Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse

Chapter 5358: It Reigns Supreme! II

Chapter 5358: It Reigns Supreme! II

The instant the words left his mouth, his own Akashic Civilizational Intent erupted out of him and flooded into the singularity.

It spun faster. Faster still, drinking down the Intent, winding tighter and tighter, and then, in the very next breath.

BOOM! CRACK!

Crystalline metallic cracks tore outward in every direction at once, and space itself split, permanently, the fracture racing through the chamber and up through the great tree and out across the drifting region beyond it, all of it accompanied by a sound like the world’s own bones breaking clean through. And something began to leak from the singularity. Something that had been waiting on the other side of it!

A decrepit gray-blue finger pushed out of the spinning point.

It paused there a moment, turning, taking in the chamber, the nine Fifth Scale beings, the crystalline tree, the spreading fracture in the fabric of the world, the way a thing wakes and looks around a room it has just entered!

And then it shot toward Borys at a speed that even Fifth Scale existences could not track, crossing the whole chamber before any of them had finished registering that it had begun to move, and it drove into his chest and sank in to the knuckle and beyond!

BOOM!

Borys felt the impact only after it had already happened.

And what crossed his face was a glorious, shining excitement. His existence began to buzz, low and rising, the crown of Infinity and Avaritia spinning faster and faster above his horns, and he laughed, soft and delighted and entirely without fear, as his whole being filled with an air of oppression so heavy that the other eight Mesozoic Scale beings drew back from him, away from whatever it was he was turning into!

His hand rose and touched his own face, fingertips against his cheek, as if to confirm he was still there underneath the buzzing.

"The supremacy of the Source Lifeforms must come to an end," he said, very softly. "It must. We are weak. I will be the first one in this chamber to say it plainly, because the ones who cannot bring themselves to say it are exactly the ones who stay weak forever. We are not the great deciders of wars and struggles. We do not sit at the top of existence handing down our judgments to the rest. But everything has to start somewhere. Even the weak can begin a change, if only they are willing to become something the strong never thought to account for."

His buzzing existence pressed outward through the broken chamber.

"So from this moment forward, we wage war against the supremacy of the Source Lifeforms. We have to. We have. For who are they, who has any of them ever been, to look at Infinity and rank it beneath THE Primordial Source?"

His eyes burned in the fractured dark.

"Infinity reigns supreme. It reigns supreme. It has to. It has to."

HUUM!

---

The Source Leaf-Vessel broke out of THE Undefined Gaps, and Arkethys opened around them like something that had been waiting a very long time to be looked at.

The first thing was the light. It came from nowhere and everywhere, born inside the stone itself rather than falling from any sun, an obsidian blue glow that lived in the crystal and the metal and pulsed faintly with the bound authorities suspended in their lattice. The region drifted in pieces, vast crystalline landmasses turning in slow ancient orbits through a void that pressed down on everything within it, and across those landmasses the banded veins of metal caught the glow and threw it back in colors that had no names, deep noir shot through with blue, the whole place shining like the inside of something that should not have been opened!

Noah took it in with the calm of a being who had seen a great many domains and still found this one worth a moment of his attention.

|Arrival confirmed: THE Arkethys Observable Existence.|

|Environmental composition: A void domain saturated with bound, unstable Infinity and Primordial Source, the signature of Eridarch Ore distributed throughout the crystalline strata. The ambient pressure of these two authorities, held in their unnatural lattice, exerts continuous environmental harm on any existence present. Third Scale beings perish from prolonged exposure alone. The domain grows more unstable the more it is mined, and current readings indicate the instability is rising. Disturbance of Ore deposits risks cascade detonation. Treat the air itself as a hazard.|

The warning was accurate. Noah could feel it, the slow grinding pressure that wanted into his foundations, the bound Infinity and Primordial Source pressing on him from every direction at once!

It landed on him like rain on a roof.

He stood on the deck of the leaf with Seo-yeon on his shoulder, and the two of them simply withstood the environment of Arkethys without doing anything about it at all. He did not raise a defense. He did not channel his Aura. He did not need to!

Hah!

THE Aura of THE Source Barbarian sat over his existence as a permanent expression, and the Pure Primordial Source budding within him drank the ambient pressure as though it were a courtesy rather than a threat.

Beside his ear, Seo-yeon watched the drifting crystal with bright curious eyes, equally untroubled, her dual nature as both Infinite and Source Lifeform making the lethal air of the place feel to her like weather she happened to find pretty.

She continued to be a terrifying existence!

The Swords noticed. Botswana glanced at the pair of them, at the new Sword and the small girl standing comfortably in an atmosphere that demanded active defense from everyone else aboard, and said nothing, though his grim mouth twitched at one corner.

Dame Seraphine guided the Leaf-Vessel inward, toward a structure rising out of the largest cluster of drifting landmasses, and that structure resolved as they neared it into a citadel built around mines.

It was a citadel of crystalline excavation, towers and halls and great open shafts grown and carved from the same obsidian-blue crystal as everything else, the whole of it organized around the veins of Eridarch Ore that ran beneath and through it.

Scaffolding of pale metal threaded the shafts. Refineries glowed at the citadel’s heart, slow and careful, the controlled extraction that the Treaty of Arkethys demanded. And moving through all of it, thousands of them, were Source Lifeforms.

Noah read the weight of them as the leaf descended. Many at the Fourth Scale, their Existential Radiation pressing in dense controlled coils.

And not a few at the Fifth, THE Mesozoic Scale, moving among the lesser ones with the unhurried gravity of beings the rest of the citadel organized itself around.

The leaf settled, and a small group came to meet them.

Three Fifth Scale existences stood at the front of the welcome, beings of obsidian gravity whose presence pressed even against the ambient hostility of Arkethys and made the air around them feel, by contrast, almost still.

They inclined their heads to Dame Seraphine with the respect of equals greeting an equal, the specific courtesy of powerful beings who did not extend such courtesy lightly.

"Seraphine," the foremost of them said, a tall figure whose Existential Radiation ran the color of deep water. "Haha, you came yourself. We are glad its you!"

...!
