Infinte Origin
The Awakening Beneath The Earth
Chapter 33 — The Awakening Beneath the Earth
The roar beneath the forest faded.
For several seconds, nothing moved.
Then the sword in Aether's hand pulsed again.
A faint silver light traveled from the hilt to the tip of the blade.
The Origin System reacted immediately.
[Unknown Origin Weapon resonance detected.]
[External response confirmed.]
[Source: Beneath the Bloodline Shrine.]
Aether stared at the ground.
“It's reacting to the sword.”
The ancient wolf nodded.
“It recognizes what you carry.”
“Who made it?”
The ancient wolf didn't answer.
Aether turned toward it.
“You know.”
“I know what it was used for.”
“That isn't what I asked.”
The ancient wolf's golden-red eyes remained fixed on the blade.
“The one who forged it is no longer here.”
Aether didn't press further.
The ground suddenly shook.
This time, the disturbance was stronger.
Cracks spread outward from beneath the altar.
The Crimson Fang Wolf immediately moved away from the largest fracture, keeping her pups behind her.
Lyra summoned lightning around her hands.
Nyx's fur stood on end.
Aether raised the new blade.
The sword reacted.
A deep vibration traveled through its edge.
Then—
the ground exploded.
BOOM!
A massive black hand burst from beneath the earth.
It grabbed the edge of the altar and pulled.
Stone shattered.
Something enormous began climbing out.
Aether stepped backward.
The creature that emerged was unlike the previous ancient beasts.
Its body was humanoid, but its entire form was covered in dark armor-like scales.
Four horns curved backward from its head.
Silver cracks ran across its chest, glowing with the same color as Aether's weapon.
Its eyes opened.
Silver.
Cold.
Ancient.
The Origin System immediately failed.
[Analysis failed.]
[Target exceeds current analysis authority.]
[Species: Unknown.]
[Realm: Unknown.]
[Origin: Unknown.]
Aether's expression became serious.
The creature looked at his sword.
Then at Aether.
“So it chose you.”
Aether raised the blade slightly.
“You know this weapon?”
“I know what it was created to do.”
“What?”
The creature smiled.
If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
“Kill.”
Aether's eyes narrowed.
The creature continued.
“It was created during the final war of the Origin Domain.”
The ancient wolf suddenly growled.
“Enough.”
The creature ignored it.
“The weapon was forged to kill beings that could not normally be killed.”
Aether looked at the sword.
For the first time, the weapon felt heavier.
Not physically.
Historically.
“How did it end up sealed here?”
The creature looked toward the shrine.
“It wasn't sealed here.”
Aether's expression changed.
“Then why is it here?”
“Because it was waiting.”
“For me?”
The creature stared directly at him.
“For someone capable of carrying it.”
Aether didn't like the implication.
He wasn't interested in being someone's chosen hero.
He wanted his own path.
“What happens if I don't use it?”
“Nothing.”
The answer surprised him.
The creature stepped forward.
“The weapon doesn't command its wielder.”
It looked toward Aether.
“Neither does the Origin.”
Aether understood the meaning.
Choice.
Again.
The same theme.
Power.
Protection.
Something beyond both.
The creature raised one enormous hand.
“But there is a problem.”
The surrounding air suddenly became heavy.
“The weapon has awakened.”
The silver lines on its body brightened.
“So have the things that were created to destroy it.”
The Origin System flashed.
[Multiple hostile Origin signatures detected.]
Aether looked toward the forest.
One.
Three.
Seven.
Then more.
The system continued counting.
[Hostile signatures: 27.]
[Confirmed killing intent: 27.]
[Estimated cultivation: Stage 3–Stage 7.]
Aether's grip tightened.
“They came already?”
The creature smiled.
“They were always coming.”
The first group emerged from the trees.
Unlike the previous bloodline hunters, these people wore silver armor.
Twenty-seven cultivators.
Their leader stepped forward.
He was a tall man with white hair and a scar running across his left eye.
[Analysis]
Species: Human
Cultivation: Origin Awakening — Stage 7
Ability: Silver Flame
Physique: Unknown
Potential: A
Threat Level: High
The man's gaze immediately locked onto Aether's sword.
“Origin Blade.”
Aether didn't answer.
The man's expression became cold.
“Hand it over.”
Aether almost laughed.
“You came all this way to ask?”
“No.”
The man drew his sword.
“We came to take it.”
The Hostility Detection system flashed.
[Hostility: Extreme.]
[Killing intent: Confirmed.]
[Intent: Eliminate target.]
Aether's expression became completely calm.
“Then you've already made your choice.”
The man's silver flames erupted.
“Kill him.”
The twenty-seven cultivators charged.
Aether stepped forward.
