In the room, Song Jianguo looked at Zhang Wenda's current state with a hesitant expression. Finally, she couldn't help but ask, "Do you know where I can buy some Wahaha around here?"

Zhang Wenda didn't answer. He just sat on the stool, trying to calm himself. His hands were trembling, and he couldn't make them stop.

Just then, Black Coal, whose tail was a little bald, jumped in front of Song Jianguo and began to MEOW MEOW MEOW, looking rather agitated.

"What? Slow down. What did you say he did?"

Just as a bewildered Song Jianguo scooped Black Coal into her arms, preparing to question it further, Zhang Wenda, who was radiating heat, suddenly stood up. He lowered his head and walked outside.

He had come out to find Tang Xingxiong. Following Hu Maomao's directions, he eventually reached the top of the massive computer and saw a giant bird's nest. This was her home.

A flock of red-eyed crows were either rolling around on various glowing objects inside the nest or hopping on the branches outside. Even though Zhang Wenda was standing right in front of them, not a single crow paid him any mind.

"I'm here for Tang Xingxiong. Which of you is she? Or... are you all her?"

But the crows didn't react to his question at all, completely ignoring him.

Zhang Wenda said nothing. He stood there in silence, and gradually, his body faded like a shadow until he vanished. The crows grew raucous, opening their black beaks to let out harsh, grating caws.

But at that moment, one of the crows suddenly convulsed as if it had been electrocuted. As black feathers fell away, an arc-shaped, blood-red scar materialized on its body.

The crow immediately tried to fly, but a second later, more wounds began to spread across its body. The intense pain caused it to shriek again and again.

It struggled desperately to fly, but no matter what it did, the wounds just kept multiplying, as if sprouting from its very flesh.

The surrounding crows were terrified, taking flight and cawing in a panic.

But it was useless. After that crow died, covered in wounds, the same arc-shaped injuries began to spread to the others like a plague.

The crows rapidly coalesced into Tang Xingxiong, who roared in fury, "Come out!"

Gradually, Zhang Wenda reappeared within the tide of thought, calmly facing the furious Tang Xingxiong.

Tang Xingxiong was about to let loose a string of curses when she noticed something. She asked in astonishment, "What ability was that? How can you attack across the tide of thought? As far as I know, your Three-Line Spectral Technique is nothing special."

Zhang Wenda said calmly, "It's nothing special. I just inherited my parents' abilities. If they could use them, naturally, so can I."

Tang Xingxiong looked at Zhang Wenda, surprised. "You managed to have a breakthrough with your true self, all on your own? How did you do that?"

Zhang Wenda shook his head. "You don't need to know how I did it. I just want to ask if this meets your previous requirements."

"It's nothing special. Just an attack that crosses the tide of thought. The Big Circle is full of abilities like this," Tang Xingxiong said, feigning nonchalance.

"Is that so? Then what about this?" As Zhang Wenda looked up, the voids covering his body emitted a silent tremor. The wounds on the distant crows seemed to answer a call; the flesh and blood around the injuries writhed and twisted, gradually forming hideous, fleshy maws.

As the maws opened and closed, they not only prevented the wounds from healing but also relentlessly hurled vicious curses at their hosts.

"You piece of trash, you're worthless, you'll never amount to anything! You deserve to die! Go die! DIE!!"

"You shouldn't even exist in this world! Everyone gets hurt because of you!"

As the voices grew more grating, stabbing into the crow's mind like daggers, its psyche instantly destabilized. The caws from its beak filled with agony as it lay on the ground, its eyes brimming with despair.

While the crow was in agony, Zhang Wenda's breathing grew increasingly ragged, as if he were trying to suppress something.

"Stop." At Tang Xingxiong's icy command, the mouths formed from the wounds finally fell silent.

"Interesting. I've never seen such a bizarre evolution. Is this an ability unique to you? Did you just awaken it?"

"You might not be much as a person, but I have to admit, you're a genius in this area. Evolving two variations at once isn't something just anyone can do."

Tang Xingxiong sized up the man before her. "I'm a bit curious. Weren't you going to quit? Didn't you say you couldn't take it anymore? Why choose this path again?"

Observing him closely, Tang Xingxiong noticed that the black voids on Zhang Wenda's body were now more numerous, and barbs had started to appear on the inner curve of the scythes on his body.

Zhang Wenda looked down at his palm, and as he stared at it, it seemed he was also contemplating the power he had just mastered.

"I suddenly realized something. You have to have power to protect the ones you care about. It doesn't matter how you get that power. A weakling's promise is worthless. It's just a joke."

"That may be true, but who is it you want to protect? That innocent, adorable little kitty?"

"My uncle."

The moment the words left Zhang Wenda's mouth, he felt the surrounding temperature drop several degrees.

"Don't you dare mention that piece of trash to me!" The sky full of crows formed a black wall that came crashing down on Zhang Wenda.

Zhang Wenda blurred into an afterimage, rapidly retreating to dodge Tang Xingxiong's attack. "Get out! Leave this place! Go find that disgusting uncle of yours!"

"I would, but he's disappeared again. I don't know when he'll be back this time."

This news finally seemed to calm Tang Xingxiong. "He's gone again? When?"

"Two days ago. He left before dawn, after you two were done drinking that night."

Zhang Wenda then watched as Tang Xingxiong turned her back on him. "Go find someone else. Your uncle has plenty of friends. Even though you've acquired a new ability, I no longer have a use for you."

After a moment's hesitation, Zhang Wenda decided to take a page out of his uncle's book and be shameless. "Why? Just because you suspect I'm a spy? My uncle is part of the Big Circle. Isn't his vouching for me enough? Do you really need to question it? Besides, you said that if I improved my strength, I'd be of great use and could get more benefits. Are you going to go back on your word now... Auntie?"

THUMP! Zhang Wenda had no idea how Tang Xingxiong did it, but by the time he came to his senses, he had been knocked off the massive computer and had crashed into the black-and-white-spotted river below.

A scalding sun was pressed directly into the black hole in his abdomen. Along with searing pain, the skin making contact with the sun began to smoke and let out a continuous SIZZLE.
