Chapter 100: Chapter 100: The Fall Of Collins Lindsay

Two nearly invisible streams of spiritual energy burst outward.

This was one of the advantages enjoyed by martial artists who had reached the Spirit Platform Realm.

Their connection with the spiritual energy of heaven and earth allowed them to unleash attacks far beyond the limits of ordinary physical strength.

Pat’s kick generated a violent gust that swept toward Xavier with the force of a hurricane.

His palm strike, meanwhile, carried a subtler force that sent Collins flying farther down the road, helping him put even more distance between himself and the attacker.

Pat followed up immediately, raising his dagger and thrusting it toward Xavier.

But before the blade could reach its target, something went terribly wrong.

The air around Pat seemed to solidify. An immense pressure descended upon him, pinning his body in place as though invisible chains had wrapped around every limb.

No matter how fiercely he struggled, he could not move freely.

Worse still, he felt his vitality draining away at an alarming rate. It was as if an unseen force had torn open a reservoir inside his body, allowing his life force to pour out uncontrollably.

The terrifying effect came from Xavier’s Heaven Piercing Sixfold Finger.

Everything happened in a fraction of a second.

Pat’s reaction had been remarkably fast, but the difference in their strength was simply too great.

His attempt to intercept Xavier had failed, and he was now trapped in the middle of his own attack.

Xavier did not waste the opportunity.

Even as Pat struggled against the invisible restraint, Xavier continued forward and swung his Thunder Sword toward Collins from a distance.

A brilliant streak of sword energy tore through the air.

However, it failed to reach its target.

At the last possible moment, Collins poured his spiritual energy into the rune fragment in his hand.

The fragment flashed, and he disappeared from sight before reappearing hundreds of meters away.

Xavier’s eyes narrowed. "A spatial rune fragment that grants teleportation?"

He had encountered several types of rune fragments before, including those associated with vitality, strength, and swordsmanship.

Their abilities varied, depending on the power contained within them.

A fragment capable of transporting its user across a considerable distance was not entirely outside his expectations.

Still, seeing Collins escape an otherwise unavoidable attack with such an item left Xavier feeling slightly frustrated. ℴ

The Lindsay family truly knew how to equip its heir. Even a spatial treasure like this had been placed in Collins’s hands.

I wonder how many times he can use it, and what conditions it requires.

Xavier had not accounted for the possibility of repeated teleportation when planning the ambush.

If Collins could activate the fragment without restriction, killing him would be considerably more troublesome than anticipated.

He needed to finish the fight before the situation deteriorated further.

A sudden rush of air sounded behind him. Xavier immediately shifted aside.

A dagger swept past, narrowly missing his body.

When he turned, he found Pat had somehow broken free of the spatial suppression imposed by his technique.

Blood covered the older man’s body, and his breathing had become ragged. His face was twisted with pain, yet his eyes burned with desperate determination.

"Arghhh!" Pat roared and attacked again.

His daggers moved in a relentless flurry, each strike faster and more vicious than the last.

Xavier remained composed, using his sword to deflect the incoming blows.

The sound of metal colliding echoed through the industrial district.

Although Pat’s attacks were fierce, Xavier could tell that something was terribly wrong with him.

His vitality was still fading at an astonishing rate.

Whatever technique he had activated to break free of the suppression was clearly exacting a devastating price.

Pat was burning through his own life force to keep fighting.

Even if he managed to survive this encounter, the consequences would likely be fatal.

"Uncle Pat!" Collins watched from a distance, his voice breaking with anguish.

Pat was not merely the protector assigned to him by the Lindsay family.

He had been at Collins’s side since childhood, watching him grow up and protecting him through countless dangers.

Over the years, their relationship had become closer than that of an ordinary master and young master.

Collins understood what Pat was doing.

The desperate technique he had unleashed would almost certainly kill him, regardless of whether he managed to defeat Xavier.

Yet Pat had chosen to sacrifice himself to give Collins a chance to escape.

"Young Master, run!" Pat bellowed, launching another furious barrage of attacks. "I can’t hold him for much longer!"

Xavier’s expression grew cold. Pat was certainly stubborn.

