Chapter 240 - 202: Concocting a Magic Potion
Chapter 240: Chapter 202: Concocting a Magic Potion
Outside Two Realms City, three figures, their appearances concealed, were fleeing.
"Aurora, didn’t you say you could manipulate dreams at will? He’s just Master Level, how could you screw up so badly?" Vincent said angrily.
"He’s no ordinary Master Level. That person’s bloodline is unusual, perhaps it’s Divine Blood..."
Even now, a hint of shock and uncertainty lingered in Saya’s eyes. She had only felt such an aura once before, from the Lord of Entropy.
"Go, go! There are swords! So many swords!"
Lucian’s eyes were filled with panic. He had seen many possible futures, but not a single one had a good outcome.
They were all slaughtered by blades, without exception.
The three Legendary Level experts were fleeing at a considerable speed, but in Dugu Yunfeng’s eyes, it was nowhere near fast enough.
When it came to speed and offense, Sword Cultivators were the absolute pinnacle.
His speed was at least double that of the three Legendary experts.
A flash of sword light streaked through the void as Dugu Yunfeng’s sword descended.
The sword light was sharp and swift. It passed through Lucian in an instant, and in the next moment, his body was covered in dense sword marks, sealing all the Energy Particles within him.
Lucian was instantly frozen on the spot.
In a single exchange, the Eleventh Seat of the Crown of Sin Thorns, the "Delirium Lighthouse," Lucian Dazzle, was captured alive.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Saya and Vincent split up and fled.
But it was pointless.
Dugu Yunfeng raised his fingers, and a massive number of blades flew out from his Sword Box, splitting into two groups. One headed for Saya, the other for Vincent.
Seeing that he couldn’t escape, Vincent summoned two throwing axes from his Spatial Ring.
On the outside, these two throwing axes looked like a pair of pens.
In fact, their primary function was indeed that of pens.
They were used for writing contracts.
Vincent’s true ability was to use Contract Magic to restrain and interrogate people.
Of course, his combat prowess wasn’t weak either—he was a Legendary Level expert, after all.
But "not weak" was a relative term.
Even though Dugu Yunfeng, at his absolute peak and fighting alongside his junior brother, had been utterly crushed by Zhang Ji back then, it didn’t mean he was weak.
On the contrary, Dugu Yunfeng was extremely powerful.
Now, his Sword Sea of five hundred million blades had dwindled to less than one hundred million, yet to deal with these three, he had only used less than a million blades.
The gap between them was no small matter.
The two throwing axes were hurled, propelled by Magic Power. They spun in the air, forming a meat grinder intent on shredding everything in its path.
"CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG~!"
Countless blades collided with them, seemingly getting knocked away.
But suddenly, the throwing axes froze in place.
The blades had interlinked, forming a Sword Array—a Sword Net that bound the axes within it.
At the same time, sword light flashed repeatedly. In the forest where Vincent stood, hundreds of trees were instantly sliced in half.
Thousands of sword marks appeared on Vincent’s body.
The Eighth Seat, "The Eternal Corrector," Vincent Mispage, was also captured alive.
Only Saya was still trying to escape.
The Fourth Seat’s strength was indeed a cut above the others.
But to Dugu Yunfeng, that was all it was—a cut above.
The Sword Array had already blocked all of Saya’s escape routes. Dugu Yunfeng’s figure transformed into a flash of sword light and appeared before her, trapping her within the array.
"You’ve crossed the line," Dugu Yunfeng said flatly.
Zhang Ji, Dugu Yunfeng, and even the entire high command of the Arcane Federation knew that people would come to investigate. It was obvious.
Zhang Ji had no intention of having Dugu Yunfeng and the others hide anything. He had even openly displayed many things for them to see and investigate.
Only by letting others know of the Saint King Council’s power and sophistication could they achieve better cooperation.
Zhang Ji didn’t plan to do business with just the Arcane Federation; he was open to doing business with every faction in the entire Lan’er World.
But while investigating was one thing, attacking his people was another matter entirely.
That was why Dugu Yunfeng said they had crossed the line.
"Fall into a world of dreams~!"
Unflustered, Saya gave Dugu Yunfeng a smile as the Dream Flower ornament on her head began to glow.
Her Dream Magic was powerful, considered quite strong even among Legendary Level experts. Within the Crown of Sin Thorns, everyone except the First Seat would be at least somewhat affected by it.
But this time, she had used her Magic on the wrong person.
Dugu Yunfeng’s resistance to Illusion Skills was absurdly high.
A Swordsman who has achieved Sword Heart Clarity might die, but they would never die from doubting their Sword Heart and falling into a cognitive illusion.
His heart was unyielding and without regret. He would never doubt any of his actions, let alone harbor any regrets about the past.
Even when the Floating City fell, he never once looked back.
His only thought was how to establish a new order amidst the ruins.
’Too weak. Not even half as good as Ling Xuzi’s Red Dust Tribulation!’
Dugu Yunfeng made his assessment.
Then came an instantaneous flash of ten thousand sword lights.
With that, the Fourth Seat, the "Dream Weaver with Empty Eyes," Saya Aurora, was also subdued.
...
Back in Two Realms City.
Balder was mixing a healing Magic Potion for Giles.
"Hold on, dude. I can understand the leaves, but are you sure you’re adding an eyeball? And what’s that? Hair? Scales?"
Giles’s head was full of question marks; he was about to lose his mind.
