Chapter 3780: Fold Dwellers III
Chapter 3780: Fold Dwellers III
Golden beams tore through the crumbling firmament like the hands of destiny itself, unfurling across the shattered skies above the Middle Wheel Platform. They descended not with violence, but with purpose, each shaft of light carrying within it a figure- or rather, an inevitability shaped into flesh and weaving.
Five in total.
Three men. Two women.
Each clad in gleaming robes of woven gold, their hems stitched with runes of collapsed suns and rising fates. Hair like molten metal- white, gold, platinum, crowned them, gleaming beneath the broken skies. The complexity and purity radiating from their beings was not just overwhelming- it was absolute.
Their presence bent the air.
As they settled around Kalysta, Existence itself seemed to breathe easier, if only for a moment. The ground beneath them stopped its trembling, the ruinous gravity of the Living Collapse’s authority halting at the edges of their luminance.
And still, they did not draw swords, nor raise hands.
They merely stood.
A shield not of might, but of inevitability.
They were not simple Primarchs. No, these beings bore titles few could claim in the Folds.
They seemed like one of the higher echelons of beings of the Veiled Sunfolds.
The Living Collapse halted its forward momentum, void-filled gaze assessing the sudden obstruction. Not with fear. Not even with caution. But with a cold, animal curiosity, the way a predator might study a blade it had never seen drawn before.
They stood like the turning of seasons, immutable and calm.
I watched- not in haste, not in alarm, but in quiet analysis.
The five arranged themselves around Kalysta, forming not a wall, but a dome of inevitability.
One of the women- her hair a river of flowing silver, her eyes ancient wells of magisterial certainty, turned toward Kalysta.
A small smile.
The kind of smile one reserved for cherished family and close ones.
“It is not your time to die yet, dear Kalysta,” she said, her voice soft as it could be, but woven with the iron of prophecy.
Kalysta blinked.
The silver-haired woman tilted her head, robes shifting, gleaming with layered destiny.
“The Veiled Sunfolds,” she continued, “have released an Existential Destiny. You are named within it.”
A pause.
“You are one of the critical pieces in the unfolding future of nearby Folds.”
Kalysta’s lips parted in surprise, but only for a breath. She recovered quickly, the steel beneath her golden eyes shining through as she nodded, slow and solemn.
I watched the exchange as the weaving of possibilities unfolded before my eyes.
And the prompts unfurled before me.

…!
I breathed in slowly.
The Fold Dwellers of the Veiled Sunfolds had moved from their dwellings and arrived.
And they had not sent their lesser hands.
They had sent their Solstice Veil.
Beings who stood not just near Primarchy, but near the conceptual boundaries of what Primarchs could become.
The Living Collapse tilted its head again, studying these new figures, its body still but thrumming with that terrible, patient hunger.
Light fractured and bent across the bruised skies, the gravity of the moment weighing on the Middle Wheel Platform like a suffocating mist.
I remained seated, still within the crumbling skeleton of the Cradle of Folded Time, my posture composed, indifferent to the chaos unfolding. Lattices of Light wreathed my skin, calm as the hush before a predator’s strike, capturing everything.
After the arrival of the Solstice Veils of the Veiled Sunfolds, more quickly made their entry as if their arrivals were ordained to occur one by one.
Other Fold Dwellers!
Many eyes rose up in relief as it seemed help was arriving.
The Fold Dwellers of the Mannafolds descended first, massive beings of celestial weave, the glimmer of ancient cerulean tides hanging heavy on their shoulders.
Their eyes were calm, but their power was evident.
They appeared with seas of blue around their people while glaring at the Living Collapse that stood still.
Soon followed the Time Elderkings from the Chronosect, the ripples of broken epochs trailing like faint afterimages behind their forms as they appeared near the Time Sentinels.
I spared them no more than a moment’s attention.
Strength.
This was all they were, and nothing more.
Numbers.
Pieces on a grand board.
Temporary obstacles or useful shields- the form they would take depended entirely on how events unfolded.
A faint whisper of prompts unfurled at the edge of my vision as their details unfolded.

…!
I studied them.
Measured.
Calculated.
Capable of resisting the Living Collapse? Perhaps. Capable of winning? Doubtful.
But capable of bleeding- yes.
Capable of providing a momentary opening and more data? Yes.
The true strength to kill that thing wasn’t present among them.
Not yet.
But that was fine.
I did not need them to win.
I needed them to stall.
To offer me the chance to observe, to learn, to adapt.
After all, we were all pieces on top of a grand board, and all that mattered was how much control one had.
Just pieces.
Nothing more.
Caedryn of the Sun Beyond Dawn spoke, his words heavy with righteousness.
“What manner of creature are you, to bring such ruin?”
The Living Collapse tilted its head.
Mocking.
“Dwellers of these accursed Folds,” it said, voice a slow grinding echo, “you come here to protect something you do not understand. You come to protect a grievous Sin.”
It didn’t need to specify.
I already knew.
My hand folded loosely, expression blank, gaze cold.
The Sin was me.
Not Noah Osmont.
But what I was becoming.
An Anchor Being.
A budding Living Paradox.
I felt no fear.
No indignation.
Only the clinical awareness that I would need to kill this creature eventually, or ensure that it was killed.
Not because it threatened my life- though it did.
But because it stood between me and the path ahead.
And all obstacles must eventually be removed.
It spoke again, soft as a knife sliding into flesh.
“My purpose is to erase the Sin of the Unbound Living Paradox.”
A breath.
A moment of stillness.
“As many times as needed.”
…!
I leaned back slightly, gaze half-lidded.
The Fold Dwellers bristled- righteous anger and outrage rising, the foolish emotion of those who thought they could change inevitability with enough fury.
They would fight.
They would bleed.
They may die.
I would learn.
And when the time was right, when I had what I needed…
I would act.
Because unlike them, I did not fight for ideals.
I did not fight for survival.
I fought only for certainty.
For the inevitable. For Tyranny. For Quintessence!
