Chapter 303 - 303: 303: He Has No Choice But to Die
“I am Grevor, Lord of Chaos!”
“Your Chaos Magic is nothing compared to mine!”
Grevor’s voice was filled with arrogance as his long hair flowed in the wind, revealing a handsome face. Elements of every kind swirled around him as if a Chaos Magic god had descended, capable of manipulating all six elements with ease.
With a flick of his staff, he conjured waves of elemental tides, and Chaos Magic Balls howled through the air, effortlessly absorbing Orson’s attacks.
“Chaos ants, die!” Grevor shouted.
After landing several direct hits with his Chaos Magic Balls, Grevor’s confidence surged. He pointed his staff forward, then swung it to the left and right.
But where was his target?
Grevor stared in disbelief, his eyes scanning the area, but he couldn’t find Orson anywhere.
What he didn’t realize was that Orson had already retreated several kilometers.
Orson smiled lightly. “Basic attack range is about three kilometers. Your skills aren’t all that impressive.”
“Die!!” Grevor screamed, mounting his Griffin and charging forward, while Orson continued to kite him, keeping just outside of Grevor’s attack range.
Flame Fosset had scammed him out of so much money, giving him only one-third of the Chaos Magic abilities. He’d been holding that grudge for a long time.
Now, it was time to settle the score with the man in front of him.
Even without using the God-Emperor Earrings to lock onto the target, the golden light from Grevor’s Griffin was an obvious target—Orson only had to aim toward it and fire blindly.
However, Grevor’s skills were no joke. His reaction times were beyond that of a regular NPC, and most of Orson’s attacks were blocked by his Chaos Magic Balls. An ordinary NPC couldn’t have pulled this off.
“You treacherous little bastard! Stand still! Let’s see who’s really the greatest disciple of that fool, Fosset!” Grevor yelled in anger, only to be hit again by another Chaos Magic Ball. The devastating critical damage and burn effects made him wince in pain.
Just as Orson had guessed, they were both from the same mentor.
“Greatest disciple? I wouldn’t say that,” Orson replied, his tone cold.
He then switched up his attack rhythm. The Mirror of Folding appeared in front of him, and the Chaos Six-Pointed Star lit up. The Flame Dragon shot through the spatial rift, heading straight for Grevor.
The Golden Griffin screeched in fury, whipping up a storm of golden energy that shattered the oncoming Flame Dragon.
Whisper of the Wind activated, and Chaos Magic Balls surged forward like waves, ready to strike.
But the Golden Griffin was incredibly powerful, flapping its wings so violently that it created a golden storm in the air, destroying every Chaos Magic Ball in its path.
“Attack! Bring that stupid bird down!” Orson’s eyes narrowed. The griffin was interfering with his damage output.
The Crimson Lizard King’s blood-red eyes widened in fury. Though it had a penchant for dragon brains, it was more than happy to improve its diet now.
Orson leapt into the air, and the Crimson Lizard King charged toward the spatial rift, appearing right above the Golden Griffin’s head. It tilted its head and unleashed a devastating Doom Dragon Breath.
Boom!
Grevor cried out in pain as both he and his mount were thrown into a river below.
Orson’s eyes glinted with deadly intent. The thought of killing and looting was all-consuming. Even a broken artifact, in his hands, would provide a massive power boost.
“Supreme Chaos Mother…” Grevor struggled to his feet, chanting a spell to prepare his counterattack. But he had greatly underestimated Orson’s tactics.
The Crimson Lizard King had delivered a successful blow and was now making a swift return through the rift. At a thousand meters above the ground, it caught Orson, who was already planning his next move.
The duo—Orson and the Crimson Lizard King—worked together like a well-oiled machine, keeping Grevor on the defensive.
“Welcome to my domain,” Orson’s voice was cold as mist swirled around him. Ice Prison Ring expanded rapidly.
Crackling…
The river quickly froze over, and Grevor was covered in a layer of ice crystals, his body fully frozen.
“You little… bastard!” Grevor struggled, his words filled with frustration.
Orson’s face remained emotionless. To him, emotions were useless. No one, no matter who they were, was more important than an artifact.
“Blazing Meteor Shower!”
