Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse

Chapter 4142 Collective Ascendancy! IV

Chapter 4142 Collective Ascendancy! IV

The response was immediate and overwhelming.

Verdant gold light erupted from his form, not merely surrounding him but seeming to emerge from every cell, every particle of his being!

Above him, clouds that had no business existing in the controlled atmosphere of the Early Veiled Shore began to form…green-gold cumulus that roiled with internal light, as if someone had captured the essence of harvest season and given it meteorological form.

A pillar of light descended from these impossible clouds, connecting heaven to earth…if such terms even applied in a space that existed outside normal dimensional constraints.

The light embraced him, welcomed him, celebrated him!

HUUM!

The sensation was indescribable in its completeness. It was like sinking into a hot spring after eons of travel through frozen wastes, every tension dissolving, every accumulated stress washing away in waves of pure possibility.

It was being recognized by existence itself for efforts that others might not even notice, being rewarded for trying when trying seemed pointless, being told that yes, what you did mattered, what you endured had meaning, what you attempted had value beyond measure!

The prompts began their cascade, each one a note in a symphony of acknowledgment.

Harvest Festival Endowment activated

Target: Self

Measuring accumulated efforts since last harvest...

Note: Effort to stand against Early Creatures recognized

Note: Effort to form new existences recognized

Note: Effort of Quintessence recognized

And then the number that made everything else fade into background noise:

Complexity gained: +4,100,000,000,000 (+4.1 Trillion)

Purity gained: +4,100,000,000,000 (+4.1 Trillion)

The waves of light gradually calmed, drawing back into his form like an ocean returning to its depths, but his eyes... his eyes continued to radiate with verdant fire that suggested he had looked upon something that mortal minds weren't meant to comprehend and had decided to comprehend it anyway!

Four point one trillion.

From a single Glyph.

This… was a complete rewriting of what advancement meant! At ten percent maturation of a Principle, he had unlocked the ability to effectively grant nearly half the power of a Duke with a wave of his hand. To himself. To others. To anyone he deemed worthy of such impossible elevation.

This was balance-breaking on a scale that made previous violations of fairness look like minor infractions! This was the kind of power that shouldn't exist, that couldn't exist, that absolutely did exist because he had made it so!

A smile crossed his face…not the gentle smile of satisfaction, not the cruel smile of superiority.

If existence wanted to be unfair, if it wanted to stack the deck, manipulate the odds, change the rules mid-game... then he would be even more unfair in return.

He would be tyrannically unfair.

With that thought crystallizing into decision, he turned his head toward a figure who stood among the others on his Shore, distinct in her bearing, unique in her nature, irreplaceable in her significance.

Sigrid.

"Come!" The single word carried across the space between them with the weight of command and invitation combined.

The word hit Sigrid like a physical force, though she would never admit it.

Her heart…that organ that was supposed to be ordered, controlled, perfectly regulated by her nature as THE Living Order, skipped a beat.

Then another. Then settled into a rhythm that was technically regular but felt anything but.

Before her conscious mind could even process the command, her existence had already responded!

Her feet moved across the golden sands with grace that belied the chaos in her thoughts, each step bringing her closer to him, to Noah, to the man who had somehow become the axis around which her supposedly ordered existence revolved.

'Ah...'

The internal lament echoed through her consciousness with a mixture of frustration and something else she refused to name.

She was THE Living Order. Not just any Living Order, not one among many, but THE Living Order. Singular. Unique. Fundamental to existence itself.

Her thoughts should be occupied with maintaining the balance of reality, with ensuring that chaos didn't overwhelm structure, with the grand responsibilities that came with being a foundational force of existence.

Instead, every thought seemed to lead back to him.

To the way he moved through impossibility as if it were simply another medium to navigate.

To the way his smile could shift from gentle to dangerous in the space between heartbeats. To the way he had bound her…not through force or coercion, but through something far more insidious.

She wasn't some common girl lost in romantic fantasies. She wasn't in love or anything so mundane as that... right? The question mark at the end of that thought irritated her more than she cared to admit. But this man before her had a way about him, a magnetic pull she couldn't explain through any framework of Order she understood.

It couldn't just be the binding, could it? That would be too simple, too mechanical, too... ordered.

No, it was more than that. He had done things she couldn't even conceive of before witnessing them. Planting Inevitabilities as if they were common seeds. Maintaining a doorway into remnants of the Earliest Folds.

Actually traveling into the Earliest Folds themselves and returning not just alive but stronger.

She had thought…foolishly, she now realized, that by his side, she would be the unique one. The special one. After all, she was THE Living Order. What could be more exceptional than that?

Yet he seemed to collect exceptional beings the way others collected interesting stones!

Each one unique, each one impossible in their own way, each one drawn into his orbit through means that defied conventional understanding.

Her eyes sharpened as she briefly turned to look toward Khor, THE Living Hunger, surrounded by the golden light of the Shore.

Even that impossible being, that creature from the Earliest Folds, seemed content to simply exist within Noah's domain.

She came to a stop before him, her expression carefully neutral, her bearing perfectly composed!

She would not let him see the effect he had on her. She would not give him that satisfaction. She would maintain her dignity as THE Living Order even if her heart insisted on beating with distinctly disordered enthusiasm.

After all, had she not given up her Disorder?

"My Order," he said, and the possessive pronoun sent another jolt through her carefully maintained composure. "Focus on me, why don't you?"

His finger, burning with the light of harvest and thrumming with complexity that made the air itself denser, reached out and gently turned her chin upward.

The touch was minimal, barely contact at all, yet it sent electricity racing through every pathway of her existence. She felt her carefully ordered internal structure threaten to reorganize itself around that single point of contact!

She would not allow him to see how powerfully she could melt in his arms! She would not. She would remain strong, composed, ordered.

She nodded seriously, her expression giving away nothing of the chaos beneath.

"What is your current complexity and purity after absorbing the Organ?" he asked, his voice carrying genuine curiosity mixed with something else…anticipation, perhaps, or the particular satisfaction of someone about to share a gift they knew would overwhelm.

"Five trillion," she replied softly, the number feeling somehow insignificant when spoken aloud despite representing power that would make most existences dissolve from proximity alone.

Noah nodded, and she caught that smile again…the one that suggested he knew secrets that reality itself hadn't discovered yet. "Very well. Unto you, I shall have the Harvest Festival Endowment bloom in full."

…!
