Infinte Origin
The Third Shadow
Chapter 119 — The Third Shadow
Aether returned to a secluded mountain cave before attempting anything further.
The breakthrough to Stage 9 had changed his perception considerably.
Origin Energy felt different now.
Before, it had been something he controlled.
Now, he could sense its deeper structure.
Every shadow was connected to that structure.
Blackfang emerged first.
The black wolf stood silently before him.
Ironhide appeared beside it.
Aether looked at both shadows for several seconds.
Then he opened his private System.
[Origin Shadow Authority: Initial Stage]
[Origin Shadows: 2]
[Shadow Storage: Unlocked]
[Shadow Exchange: Locked]
[Shadow Evolution: Locked]
[Shadow Command: Basic]
[Shadow Realm: Locked]
[Origin Sovereign Path: Locked]
[Shadow Resonance: 51%.]
The Stage 9 imprint remained inside his Origin Energy.
Aether selected it.
[Stage 9 Origin Imprint detected.]
[Compatibility: 96%.]
[Imprint quality: Exceptional.]
[Origin Shadow Authority recognizes high compatibility.]
[Additional manifestation capacity remains restricted.]
Aether frowned slightly.
"Still restricted?"
The System didn't answer.
There was no need.
The condition was already clear.
He needed more resonance.
Aether sat cross-legged.
Instead of forcing the imprint into a shadow, he began synchronizing with the Origin Shadow Authority itself.
Blackfang and Ironhide stood on either side of him.
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
Their energies flowed back into his shadow.
Aether guided the resonance slowly.
The process wasn't painful.
It was simply difficult.
His Origin Energy had to maintain the connection between himself and both shadows while simultaneously integrating the Stage 9 imprint.
Minutes passed.
Then an hour.
The cave became completely silent.
Aether's breathing slowed.
The resonance rose.
51%.
52%.
53%.
54%.
At 55%, the entire cave trembled.
Black mist suddenly spread from Aether's feet.
Blackfang's eyes flashed.
Ironhide growled.
Aether opened his eyes.
The Stage 9 imprint had changed.
It was no longer simply a stored fragment of energy.
It was beginning to synchronize with his shadow authority.
[Resonance threshold reached.]
[Origin Shadow Authority has entered an advanced state.]
[Manifestation capacity expanded.]
[Current stable Origin Shadow capacity: 3.]
Aether's gaze sharpened.
Finally.
The restriction had been broken.
Three shadows.
He didn't hesitate.
The Stage 9 imprint surged from his storage.
Black mist covered the cave floor.
A massive silhouette slowly emerged.
Four legs.
A broad armored body.
Six horns.
The same black-scaled predator he had killed earlier.
But this time, it wasn't alive.
Its body was made entirely from dense Origin Shadow Energy.
Its eyes opened.
Dark crimson light filled them.
The creature lowered its head.
Aether looked at it.
For a moment, the cave was silent.
Then he reached out his hand.
"You were strong enough to push me to my limit."
The shadow beast lowered itself further.
"So I'll give you a place among my shadows."
The creature bowed.
Aether considered its name.
Blackfang had been the first.
Ironhide the second.
The third needed something fitting.
"Horns."
The beast's six horns were unmistakable.
Aether shook his head.
"No. Too simple."
He studied it again.
Its body resembled armor.
Its presence felt like a fortress moving through darkness.
"Grimhorn."
The shadow beast raised its head.
Aether nodded.
"Your name is Grimhorn."
The newly created Origin Shadow released a low roar.
The sound echoed through the cave.
[Third Origin Shadow successfully manifested.]
[Name: Grimhorn]
[Origin: Stage 8 Peak Origin Beast]
[Current manifestation synchronized with Host's Stage 9 cultivation.]
[Shadow Storage: Available.]
Aether looked at the three shadows.
Blackfang.
Ironhide.
Grimhorn.
Three completely different combat roles.
Blackfang specialized in speed and assassination.
Ironhide possessed overwhelming strength and defense.
Grimhorn was balanced, possessing both tremendous physical power and powerful Origin Energy attacks.
Aether smiled faintly.
This was what he had wanted.
Not followers.
Not an organization.
Not a kingdom.
An army that belonged entirely to him.
An army born from his victories.
An army that would rise from his shadow.
Aether stood.
"Return."
All three shadows disappeared simultaneously.
The cave became empty.
Aether could still feel them.
Blackfang rested within his shadow.
Ironhide remained there as well.
Grimhorn had joined them.
Their existence was tied to him.
As long as Aether lived, they could not truly die.
If their manifested bodies were destroyed, they would simply return as black mist and wait for him to reform them.
Aether looked at his hand.
His cultivation had reached Stage 9.
His shadow army had reached three members.
But there was still much more locked behind the Origin Shadow Authority.
Shadow Exchange.
Shadow Evolution.
Shadow Realm.
And beyond all of them—
Origin Sovereign Path.
Aether had no idea exactly what that final path would become.
He didn't need to know yet.
He would unlock it step by step.
One victory at a time.
One shadow at a time.
One breakthrough at a time.
He walked out of the cave.
The sun was already setting over the mountains.
Aether looked toward the horizon.
He had spent a long time hunting beasts.
Now he had enough strength to begin searching for something else.
Information.
Blackridge had been gathering keys.
They had known about the Origin Heart.
And someone above the Stage 9 operative had ordered them to continue.
That meant Blackridge was only part of something larger.
Aether wasn't interested in saving the continent.
He wasn't interested in becoming its protector.
But if Blackridge stood between him and the truth of the Origin system, he would tear through them.
His eyes became cold.
"Let's see how deep this goes."
Behind him, three shadows stirred.
The hunt had evolved.