Unfortunately, determination alone could not bridge the gap between them. He stopped holding back and released the chaotic energy within his Spirit Platform.

In an instant, a vast, turbulent aura erupted from his body, spreading through the surrounding space like an overwhelming ocean. Its sheer pressure dwarfed anything Pat could withstand.

The older man’s attacks faltered as the chaotic energy swept over him.

Although the energy did not destroy him immediately, its crushing force battered his body from every direction.

His desperate assault collapsed, and he was thrown off balance, no longer able to keep Xavier occupied.

That was all Xavier needed.

His Thunder Sword flashed, and a fierce sword intent surged from the blade.

Wind and thunder intertwined around the brilliant arc of light as he unleashed the full force of the Wind and Thunder Sword Technique.

The attack tore through the air and struck Pat before he could recover. A dull impact rang out.

Then Pat’s head separated from his body and flew through the air.

His eyes remained wide open, frozen in disbelief even as his life came to an end.

The guardian of the Lindsay family had fallen.

Xavier withdrew his sword and immediately looked toward the direction Collins had fled.

The young heir was still running, but he had not activated his spatial rune fragment again.

Xavier’s eyes flickered with understanding.

So the teleportation fragment has limitations after all.

Perhaps it required time to recharge, or perhaps Collins could not use it repeatedly within a short period.

Whatever the reason, the earlier escape had bought him distance, not complete safety.

Xavier did not intend to waste the opportunity.

"Never mind. I’ll deal with him first," he said.

He accelerated and pursued Collins. Although Collins was desperately trying to escape, the gap between their physical abilities was far too great.

Within a few breaths, Xavier caught up with him.

Collins turned and stumbled backward, terror spreading across his face.

"Wait! You can’t kill me!" he cried. "I’m the legitimate heir of the Lindsay family! Whatever you want, we can discuss it. Just spare my life!"

He threw out one desperate plea after another, hoping the reputation of his family might still save him.

But Xavier had already made his decision.

Collins had repeatedly threatened Mira and her family, and he would never allow the man another chance to do so.

Without answering, Xavier swung his sword. A brilliant streak of sword light flashed across the road.

Collins’s pleas stopped abruptly as his head was severed from his body.

The young master of the Lindsay family had been killed.

Only then did Xavier allow himself a brief breath of relief.

However, the fight had lasted longer than he had intended, and the noise had attracted attention.

Several workers were emerging from the nearby factories, looking around in confusion as they tried to determine what had happened.

Xavier’s expression tightened. He had no time to linger.

He swiftly removed the spatial ring from Collins’s finger and stored it away.

Then he returned to Pat’s corpse and took the older man’s spatial ring as well.

With that done, Xavier gathered his chaotic energy, suppressing the overwhelming aura that had filled the area during the battle.

He took one final look around to ensure he had not left anything else behind.

Then, without waiting for the growing crowd to approach, he disappeared from the scene.

"Oh my goodness! Someone was murdered in broad daylight! Are we just going to stand here and do nothing?" one onlooker exclaimed.

"Did you see those attacks? That kind of power is beyond ordinary martial artists. Both men must have been at the Spirit Platform Realm!" another said.

"What a terrifying fight!"

The clash between Xavier and Pat Marty had drawn considerable attention from the surrounding area.

The moment the two began exchanging blows, people working in the nearby factories had noticed the commotion.

By the time the battle ended and the mysterious attacker disappeared, curious onlookers were already gathering around the scene.

Several people immediately contacted the authorities.

However, before the police could arrive, Samuel Bush and a group of officials from the Extraordinary Division reached the location.

They had been nearby when news of the disturbance reached them, allowing them to respond quickly.

The sight that greeted Samuel made his expression darken.

Two bodies lay on the ground, and the people gathered around them were still discussing the frightening battle they had witnessed.

Samuel had little tolerance for martial artists who treated the kingdom’s laws as meaningless.

For two powerful individuals to fight in the middle of the day was already unacceptable.

For the confrontation to end in two deaths so close to Stormvale Martial Academy made the incident even more serious. It was practically a challenge to the authority of the Extraordinary Division.

Something about the situation troubled him, though.
