Chapter 141: An Opponent That Shook Graham Cole
Chapter 141: Chapter 141: An Opponent That Shook Graham Cole
Reginald was especially shaken.
He remembered the warning Daoist Azure Lotus had given him after completing the formation.
Unless the person entering the formation is among the very few exceptional experts, anyone below the Divine Power Realm will die inside.
Reginald had trusted those words without reservation.
After all, Daoist Azure Lotus was a renowned formation grandmaster who understood the technique better than almost anyone else.
Yet Graham had just demolished the formation in less than a minute.
Was he truly one of those rare exceptions? Even if he was, the speed with which he had broken through the barrier was difficult to comprehend.
Reginald could no longer afford to underestimate his opponent.
In his mind, Graham’s strength had already reached the level of a peak Star Sea Realm expert, comparable to Victoria Quill herself.
Fortunately, the situation was not entirely hopeless.
While Graham had been destroying the formation, the Lindsay family’s experts had already begun preparing to fight him.
Harold had also sent a message requesting that the family’s Ancestor emerge from seclusion.
That gave them at least a chance of surviving the coming battle.
However, Reginald did not allow himself to relax. The Ancestor had yet to arrive, and Graham was still standing before them.
If the intruder decided to attack immediately, the family would have to endure his assault until reinforcements came.
They could not afford to waste a single moment.
Unfortunately for them, Graham had already decided to stop holding back.
A powerful beast did not need to expend all its strength to deal with a weak opponent.
Nevertheless, if it wanted to guarantee a kill, it would be foolish to underestimate its prey.
That was precisely how Graham had approached the Lindsay family.
At first, he had been willing to exchange a few blows with them.
Their cautious probing had given him an opportunity to test his abilities against experienced Star Sea Realm martial artists, and he had seen no reason to rush things.
But the Lindsay family had immediately resorted to a killing formation after he defeated Lincoln Hale.
Since they had shown no intention of fighting fairly, he had no reason to continue treating them gently. He would kill as many of them as possible. If circumstances allowed, he would eliminate the entire family, just as he had planned.
"Die!" Graham’s gaze settled on Reginald.
As the Lindsay family’s patriarch and Collins’s father, he was an obvious priority.
Killing him would deal a devastating blow to the family, so Graham had no intention of letting him escape.
His speed enhancing ability activated. In the blink of an eye, he crossed the distance between them, closing to within fifty meters before unleashing a devastating Chaos Divine Palm.
"Don’t even think about it!" Desmond Pryce immediately intervened.
The Lindsay family’s Third Elder gripped his long spear and thrust it forward, unleashing a powerful attack that stirred the surrounding air.
The surging force rushed toward Graham’s palm strike, attempting to divert or neutralize its destructive power.
The two attacks collided. Desmond’s confidence vanished almost instantly.
His powerful spear attack crumbled before Chaos Divine Palm, breaking apart as effortlessly as a fragile piece of tofu. It failed to weaken the incoming strike in the slightest.
He had no time to launch another attack.
Grabbing Reginald, Desmond immediately activated his speed enhancing ability and dragged the patriarch more than ten meters away.
The palm strike missed its intended targets and slammed into the entrance of the Lindsay family compound.
Fortunately, the family had already activated its defensive formation.
A thick, azure energy barrier surrounded the entrance, and Graham’s attack sent violent ripples spreading across its surface.
Although the barrier held, the sheer force of the impact left no doubt about the power behind the strike.
"Attack together! Don’t let him get any closer!" someone shouted.
With Graham making his move, the other senior members of the Lindsay family and their guest elders no longer hesitated.
They launched their attacks simultaneously, unleashing the full might of their Star Sea Realm cultivation.
Flames surged across the night sky, transforming the surrounding area into a sea of fire.
Bolts of lightning tore through the darkness, while razor sharp blades of ice swept toward Graham from every direction.
The ground trembled violently as martial artists with earth based supernatural abilities manipulated the terrain beneath his feet.
Space itself began to distort under the influence of Reginald’s spatial ability.
In an instant, Graham was surrounded by an overwhelming barrage of supernatural attacks.
Their combined power was enough to make the entire Lindsay family compound shake.
Yet he did not slow down. He continued charging toward Reginald as though the countless attacks raining down on him were nothing more than a passing breeze.
A dense layer of chaotic energy enveloped his body, forming an almost impenetrable defensive barrier.
Every attack that struck it either shattered or vanished into the surging energy without causing any meaningful damage.
The Lindsay family’s combined assault was like a stone thrown into the ocean. It disappeared beneath the surface without leaving a lasting trace.
