Chapter 73: Chapter 73: The High Tier Member Privilege

She told Samuel everything. She explained how Ryan Sinclair had approached her at Arcadia Academy and claimed that her mother was still alive.

She explained how she had been lured to Stormvale Martial Academy. She told him about Victor’s confession, the Sinclair family’s plan to hand her over to the Lindsay family, and the battle that followed.

Finally, she explained how Mr. X had arrived and saved her.

Samuel’s expression grew darker with every word. He had always known the Sinclair family had a questionable reputation, but he had never imagined they would go this far.

They had actually planned to hand their own niece over to another powerful family simply to secure protection? And Mira was already married. The thought alone disgusted him.

As for Collins Lindsay, Samuel’s opinion of the young man dropped even further.

A person’s talent and family background meant nothing if they used their position to prey on others. Samuel had no intention of defending such behavior.

Then Mira explained that Mr. X had been the one who intervened. Samuel’s expression immediately changed.

"Well done," he said, his gaze settling on Victor’s body.

"Someone like him brought this upon himself. If I had arrived in time to witness what happened, I would have made the same decision."

He then turned toward Xavier.

"So you must be Mr. X," he said, genuine respect in his voice. "I’ve heard quite a bit about you."

Samuel stepped forward.

"On behalf of the Extraordinary Division, I’d like to thank you for what you did in the Hunting Ground," he said.

"You protected Grant Mercer, Mira, and Evelyn Hart when they were in danger." His expression became even more sincere.

"And now you’ve saved Mira again. Thank you."

Xavier remained silent.

Samuel’s eyes brightened.

"Actually, there’s something else I’d like to discuss with you," he said, taking the opportunity immediately.

"Would you consider joining the Extraordinary Division?"

The invitation came without hesitation. Samuel had been interested in Mr. X ever since Grant Mercer reported what had happened inside the Hunting Ground.

The Extraordinary Division desperately needed talented people, especially someone with Mr. X’s abilities.

He was an exceptional alchemist. He possessed remarkable combat strength. He had entered the Hunting Ground despite being extremely young. And judging from what had happened today, his strength had increased again.

Samuel understood the significance of that. When Mr. X entered the Hunting Ground, the realm’s restrictions suggested that his cultivation had been around the Foundation Establishment rank.

Now he had killed a 1st-Star Spirit Platform martial artist with ease. The implication was obvious. Mr. X had broken through to Spirit Platform.

An alchemist capable of producing high quality elixirs was already rare. An alchemist who could reach Spirit Platform at such a young age was even rarer. Samuel had no intention of letting someone like that slip away.

Xavier, meanwhile, was quietly considering the proposal. The Extraordinary Division was an official organization backed by the government.

That meant resources. Connections. Information. Protection. There were many rare resources that even powerful families might struggle to obtain but that the Division could access through its national authority.

For someone with his system, that was extremely attractive. He could obtain resources through the Division, invest them, and use the returns to strengthen himself and Mira. It could benefit both sides.

More importantly, Xavier had not forgotten the Bloodshadow Cult. They had sent an assassin after Mira. He had no intention of letting that matter go unanswered.

But investigating an organization like the Bloodshadow Cult alone would be extremely difficult. The Extraordinary Division, however, would have intelligence networks and investigative channels spread across the country.

If he could gain access to those channels, finding the people behind the Bloodshadow Cult would become considerably easier.

The more Xavier thought about it, the more useful the arrangement seemed. There was only one obstacle.

His identity.

Xavier looked at Samuel.

"Minister Samuel, you already know that Mr. X isn’t my real name," he said.

He deliberately stopped there. He did not need to explain further.

Samuel understood immediately. Joining the Extraordinary Division normally required proper registration and identity verification, and Mr. X clearly had no intention of exposing his real identity.

Samuel considered the matter for a few seconds before smiling.

"Mr. X, you don’t need to worry," he said calmly.

"There’s an old saying that it’s better to make friends than enemies. Our division understands that some talented people have legitimate reasons for keeping their identities private. As long as an existing member is willing to personally vouch for someone, we can make an exception and allow them to work with the Division under an alias."

Xavier’s eyes narrowed slightly.

"Of course, there will be some differences," Samuel continued.