The Crimson Lizard King roared, and a barrage of fiery stars rained down, altering the terrain as firestorms surged through the area.
Awakened·Judgment Flame!
Critical Hit -10,000,000!
Orson and the Crimson Lizard King’s combined efforts unleashed a ton of damage in mere seconds.
Doom Dragon Breath!
Even with the Golden Griffin’s massive defensive stats, the Crimson Lizard King’s elemental attacks couldn’t be stopped. No matter how powerful the Saint Lord-Class Griffin was, it would kneel before the sheer might of the Doom Dragon Breath.
“Uncrowned Divine Wings!”
The Golden Griffin flapped its golden wings fiercely, protecting Grevor as two crescent-shaped golden wind blades shot out toward Orson.
The Crimson Lizard King tried to dodge, but it was too slow, and the wind blades hit its massive body. Two deep cuts, each ten meters long, appeared on its scales. Blood spilled as bone was exposed.
Critical Hit -2,000,000!
Bleeding -100,000!
Orson’s eyes hardened, and a murderous intent flickered in them. This Golden Griffin was tough—able to retaliate even after being suppressed by the Doom Dragon Breath.
If it weren’t for the Crimson Lizard King’s durable body, that wind blade could have pierced right through it and potentially taken the Lizard King down.
“We’re not enemies, we should talk!” Grevor called out, clearing his throat.
“You’re not a woman, so there’s no need to talk,” Orson replied coldly, seizing control of the Crimson Lizard King and moving them a hundred meters to the side.
An ice and fire element spear grazed his body, hitting the ground with a resounding crash, causing an explosion of mixed flames and frost. The powerful impact caused a strange landscape to form beneath them—an ice-and-fire terrain.
“That’s a B-Class Frozen Spear and B-Class Fire Sun Arrow, their combined power is on par with an A-Class Awakening spell.”
Orson muttered in surprise. This was exactly the kind of destructive potential he had been missing from his Chaos Tree of Talents.
If he could combine multiple A-Class Awakening spells like that, it might even result in a Forbidden Curse-level attack!
“Damn it! How did you figure this out? What the hell are you?” Grevor cursed in frustration, hastily riding his Golden Griffin away.
“Don’t run. Your little bronze tripod and I are connected. You can show me, and I won’t kill you,” Orson smiled and continued his pursuit, maintaining a 3.1-kilometer distance.
Though he couldn’t see Grevor’s full stats, the strength of his mount suggested that even if Grevor had 500,000 health, he could still be killed in a single strike.
Orson grinned widely, casting spells and unleashing attacks relentlessly. At first, Grevor could still fend off some of Orson’s basic attacks, but after Mirror of Folding’s five-time acceleration, Orson’s rhythm became unpredictable, and Grevor was being pummeled from all sides.
After over ten minutes of non-stop fighting, Grevor’s Golden Griffin’s health was below 50%, and Grevor’s health panel finally appeared.
200 million/300 million HP.
This health pool was close to that of a King-Level Lifeform, and Grevor was a relatively fragile mage.
Orson wisely avoided getting too close, knowing that a single hit from this kind of entity could easily end a player’s life. Stay tuned to My Virtual Library Empire
“If I remember correctly, Flame Fosset’s health panel wasn’t even as high as his,” Orson thought to himself.
It must have been Grevor’s status as the Light God’s Envoy, and the fact that his exact attributes were listed as Cannot Inspect. Usually, above-King-level lifeforms had their panels listed as Unknown, even if their exact stats couldn’t be viewed.
Grevor must have some advanced disguise or cloaking skill.
Grevor spoke again: “Didn’t you get the Titan’s Magic Eye? I have the missing pieces of Chaos Magic for you.”
“Class Awakening Quest: SSS-Class Chaos Overlord.”
“Quest Update!”
“Fraudster·Grevor attempts to make a deal with you.”
“Quest Item: 1/1 Titan’s Magic Eye.”
“Would you like to submit?”
Orson raised an eyebrow, momentarily hesitating. He was considering whether to kill Grevor and take the artifact, or complete the class awakening quest first, then deal with Grevor…
In any case, Grevor had an artifact, and that meant he had to die.
