the Principal arrived and the students were safely on their way, he was not prepared to lower his guard.

Fortunately, no other trouble appeared. A few minutes later, Vice Principal Johnny finally arrived. After confirming that Mira and the other students were safe, Mr. X left the area for good.

* * *

"The Sinclair family has gone too far!"

By the time Vice Principal Johnny finished listening to Caleb’s account, his anger was unmistakable.

The veins on his forehead stood out as he struggled to contain himself.

He had expected the Sinclair family to be difficult, but he had not imagined they would openly block a school bus and attack an academy teacher in an attempt to seize one of their students.

Had they completely forgotten that laws and consequences still existed?

"Mira, are you hurt?" Johnny asked, turning to her, his expression softening with concern.

"I’m fine, Vice Principal," she assured him.

He examined her briefly before turning to Caleb.

"Who exactly is this Mr. X?" he demanded. "How can someone so young possess that kind of strength? Gerald and Paul are both 7th-Star Spirit Platform martial artists, yet neither could withstand a single attack from him."
