Chapter 5319: Terrifying! I
Chapter 5319: Terrifying! I
"You held the endings back," he said, and he wasn’t sure whether he was speaking to THE Mortis Cause or to the child anchoring it. "You treated every ending as a catastrophe to prevent. That’s why it hurt so much. You were holding back something that wanted to happen, every moment, forever."
He reached into THE Mortis Cause and began the final transformation.
"Endings aren’t catastrophes," he said. "They’re beginnings that haven’t finished arriving yet."
...!
THE Prime Cause of Apocalypse flowed from his Infinite Cause into THE Mortis Cause, not removing it but transforming it, the truth that destruction was the precondition for creation overwriting the truth that endings were simply endings. And as it transformed, the endings that Seo-yeon had been holding back stopped being things that needed holding back. They became transitions.
They became the violent beginnings of what came next. The pressure she had carried, the agony of holding closed a door that everything pushed against, eased, because the door was no longer holding back catastrophe.
It was channeling transformation, and transformation wanted to move, and letting it move did not hurt the way holding it still had.
Seo-yeon’s small hand trembled in his.
BOOM!
Boundless multicolored strings surged from all across Chernobyl, from every transformed region, from every newly installed Prime Cause, and connected to Noah simultaneously!
OOOOOH!
Existence roared!
The entire Observable Existence reached toward the being who had rebuilt its foundation, and a blinding multicolored light began to radiate from him, growing brighter and denser and more concentrated until it pressed against the limits of what the space could contain.
Then it released.
The pulse of his Infinite Cause exploded outward from him like a singularity reaching its threshold and inverting, a wave of his Infinite Cause permeating across the entire Observable Existence of Chernobyl, carrying the new Prime Causes into every coordinate, backing the rebuilt First Cause with the full weight of a Cause as mighty as any that had ever birthed an Observable Existence!
Regal energies raged across Chernobyl. Wonder and immensity and the grandeur of a foundational axiom coming back to life!
Action complete: THE First Cause of Chernobyl has been resuscitated.
The failing common Prime Causes of Chernobyl have been removed and replaced with your integrated Prime Causes. THE Mortis Cause has been transformed into THE Prime Cause of Apocalypse. THE First Cause of Chernobyl is no longer decaying. It is being backed by THE Infinite Cause and rebuilt around your Prime Cause architecture.
THE Observable Existence of Chernobyl is no longer on a path toward destruction. It is on a path toward emergence into something new, an Observable Existence built around your Prime Causes and backed by your Infinite Cause.
Consequence for THE Infinite Cause: Your Infinite Cause now carries the backing and weight of a second Observable Existence. Where it previously carried the weight of THE Infiniverse’s emergence, it now also carries Chernobyl’s resuscitation and transformation. The grandeur and authority of THE Infinite Cause has increased accordingly. It is becoming something that backs multiple Observable Existences rather than one.
Anchor status: The Infinite Lifeform Seo-yeon is no longer required to hold THE Mortis Cause. THE Prime Cause of Apocalypse is self-sustaining within the rebuilt First Cause. She is free.
The agony that had defined her existence for eons faded.
Her small body, which had spun in the storm of endings for longer than measurement, went still in his grip, the pain that had contorted her face for the entire duration of her held existence simply gone, replaced by an expression that a child’s face was actually meant to hold.
She looked up at Noah as tears began to fall from her eyes!
---
At a distance, Sir William and the three Source Lifeforms appeared.
They looked at Noah in silence.
Not one of them said a word. The four of them, Swords of Existence and a sponsor among them, beings of immense power who had seen things across eons that most existences never glimpsed, hung in the transformed air of Chernobyl and watched what was happening with an incredulity that none of them attempted to hide because hiding it would have required a composure that the moment had taken from them!
The decay was fading. The death was fading. Across the regions of Chernobyl, the failing Causes had become blazing Prime Causes, the torn dimensional fabric was knitting around new foundations, the burning golden mountains of terminal infinity were cooling into something that no longer consumed without producing. This was no longer a dying Observable Existence!
It was being reborn.
They were powerful enough to understand exactly what they were witnessing. That was the part that took the composure from them. A lesser observer might have mistaken it for a powerful technique or a dramatic display. They could not!
They understood, with the full clarity of beings who knew what an Observable Existence was and what its death meant and what its First Cause represented, that a Trial Sword had reached into a dying foundational axiom and rebuilt it!
How?! HOW! HOW?!
HUUM!
Their expressions went from incredulous to something heavier.
Sir William’s face became heavy, and then slightly frantic, a quality Noah had not seen on him in any prior encounter.
"Lock everything down," he said to the others, his measured cadence pressed by an urgency that overrode its composure. "All around THE Undefined Gaps of Chernobyl. Do not let weavings of any records of what is happening here escape. Nothing leaves. Nothing is recorded. Nothing is known!"
The three Source Lifeforms moved immediately, the gravity of Sir William’s tone reaching them before his reasoning did, but the reasoning was not difficult to arrive at.
A dying Observable Existence, brought back. A First Cause, resuscitated and rebuilt. This was knowledge, and knowledge of this kind was among the most dangerous things that could exist, because the implications of it reached in every direction at once.
If it could be known that a being could do this, then every dying domain became a resource, every failing Cause became an opportunity, and every faction in existence that had ever wanted to control the foundations of reality would want the being who had just demonstrated it could be done.
They could not let others know!
THE Gilded Ones could not know. The Infinite Lifeforms could not know. No one could know, because the moment they knew, everything changed, and not one of the beings present had any interest in finding out what it changed into!
Sir William looked at Noah, at the child resting still and free in his grip, at the Observable Existence being reborn around them both.
He said nothing more.
There was nothing yet that adequate words existed for!
