Chapter 65: Contract Activation (Buy Privilege Please)

[Contract Condition Fulfilled]

A System window popped up right in front of Kyle after he finished practicing the skill. The golden window hovered in the air, displaying the message he had been expecting.

Kyle knew what it meant from the very first words that were in front of his face.

[User, the conditions for contract activation have been fulfilled. You have successfully learned more than 25% of each skill, activating the purchase condition for the item bundle costing 8000 SP.]

This was exactly what Kyle had expected to see.

He had already learned more than 25% of Magic Missile, Water Prison, and Earth Shield. According to the contract, once he crossed that threshold for each skill, the purchase condition would automatically be activated.

And now, he had fulfilled it.

The three skills he had borrowed were officially up for purchase.

Fortunately, Kyle had deliberately chosen this contract because the price was considerably better than buying the skills directly from the Marketplace.

Another window appeared with two options.

He could either pay the entire amount within two and a half months or pay through monthly EMIs.

Kyle didn’t need much time to decide.

He was confident that he could earn the required amount within two and a half months, and he didn’t want to deal with monthly installments if he could avoid them.

He selected the first option.

[Thanks for choosing the payment method. You have chosen to pay the full amount within 2.5 months. Is that correct?]

The System asked him to confirm his choice again in case he had accidentally selected the wrong payment method.

"Yes, I have chosen the correct payment method."

Kyle firmly confirmed his choice.

Kyle raised an eyebrow when he saw his current balance.

"Oh? Did my last uploaded video go viral too?"

He wasn’t particularly surprised by the amount.

After the first video had performed far better than he expected, Kyle had already anticipated that the second one would generate a considerable number of System Points as well.

There were several reasons for that, and apparently, his expectations had come true.

It was actually perfect timing for that too. Seeing an 8000 SP debt hanging over his head would have bothered him, even though he was confident he could earn more than that from his videos.

"Let’s pay off 3k. I’ll pay the rest once I earn that from my videos."

Kyle immediately transferred 3000 SP from his balance.

"That’s good."

The window automatically disappeared.

Kyle finally let out a relaxed sigh.

"Finally, I can rest now."

He went back inside the shed and sat down on the couch. He rested both hands on the armrests, stretched his legs out in front of him, and slouched comfortably into the cushions.

For the first time in several days, he genuinely had nothing urgent to do.

He could simply relax.

Kyle’s eyes eventually landed on the ring on his right hand.

"Well, I don’t even understand what was the point of this ring if the System could help me awaken the Mana Pool to begin with. I didn’t have to waste my precious 500 System Points on it..."

He took the ring off for a moment and looked at it closely.

It was a silver-colored ring with multicolored runes embedded into its surface. The tiny runes flickered faintly as he rotated the ring between his fingers.

Kyle couldn’t deny that it looked rather impressive.

"Well, it’s not a complete waste of money since it can still help me increase my mana capacity."

He put the ring back onto the index finger of his right hand and checked his status.

Kyle’s eyes widened slightly.

"Not bad at all."

His original Mana Pool could hold 1000 mana, while the ring provided another 750.

"That means it has around one-third of my mana capacity in itself."

Kyle looked at the ring with slightly more appreciation.

"Nice. If I recharge it, I won’t have to worry about running out of mana quickly during a fight."

That was actually a considerable advantage.

He still needed to meditate to absorb mana efficiently, and replenishing his reserves wasn’t something he could do instantly. Having another reservoir available meant he could potentially continue fighting even after exhausting his main Mana Pool.

Still, he couldn’t help but remain slightly annoyed about the fact that the System could have helped him unlock his Mana Pool from the beginning.

"It’s alright. It’s not like it’s useless. And it’s only 500 SP anyway. Not exactly a huge waste of money."

Kyle shrugged and leaned back into the couch.

He sat there quietly for a while, thinking about everything that had happened over the past few days.

Just a few days ago, he had been an ordinary human being who didn’t even know what mana was.

Now he could use magic.

He could fire Magic Missiles.

He could trap things inside Water Prison and not to mention the massive walls of earth he was able to create now from nothing.

And this was only the beginning. The realization made excitement spread through him.

Then the System suddenly decided to make an appearance.

[Wassup? How does it feel after learning magic?]

Kyle looked toward the floating window.

"Physically, not that much different, right?"

He glanced down at his hands before a grin slowly spread across his face.

"But in my being..."

His eyes practically glowed with excitement.

"I feel fucking invincible right now."

[That’s the attitude of a warrior, brother. Keep it up.]

Kyle nodded.

"Yeah."

He relaxed against the couch, enjoying the strange feeling of having finally stepped beyond the limits of an ordinary human.

But after thinking about it for a few seconds, another question suddenly came to his mind.

"By the way, System..."

Kyle looked toward the floating window.

"Why does Earth even have mana to begin with?"
