Chapter 50: changing outfit

Suzy let out a weak laugh, her cheeks turning a tiny bit pink as she looked at my sharp face closer. Her heart was still beating in a quick, regular rhythm, the intense closeness making the big royal bedroom feel very warm.

"My veins feel like they are full of warm honey," she murmured, her eyes locking straight into mine with a look of pure, deep attraction that she wasn’t even trying to hide anymore. "That potion... it must have cost a fortune from your secret ledger."

"Fifty thousand gold," I smirked, adjusting my cuffs. "I’m putting it straight onto your personal guild account, manager. You’re going to be working off that debt for a very long time."

Suzy smiled beautifully, her eyes turning a bit watery as she squeezed my clothes a little tighter, pulling my frame an inch closer to her pillows. "I don’t mind the contract, Barry. As long as the partner stays right here to manage the books with me."

I reached down, my hand gently touching her hairs to fix them away from her forehead to back to her ears, letting my fingers rest near her cheek for a brief second. "The new kingdom is stable, now we have a new queen and i will stay on her side forever."

The next morning sun came through the large windows of the private chambers, throwing long lines of gold light across the marble floor. Suzy was still resting against in the bed. Her breathing was regular now, but her body was still completely weak from the strain of her sudden mid-stage Ascendant breakthrough.

I didn’t leave her side for the entire day. Since she couldn’t lift her arms without her veins aching, I handled everything. I sat on the edge of the mattress, carefully holding a porcelain bowl of warm soup I had ordered from the kitchen, feeding her small spoonfuls one by one.

Suzy’s face was a constant shade of deep red. She was the tough, untouchable director of the Silver Crest Guild, and being looked after like a helpless child was causing her pure, intense embarrassment.

"Barry, I can hold the spoon myself," she muttered in a soft whisper, she looking away toward the curtains as she tried to pull her hands out from under the blanket.

"Your muscle connection is still fixing itself, queen Suzy," I said, keeping my face completely calm as I brought another spoonful to her lips. "If you drop this soup on these expensive sheets, it is going to ruin our local asset value. Just open up and let the silent partner manage the distribution."

Suzy let out a tiny, frustrated huff, but she opened her mouth and took the soup, her heart racing fast against as she looked up at my face from inches away.

I ignored the screen, putting the empty bowl down on the side table. For the next two days, I stayed right in that room, helping her sit up, adjusting her pillows, and making sure the royal doctor’s blue herbs were mixed correctly into her tea.

By the third morning, the fatigue completely left her frame. Her Ascendant core was fully settled, and her skin had returned to its healthy, bright state.

"I am completely recovered, Barry," Suzy said, standing up from the bed on her own two feet. She stretched her arms, a bright, confident smile showing on her face. "I need to get out of these messy clothes from the vault. I look like a total disaster."

"Agreed," I laughed, looking down at my own suit. "My suit took a lot of hits in that camp fight too. It’s completely torn in the back. Let’s get a fresh dress compiled."

Suzy went into the private changing room behind the velvet curtains, while I used my system panel to pull up a new set of clothes from the palace wardrobe inventory.

A few minutes later, the curtains moved aside, and Suzy stepped out into the center of the bedroom. I turned my head to look at her, and my breath caught completely in my throat. I stood frozen for a whole second, my yellow eyes locking onto her figure as my mind went totally blank.

She had changed into a brand-new, custom royal outfit. She wore a sleek, sleeveless dark tunic that fit her waist perfectly, showing off every single curve of her body. The fabric was tight across her chest, raising and falling softly with her breathing, and her bare arms looked incredibly smooth and elegant. The dark tunic opened up slightly at her thigh, revealing her long legs as she walked. She looked absolutely stunning, her entire body carrying a wild, beautiful, and completely sexy pressure that I had never seen on her before.

Suzy noticed me staring, she saw my frozen expression. Her cheeks turned a tiny bit pink, but she didn’t look away. Instead, she looked me up and down, her own eyes widening in surprise.

I had changed my clothes too. My old torn suit was gone, replaced by a fresh, customized midnight-black long coat with gold borders along the collar. The coat fit my tall, six-foot frame perfectly, highlighting my broad shoulders and strong chest, while my hair fell slightly over my face.

I quickly recovered my focus, adjusting my new clothes with a confident smirk. " Since we are in capital now we need to wear better clothes, and as a Queen You look completely beautiful and fantastic yourself. The crown suits you."

Suzy gave me a beautiful shy smile. "Then—Then let’s not keep our staff waiting. It’s time to show the capital our new look."