This outcome was hardly surprising. Chaotic energy stood at the pinnacle of the universe’s energy hierarchy. Its overwhelming quality made it extraordinarily difficult for ordinary martial artists to penetrate a defense formed from it.
Unless the Lindsay family possessed someone with sufficient power to overcome that fundamental difference, their attacks would accomplish very little.
And none of them had demonstrated such strength.
Relying on his chaotic energy, Graham plunged straight into the ranks of the Lindsay family’s strongest fighters.
He moved through their formation with terrifying speed, striking left and right as though he were wandering through an empty field rather than battling a group of powerful Star Sea Realm experts.
The Lindsay family’s desperate counterattack had begun, but Graham was only getting started.
"Grand Elder! The Grand Elder has finally come out of seclusion!" one clansman shouted.
"Wonderful! We’re saved!" another cried.
"With him here, that bastard Graham Cole won’t be able to threaten us anymore!"
Reginald Lindsay and the three people beside him immediately abandoned their retreat and turned toward the figure who had just appeared. Relief and excitement washed over their faces.
The newcomer was none other than Winston Lindsay, the family’s Grand Elder.
He was the elder brother of Desmond Pryce and Marcus Pryce, as well as Reginald’s father.
Having spent years cultivating in seclusion, he had become a legendary figure within the family.
To many of the Lindsay family’s younger generations, his existence was almost synonymous with invincibility.
Seeing him appear at such a critical moment, Reginald finally felt that the situation was under control. He quickly approached his father using his spatial ability and bowed respectfully.
"Father, have you finally broken through to the Divine Power Realm?" he asked.
As he spoke, his eyes drifted toward the enormous pit in the ground.
The crater was several meters across, and its bottom was so deep that he could not see it clearly.
The terrifying destruction had occurred without any obvious warning.
Whatever power had caused it, Reginald was certain it was beyond what an ordinary peak Star Sea Realm expert could achieve.
Desmond, Marcus, and Harold, whom Reginald had just rescued, reached the same conclusion.
They gazed at Winston as he hovered in the air, his presence making him look almost like a deity descending upon the mortal world. Their faces filled with anticipation.
They had been forced to retreat before Graham Cole’s relentless assault.
Now, more than anything, they wanted to hear that their Grand Elder had crossed the final boundary and entered the Divine Power Realm.
Unfortunately, Winston shook his head.
"Not... quite," he said. "I’ve only touched the threshold."
He paused briefly before continuing, his speech somewhat halting after his prolonged seclusion. "You could call it... half step Divine Power Realm."
Although he had not completed the breakthrough, his answer was more than enough to reassure the others.
A half step Divine Power Realm expert possessed strength far beyond that of an ordinary peak Star Sea Realm martial artist.
With Winston standing on their side, the Lindsay family finally had someone capable of confronting Graham Cole head on.
After all, was not the intruder already showing signs of fear?
"Hahaha! Graham Cole, let’s see how arrogant you can be now that my eldest brother is here!" Desmond shouted.
"Your crimes against our family will be repaid in blood! We’ll use your death to honor our fallen brothers!" Harold added.
"You’re finished! There’s no way you’ll escape alive this time!"
Desmond, Harold, and the others wasted no opportunity to taunt their enemy.
Their earlier fear had disappeared, replaced by the confidence of people who believed the outcome was already decided.
Winston, however, paid little attention to their celebrations. His gaze settled on Graham Cole, and a trace of curiosity appeared in his eyes.
"Who are you, and what reason do you have for attacking my Lindsay family?" he asked.
Having spent so long in seclusion, he knew nothing about the recent conflict between Graham and the Lindsay family.
He had emerged only after receiving word that the family was facing a potentially devastating crisis.
Graham had no intention of explaining himself. He tightened his grip on the Dragon Slayer Sword, and his fighting spirit surged.
For once, he had encountered an opponent who could make him feel a genuine sense of danger.
That alone was enough to excite him. He had expected a difficult battle when he came to the Lindsay family’s territory.
Yet, after confronting Reginald and the other Star Sea Realm experts, he had discovered that he had overestimated their abilities while underestimating his own. The battle had been far easier than anticipated.
Now, however, Winston was different.
For the first time since entering the Lindsay family compound, Graham could sense that his opponent might actually force him to exert himself.
He had been waiting for an opportunity like this.
"There’s no need to waste time talking," he said, raising the Dragon Slayer Sword and pointing its blade at Winston.
The challenge was clear.
Winston gave a small nod.
"Very well," he said.
The moment the words left his mouth, his figure disappeared.
Graham’s pupils contracted. Winston reappeared directly in front of him, already launching a powerful punch.
His movement was so fast that even Graham could barely follow it.
All he could see was a series of overlapping afterimages.