His new sword moved.
A silver arc flashed through the battlefield.
The first attacker never finished his attack.
He collapsed.
[Target eliminated.]
Aether didn't stop.
His sword moved again.
And again.
Unlike before, there was no hesitation.
Every enemy with confirmed killing intent was a threat.
And Aether had already decided how he dealt with threats.
Lyra unleashed a storm of lightning.
Nyx darted through the battlefield, striking exposed openings.
The Crimson Fang Wolf remained near her pups, fighting anyone who approached them.
Aether didn't interfere.
She could handle her own enemies.
His attention remained on the silver-armored cultivators.
The weapon felt natural in his hand.
Far too natural.
His Origin Energy flowed through the blade without resistance.
[Origin Conduction activated.]
[Energy loss: 3%.]
Aether's eyes sharpened.
Only three percent loss.
His old metal weapon couldn't even compare.
A Stage 5 cultivator attacked from behind.
Aether turned.
The blade struck.
The man's weapon shattered.
Aether's second strike ended the fight.
[Foreign Origin Energy absorbed.]
[Origin Points +1.]
[Origin Points: 176/200.]
Another attacker came.
Aether killed him.
Then another.
Then another.
The battlefield became increasingly chaotic.
The silver-armored leader watched Aether carefully.
His expression slowly changed.
The young man in front of him wasn't simply stronger than before.
His fighting style had changed.
The sword had changed him.
No.
The sword had revealed something already inside him.
The leader's silver flames exploded outward.
“Enough!”
A massive wave of silver fire swept across the battlefield.
Aether raised his sword.
The blade absorbed the incoming energy.
[Adaptive Resonance activated.]
[Foreign attribute detected: Silver Flame.]
[Compatibility: 31%.]
Aether's eyes widened slightly.
The sword could adapt to enemy attributes.
Not copy them.
Not yet.
But understand them.
He pushed forward.
The silver flames split around his blade.
Aether reached the Stage 7 leader.
Their weapons collided.
CLANG!
The force shook the ground.
The leader's eyes widened.
“You're only Stage 3!”
Aether pushed his blade against his.
“And you're still losing.”
He twisted.
The leader's weapon was knocked aside.
Aether stepped inside his defense.
The leader tried to retreat.
Too late.
Aether's blade pierced through his chest.
The silver flames disappeared.
The man fell.
[Target eliminated.]
[Foreign Origin Energy absorbed.]
[Origin Points +3.]
[Origin Points: 179/200.]
[Origin Adaptation: 18.7% → 19.4%.]
[Infinite Origin Physique Development: 0.28% → 0.31%.]
Aether pulled the sword free.
The remaining cultivators froze.
Their leader was dead.
Aether looked at them.
They had killing intent.
He raised his sword.
None of them escaped.
Minutes later, the battlefield became silent.
The final enemy collapsed.
Aether stood among the defeated cultivators, breathing steadily.
Lyra approached.
“You've changed.”
Aether looked at her.
“How?”
“You didn't hesitate.”
Aether glanced at the bodies.
“They came here to kill us.”
His voice remained calm.
“I don't see a reason to give people like that another chance.”
Lyra nodded.
She understood.
The ancient creature beneath the shrine watched Aether carefully.
“You finally understand.”
Aether turned toward it.
“Understand what?”
“That power isn't what decides whether you kill.”
The creature's silver eyes narrowed.
“Choice does.”
Aether looked down at his sword.
The silver lines glowed faintly.
The Origin System appeared once more.
[Origin Weapon Synchronization: 1% → 3%.]
[New function partially unlocked.]
[Origin Severance: 4%.]
Aether's eyes narrowed.
A new ability.
But only four percent.
The system added one final warning.
[Further synchronization requires stronger Origin compatibility.]
Aether smiled slightly.
So the sword had its own progression.
Good.
He could work with that.
Then the Bloodline Shrine released an enormous crimson pulse.
[Bloodline Shrine Awakening: 64% → 72%.]
The Crimson Fang Wolf suddenly roared.
The three evolution symbols appeared above her.
The third symbol was almost complete.
[Unknown Path Compatibility: 24% → 39%.]
Aether looked toward the shrine.
The ancient creature's expression changed.
“It has begun.”
“What?”
“The final phase.”
The shrine's crimson light expanded across the forest.
The ground beneath them opened.
And from the depths—
something began climbing upward.
Something far larger than anything that had emerged before.
Aether tightened his grip on the Origin Blade.
His newest weapon had awakened.
His cultivation had reached Stage 3.
His physique was beginning to accelerate.
And now the Bloodline Shrine was entering its final stage.
Whatever emerged next would decide what happened to this entire Origin Zone.
