INFINITE MEMORIES : MY F-RANK SKILL IS ACTUALLY THE STRONGEST
Chapter 150: AWAKENED COMPASS
<Chapter - 150 Awakened Compass>
The starlight marble of the Pearl Sanctum drank in the warm golden rays filtering through the crystalline dome above the Emerald Lagoon.
In the center of the elevated dais, the rotating astrolabe of Record Fragment #037 (The Meridian Compass) came to an imperceptible, silent halt. The concentric rings of celestial iron and iridescent pearl ceased their spinning, locking into a precise geometric alignment that cast a three-dimensional holographic map of the entire planetary grid across the vaulted ceiling.
Noah Kurtz stood before the terminal, his posture settling naturally into his unhurried slouch.
His hands rested deep within the pockets of his dark woolen coat. His ash-black hair shifted gently in the soft maritime draft, his steel-gray eyes surveying the glowing constellations of ancient anchors with cool, measured detachment. Pinned to his left chest lapel, the dark ironwood leaf brooch absorbed the ambient tidal mana, radiating a tranquil, steady golden pulse directly over his heart. Beneath his dark sleeves, his black ironwood forearm guards lay quiet, their internal kinetic dampening arrays cycling in effortless, zero-waste equilibrium.
Circulate.
Inside his core, the 6.50% Memory Cabinet Synchronization flowed with ancient, immovable depth. The integrated authority of the Coral Key (#035), the Pearl Key (#036), and the newly assimilated Meridian Compass (#037) hummed in unison, clearing away the lingering static of past reincarnations like morning mist burning off the water.
Walking directly beside him, her slender left hand linked seamlessly within his right palm, was Rin Asakura.
Rin wore her ocean-tailored lavender kimono, the deep indigo ribbons along her sleeves fluttering softly in the warm breeze. Her white woolen shawl rested lightly over her shoulders, and her simple wooden practice sword swayed peacefully at her left hip.
Her crystalline violet eyes looked up into the planetary projection, open, clear, and radiant.
Without a blindfold, and with the full depth of Asura’s Touch interwoven with her unsealed void-sight, Rin perceived the immense, subterranean network binding the world together. She didn’t merely see points of light; she saw the pulse of fourteen ancient cycles resting dormant beneath the continents, waiting for the true sovereign to turn their gears.
Slowly, Rin leaned her shoulder gently against Noah’s arm, her delicate fingers tightening their warm, devoted grip within his palm.
"The world was never truly broken, Noah..." Rin whispered softly, her melodic, formal cadence carrying an intimate sweetness that rose into the warm air. "The modern guilds believed the earth had become a barren cemetery of rifts and ruins. But looking through your compass, the earth is merely sleeping, holding its breath until its keeper returns to mend the seams."
Noah turned his head, his steel-gray gaze softening with genuine, unshakeable tenderness as he looked down into her clear violet eyes. He gently squeezed her fingers, his thumb caressing the soft curve of her knuckles with quiet warmth.
"The world only breaks when people forget how it was built, Rin," Noah spoke softly, his flat, rasping whisper carrying the weight of ancient eons. "The Church and the corporate syndicates built their empires on the fractures, pretending that suffering was an unavoidable law of the heavens. But an anchor doesn’t forget its purpose. Once the fourteenth pillar is reset, the sky will never tear open again."
Rin stepped closer into his space, resting her cheek gently against the rough wool of his sleeve while holding their linked hands against her heart.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
"And we shall walk that path together, Noah," Rin murmured, her breath warm against his coat, her eyes glowing with absolute, serene devotion. "To the very end of the fourteenth reset."
Behind them on the pearlescent causeway, the heavy, rhythmic crunch-slap of rubber soles broke the poetic stillness of the dais.