"The leaves are green leaves imbued with the aura of the Eternal Saint Tree, possessing powerful life force. The eyeball is from a Demon Eye Crow. Their Spiritual Power is immense and can replenish your depleted Spirit. As for the hair, I noticed your fur is a bit curly, so this is wool from a long-haired sheep to help condition it. The scales are from an earth dragon. They’re omnivores, and I figured you might be low on vitamins, so this can give you some trace elements..."
Balder explained to Giles as he mixed the ingredients, infused them with Magic Power, and stirred the cup.
"Can I get a different doctor?"
Giles’s skin was starting to crawl.
This didn’t seem like medicine at all; it was more like primitive Witchcraft!
"I’m already the best Alchemist in Logan," Balder said. "Across the entire Arcane Federation, the only one definitively better than me is the president of the Alchemist Association, and he’s a Legendary Level Alchemist. In terms of pure potion-crafting technique, though, he’s actually about the same as me. He just has a more exquisite grasp of the changes in etheric Magic Power."
As he spoke, he stopped stirring.
The concoction of so many ingredients in the cup had now been stirred into a murky liquid that emitted a faint blue glow.
Balder handed it to Giles and said, "Drink this. You should be fine afterward."
Giles hesitated. "Seriously, your technique just now was very impressive. I’d like to see it again."
"Learning to craft Magic Potions requires a lot of talent," Balder said. "If you just want to watch a performance, I’m running low on materials here, and those ingredients aren’t easy to find. Hurry up and drink. If it’s exposed to the air for too long, the active ether particles will change form, and the potion’s effectiveness will dissipate quickly."
After mentally preparing himself, Giles picked up the cup and carefully took a sip.
"Hm?"
It was surprisingly tasty, with a hint of pork chop flavor.
"Good, right?" Balder said. "I added a small piece of pork chop from that shop across the street. A lot of people say their pork chops are delicious, so this should be delicious too."
Giles downed the large cup of Magic Potion in one gulp, still savoring the aftertaste. He licked his lips and said, "I think I’m starting to understand the principles behind your potion crafting."
"Understanding it is useless. You can’t craft them without talent, and it’s quite obvious, Saint King Giles, that you don’t seem to possess such a talent," Balder said.
"What a shame," Giles sighed.
He’d thought he might be a one-in-a-million peerless genius, but it turned out he wasn’t.
"How do you feel?" Balder asked.
"Oh, my Spirit feels refreshed, my energy is replenished, and my fur is all soft and smooth! It’s amazing! Say, is there a Magic Potion that can clean your body directly? The kind you drink to get clean?"
Giles looked down at his own glossy, greasy red fur, his expression turning peculiar.
He wasn’t fond of bathing, but Zhang Ji demanded that he maintain a certain standard and not disgrace the Saint King Council, which meant forcing him to bathe. It was a huge hassle.
"Of course there are, and they aren’t difficult to craft. My workshop produces many Magic Potions for daily life. If you need any, Saint King Giles, you can go buy them directly. Take my VIP card; you can get a forty percent discount." Balder handed Giles a purple-and-gold card with a smile.
"I’ll definitely be a customer." Giles put the card away safely. "I officially consider you my sworn brother."
Just then, the door was pushed open.
Dugu Yunfeng strode inside.
"Sorry to interrupt your bonding moment." Dugu Yunfeng looked at Giles and said, "It seems you’re not seriously hurt."
"The opponent was a bit tricky, but I’ve been training diligently. I don’t go down that easily," Giles said.
He was telling the truth.
Although he had been completely outclassed by Zhang Ji during that battle between Saint Kings, he hadn’t slacked off since.
He had also been using Shen Xi to devise fighting techniques that suited his combat style. He was even on the verge of achieving Spiritualization, his bloodline was continuously being developed, and he was extremely close to reaching S-rank.
This incident had forced him to unlock his Genetic Lock. Now, he would reach a stable S-rank in two or three months at most.
"I’ve found out who they are," Dugu Yunfeng said. "It’s an organization called the Crown of Sin Thorns, a clandestine group from the Saint Silver Church Country. Their leader is called the Lord of Entropy. Including the leader, there are thirteen members in total, all Legendary Level powerhouses. Publicly, they are high-ranking officials in the Church of the God of Light, and their financial backing comes from that charitable organization, the Rusted Moon Monastery."
The three members of the Crown of Sin Thorns weren’t weak, but against Dugu Yunfeng and members of Nine Nether Deep Technology who were masters of Illusion Skills, it was a completely one-sided stomp.
By briefly simulating the Lord of Entropy’s Illusion Realm, the three of them spilled everything they should and shouldn’t have said.
Dugu Yunfeng had thought the interrogation might fail and was prepared to ask Mo Ye to step in, or even send back to Origin Star to get some Alchemy Potions.
"Thirteen Legendary Level experts? They’re that strong?"
Giles and Balder were both dumbfounded.
Good heavens, the Arcane Federation only had seven publicly known Legendary experts, who were called the Seven Sages.
"The Saint Silver Church Country, counting the Pope, two Grand Bishops, and two Church Knights, only has five Legendary experts, right? How can they have so many in secret?"
Balder couldn’t wrap his head around it, no matter how he thought about it.
If the Saint Silver Church Country possessed such strength, why hadn’t they unified the world already?
"In any case, this matter is not for us to decide. I’ll report to the Supreme One when I return," Dugu Yunfeng said.
The two words "Supreme One" still felt a bit awkward on Dugu Yunfeng’s tongue.
But he had already accepted the current situation. The Celestial Essence Realm truly had a new leader.