"Someone registered under their real identity will receive privileges that an anonymous member cannot, simply because the Division has to distinguish between people whose identities have been officially verified and those operating under a pseudonym. But you won’t be left without protection. We will still provide the necessary support and safeguards."

Samuel looked directly at Xavier.

"We value people who are willing to stand on the side of justice, and I have already heard enough about your actions to form an opinion of your character," he said.

"I believe you’re someone we can trust." He paused.

"That’s why I’m willing to personally vouch for you."

Samuel extended his hand slightly.

"So, Mr. X," he asked. "What’s your answer?"

Samuel Bush finished explaining the arrangement and extended the invitation one final time. Then he waited, watching Mr. X closely for an answer.

For a moment, the courtyard was silent. Then Mr. X smiled.

"I accept, Minister Bush," he said. "From today onward, I suppose we can consider ourselves colleagues."

Since Samuel had already made it clear that he could enter the Extraordinary Division under an alias, the one concern that had held Xavier back was no longer an issue. There was no reason for him to refuse.

Samuel’s face immediately lit up.

"Excellent! Excellent!" he said, genuinely delighted.

Bringing a Spirit Platform alchemist into the Extraordinary Division was no small matter.

An alchemist of that level could provide enormous support to the division, especially when it came to resources needed by powerful martial artists.

And Mr. X was clearly young. If his current accomplishments were any indication, his future was almost impossible to predict.

With another few years of growth, or perhaps a decade, he might become an even higher tier alchemist.

If that happened, the Extraordinary Division would no longer have to struggle to secure high level resources for its strongest members.

"Welcome to the Valemont branch of the Extraordinary Division, Mr. X," Samuel said, reaching into his belongings and pulling out a black mobile phone.

Its design was rather old fashioned compared to ordinary modern devices. "The division prepared this for important members. Keep it with you."

Xavier accepted it and examined the device.

Samuel chuckled.

"Don’t underestimate it just because it looks outdated," he said. "It has a precise positioning system built into it. If you’re ever in danger, press the star shaped emergency button in the lower right corner. The headquarters will immediately receive your location and dispatch people to assist you."

He then produced another item. This time, it was a silver metal card engraved with the words:

[Extraordinary Division — A-Level Member]

[Valemont Branch]

"Keep this somewhere safe as well," Samuel said.

"Since you’re joining under an alias, we’ve issued you an A-Level identity card instead of one tied to your real name." He handed it over.

"With this card, you can access the Extraordinary Division’s Resource Section and exchange points or resources for whatever you need."

He continued explaining before Xavier could even ask.

"The division has positions ranging from F-rank all the way to S-rank. Naturally, the benefits, authority, and compensation increase with each rank. There are also different privileges attached to each level."

Samuel went on for quite some time. It almost seemed as though he was worried that Mr. X might suddenly reconsider his decision, so he hurriedly explained every benefit the Division could offer.

Xavier listened patiently. By the time Samuel finally finished, Xavier had a much clearer understanding of what joining the organization would mean. He was quite satisfied.

Then he remembered the other reason he had come here. Xavier reached into his spatial ring, and a moment later a large collection of sealed pill bottles appeared before them.

Samuel froze.

"These," Xavier said casually, "are two hundred 4th-Grade elixirs of various types, along with twenty 5th-Grade elixirs. I don’t think I need to explain what they’re worth."

Samuel stared at the mountain of bottles. Xavier continued as though he had just placed a few ordinary items on the table.

"Take them and exchange them through the division’s channels," he said.

"I want resources that will actually benefit Foundation Establishment martial artists. Martial skills, weapons, defensive equipment, or anything else useful will do." He smiled.

"You can decide what to obtain. Once you have a list, contact me." He paused briefly before adding, "The more valuable the items, the better. And if you can get everything delivered quickly, even better."

For him, possessing too many elixirs had gradually become a problem. Even 4th-Grade elixirs would eventually become useless to Mira once she reached a higher level.

Rather than allowing those resources to sit unused, Xavier had already planned to exchange them for other treasures that could continue strengthening her.

That way, he could keep making investments in Mira without wasting the resources he already possessed.

Now that he had joined the Extraordinary Division, he could finally make use of its enormous network.