Jiho Park lumbered to his feet from beside the massive pearl pillar, letting out a long, jaw-cracking yawn that echoed like thunder beneath the open arches. The massive S-Rank Juggernaut wore his baggy gray sweatpants and his oversized yellow cotton tank top, stretching his broad shoulders with a dull, heavy pop of compressed muscle. Over his shoulder hung his indestructible canvas duffel bag, still crammed with preserved provisions and heavy ore. In his left hand, he held a massive roasted coconut shell packed with sweet melon pulp and dried abyssal eel strips, chewing with slow, contented crunching noises.
"Man," Jiho mumbled around a mouthful of glazed eel, scratching his messy black hair with a thick finger. "Master, I took a fifteen-minute nap on those vanilla steps and my back feels lighter than a balloon. That giant floating clock on the ceiling is pretty shiny, but does it say when the lunch bell rings? Alistair told me the galley ovens can bake sweet honey buns using the lagoon’s heat vents."
"You can eat as many honey buns as you want once we finalize the departure vectors, Jiho," Noah replied smoothly, a faint, dry smirk touching the corner of his lips.
"Master, you are the true god of logistics," Jiho beamed sleepily, nodding with deep, reverent gratitude as he scooped out another bite of melon. "I will defend the bakery with my life."
Strolling lightly along the outer colonnade to Noah’s left, Chloe Harrington caught her silver coin with an effortless, rhythmic snap.
Clink.
She wore her dark leather duster unbuttoned over a light linen shirt, her dead platinum revolvers resting quietly in their holsters. Her sharp amber eyes sparkled with brilliant golden probability lines as she tracked the newly revealed planetary coordinates overhead.
"Probability vectors for the surface transition: completely favorable, Boss," Chloe reported with a sharp, rebellious smirk. "The Church’s naval blockade in the northern seas is entirely neutralized. But look at the continental sector back home. The International Hunter Association has convened an emergency global summit in the capital. The corporate heads are panicking because the northern mana wells have completely dried up."
"It’s not just a panic, Chloe, it’s a full systemic crisis!" Alistair Vance blurted out, breathlessly sprinting up the final tier of marble while clutching his brass-rimmed walking spectacles.
Alistair carried his portable espresso rig strapped securely to his chest, clutching a steaming ceramic mug of dark roast in one hand and his glowing holographic tablet in the other. He pointed toward the pulsating nexus on the planetary projection.
"Boss! The Meridian Compass has revealed the location of the Central Continental Rift Anchor!" Alistair shouted, his voice cracking with manic academic awe. "It sits directly beneath the High Sanctum of the Archive Church in the capital! The Church hasn’t just been hoarding relics; they built their grand basilica directly on top of the world’s primary stabilization engine, siphoning its energy to fuel their divine authority! If we dismantle that anchor, their entire institutional hierarchy will crumble like wet chalk!"
Noah Kurtz stepped up to the edge of the pearl balcony, his steel-gray eyes cold, clinical, and completely empty of hesitation.
The peaceful days in the sunken paradise of Coralis had served their purpose. His meridians were fully consolidated, his companions were rested and fortified, and the forgotten keys of extinct civilizations were assembled in his grasp. The time for quiet retreat in the deep waters was coming to an end; the surface world was waiting for its reckoning.
DING.

Noah pulled his left hand from his coat pocket, resting it lightly upon Rin’s shoulder before sliding his arm around her waist with quiet, unbreakable warmth.
Rin looked up at him, her crystalline violet eyes shining with radiant affection, unyielding strength, and eternal trust. She leaned comfortably against his side, her small hand covering his where it rested at her hip.
"The ship is ready, Noah..." Rin murmured softly, her breath warm against his lapel. "The sea has given us its strength. Now let us return to the sky."
Noah looked out toward the Aethelgard, moored peacefully in the turquoise waters below, then raised his gaze toward the crystalline dome that separated them from the heavens.
"Jiho, Chloe, Alistair," Noah spoke flatly, his rasping whisper carrying the immovable, terrifying calm of the Ashen Sovereign. "Pack the provisions and fire the propulsion turbines. We’re going back to the mainland."
