Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse

Chapter 4900: The Second Cause II

Chapter 4900: The Second Cause II

As immense changes began to unfold across Observable Existence, in THE Infiniverse, Noah’s body that had been discussing with THE Mnemonic Leviathan was forced to pause.

He sensed the many changes that were occurring through different bodies as he was currently in multiple positions across Observable Existence. One body wrapped protective Infinities around THE Great Usurper and his companions as proto-matter flooded THE Wastes. Another body raced alongside THE Primordial Paradox toward the Crack in THE Agora. Another sensed as THE Infiniverse bellowed with authority and funneled corrupted undifferentiation into her budding singularity.

The eruption of power caused him to think about many things. The synchronicity of it all pointed toward deliberate orchestration rather than natural disaster. Someone had initiated this, and whoever they were possessed the capability to affect every corner of Observable Existence simultaneously, and of course...

Before he could theorize too much regarding what was coming, the ancient voice of the lazy dolphin in front of him began to talk. This creature with all the knowledge, or most of the knowledge in Observable Existence, spoke with weight that demanded attention despite the chaos unfolding around them.

"The Vakochev Scales of Existence whisper the names of some who are grand and distinguished."

Her massive form shifted in the stellar seas of Muspelheim as her eyes, ancient beyond measure, fixed upon Noah with intensity that belied her typically sleepy demeanor.

"Not all who achieve power earn such whispers. But there are those whose actions resonate so profoundly through the foundations of Existence that the Scales themselves take notice, recording their deeds as reference points for all who might follow. One such being is Masamuk, whose name I speak now so that you might understand what is unfolding around us."

...!

She had begun to babble about some nonsense, and Noah almost asked what any of this had to do with the proto-matter currently flooding across Observable Existence. But when she spoke the last sentence, when she connected this ancient history to current events, he fell quiet and continued to listen.

THE Mnemonic Leviathan continued with a voice that held the weight of memories accumulated across eons.

"In the age before ages, when Existence was young and the boundaries between what was and what was not remained fluid and uncertain, there existed a being who looked upon the formless expanse of primordial Chaos and saw within it the potential for something greater. This being was Masamuk, and unlike those who came before, Masamuk did not merely exist within Chaos or alongside it. Masamuk acted upon it with intention."

Her massive tail shifted through the stellar currents as she spoke.

"Masamuk split the body of Chaos itself. Not with authority, for authority as we understand it had not yet been differentiated from raw potential. Masamuk split Chaos through the sheer force of will that declared division where unity had reigned since before time learned to flow. The act was violent and beautiful and necessary, a severing that created possibility where only homogeneity had existed before."

"From the halves of that sundered Chaos, Masamuk fashioned the territories that would become the first Domains. These were not Primordial Realms as you know them, not structured territories governed by laws and principles. They were the precursors to such things, the rough sketches from which later beings would learn to draw their own weavings. Masamuk looked upon the divided Chaos and shaped it, molded it, convinced it to remember the forms that Masamuk envisioned rather than collapsing back into undifferentiated potential."

Her eyes grew distant as if she was recalling whispers that echoed across dimensions Noah couldn’t perceive.

"This was the first great Cause of differentiation through Chaos under the record of Masamuk, as only at this time did he become a true follower of Vakochev. Masamuk understood something that many beings across eons would fail to grasp: that Chaos is not the enemy of creation but its raw material. That undifferentiation is not the opposite of civilization but the clay from which civilization is sculpted. By splitting Chaos rather than fleeing from it or being consumed by it, Masamuk demonstrated that the formless could be given form by those with sufficient will and vision."

"Through this act, Masamuk embarked upon a Civilization unlike any that had existed before, becoming worthy of having his name whispered across the Scales of Existence. The methodology that Masamuk pioneered became the path that others would walk."

"The Scales of Existence recorded Masamuk’s name not because of power accumulated or enemies defeated, but because Masamuk changed the fundamental nature of what existence could be in his domains. This is what it means to walk a grand path. This is what it means to earn The Whisper of THE Scales."

...!

THE Mnemonic Leviathan dropped such ridiculous bombs casually, as if she was discussing the musings of minor things.

Noah was wondering in the beginning as to who this Masamuk could refer to, but it now became abundantly clear that they weren’t even someone belonging to what he knew as Observable Existence. Yet their names were whispered in the Vakochev Scales of Existence, recorded as reference points for all who might follow.

This led him to ask himself a question that he had not considered before.

How could he hear these same whispers that THE Mnemonic Leviathan heard?

Was this also the same way that THE Primordial Paradox came to know regarding adversity and hardship being required toward THE Second Scale of Existence? Had THE Primordial Paradox heard whispers from the Scales that told him what was necessary for progression?

As Noah was thinking all of this, THE Mnemonic Leviathan continued with her ancient voice that held the weight of accumulated knowledge.

"Another such being is Ongatala, whose methodology differed from Masamuk’s but whose impact proved equally profound. Where Masamuk looked outward and divided external Chaos, Ongatala looked inward and created internal structure. Where Masamuk fashioned Domains from the halves of what was split, Ongatala fashioned lands from what was scattered within the depths of self."
