Chapter 193: Chapter 162: Great Completion of [I Alone Am Supreme], Research Results

Under the Bodhi Tree, inspirations came in a flash, and Zhang Ji would occasionally strike out with his palm.

He didn’t use much Celestial Essence, but each strike honed his techniques to a greater depth, and his body made rapid micro-adjustments with every movement.

The nature of his Spirit Particles also seemed to change slightly.

They became more aggressive, with a higher density.

While technique-based fighting styles didn’t directly increase his stats, they indirectly reconditioned his body, allowing him to draw out greater potential from the same attributes.

The Bodhi Aura was incredibly effective. In just twenty-five days, Zhang Ji had mastered [Solitary Self].

The Bodhi Aura’s boost wasn’t particularly noticeable when practicing fighting styles based on Cultivation Techniques, but for skill-based ones like this, it was remarkably efficient.

As it stood, it had cut Zhang Ji’s training time by at least half.

A massive boulder sat before Zhang Ji. With a flicker of intent, he entered a state of extreme focus.

Instantly, an aura of serene clarity emanated from him.

The meaning of [Solitary Self] wasn’t about being domineering in a literal sense.

Instead, it was about the concept that nothing exists outside the mind—using a mind of supreme, serene clarity to perceive and shape all things.

Then, Zhang Ji lightly brushed his palm across the massive boulder.

Instantly, a massive amount of Celestial Essence combined with Spirit Particles descended upon the boulder. It immediately disintegrated, its form reconstructing into a lotus flower sculpted from stone.

’It has the form, but not the substance. My cultivation realm is too low,’ Zhang Ji muttered to himself, looking at the stone lotus.

He had wanted to turn the stone into a real lotus flower, but his Spirit Particles weren’t yet capable of such microscopic control. He also didn’t truly understand the biological structure of a lotus.

The concept behind this Palm Skill was profound, and its potential was immense. It nearly touched the Domain of Legendary-grade fighting techniques and was almost in a class of its own.

It truly had the potential to reshape matter.

However, Zhang Ji felt his own base stats were holding it back.

"The Child Venerable’s talent was truly unreal," Zhang Ji sighed in admiration.

Even with his cheat system and the help of his AI, Zhang Ji figured it would be incredibly difficult for him to create a fighting style of this caliber. Yet, in that ancient era, the Child Venerable had created this entire series of Palm Skills and other advanced techniques purely on his own.

With that level of talent, it was no wonder he had been able to single-handedly dominate an entire golden age of martial arts for over a century.

’Now that I’ve learned the Palm Skill, I’ll go check on Robby’s progress. Then I can retrieve the Cosmic Four Source Attraction.’

Zhang Ji left Hope, took to the skies, and headed straight for the World Alchemy Science Academy.

.....

World Alchemy Science Academy.

In a long corridor, Robby, dressed in work coveralls, was in discussion with Zhang Ji.

"You brought back too many things from those ruins," Robby said. "Our research on Spirit Roots and Spiritual Qi hasn’t made significant progress yet. We’ve only managed a rough assessment: a Spirit Root seems to be a special organ that operates in the quantum domain to interfere with Spiritual Qi, which itself should be a form of quantum energy..."

For now, Zhang Ji hadn’t mentioned the Otherworld, attributing the items to some ruins instead.

Origin Star had plenty of similar ruins from other worlds, so Robby and his team weren’t overly suspicious.

"Why does everything always come back to quantum mechanics?" Zhang Ji complained.

"Fine, let me rephrase," Robby said. "Particle interactions on a sub-microscopic level. Does that make more sense to you?"

"So, what exactly is Spiritual Qi?" Zhang Ji asked.

"Our current theory leans toward it being a kind of ’amplifying particle’—a functional particle that enhances the inherent properties of matter," Robby explained. "For example, if a stone comes into contact with Spiritual Qi, it will undergo a series of changes, like its material structure becoming denser, more stable, and so on."

"Then why doesn’t it become more brittle or unstable?" Zhang Ji asked. "Theoretically, Spiritual Qi shouldn’t have preferences, right? Aren’t those also changes in its properties?"

"Ah, you’ve hit on the key point. Spiritual Qi is conscious," Robby said. "We believe it possesses a kind of sentience and is influenced by living beings. You can think of it as being easily affected by a person’s spiritual field, which guides its function. For example, if you want Spiritual Qi to increase a blade’s sharpness and durability, it will enhance those specific properties and not others. During this process, it almost never misunderstands your intent or affects other characteristics. In other words, you can achieve your goal simply through your own intent."

"So, Ork logic?" Zhang Ji asked.

"Not entirely, but that’s part of it," Robby said. "It can’t create something from nothing. It only modifies matter based on your needs, working within existing physical laws and its own capabilities."

"What about Spirit Patterns, then?" Zhang Ji asked. "Adding Spiritual Power to those patterns can produce all sorts of special effects."

"That’s just Spiritual Power temporarily amplifying the properties of the materials. The effects aren’t inherent to the patterns themselves. If you mistakenly inscribe a Spirit Pattern onto a material that lacks the corresponding properties, it probably won’t work," Robby said. "All in all, the miraculous part is the Spiritual Qi itself."

As they talked, the two arrived in front of a massive growth chamber.

Inside the chamber was a mass of sinews that had extended countless root-like tendrils, all of which glowed with a five-colored spiritual light.

This was the so-called Spirit Root.

This was an artificial, five-element, low-grade Spirit Root. In theory, there was little difference between it and a naturally occurring one.

After all, it had been created through cloning.

"This is what it looks like when extended. When it retracts and curls up, it becomes like a tiny sphere, which can then be easily transplanted into the Danzhong," Robby explained. "See those extended tendrils? They capture free-floating Spiritual Qi particles and draw them inside to be absorbed and stored. Based on the information you provided, I speculate that the so-called Core Formation is the process of consolidating this into a core. And Nascent Soul is when it’s further combined with Spirit Particles to form a miniature self for storing them..."

"Can you replicate it, or create something similar?" Zhang Ji asked.

Robby replied casually, "We’re still studying it, but it shouldn’t be too difficult. Spiritual Qi naturally interacts with matter; a Spirit Root just makes the process more convenient. We’ve already figured out some of its properties. It absorbs Spiritual Qi through sympathetic resonance. In theory, we could build a device to collect Spiritual Qi the same way. The elemental attributes aren’t that special either; they just amplify certain traits already present in the human body. It doesn’t have to be limited to five elements. If you want, after a bit more research, it wouldn’t be a problem to cook up a custom Thunder Spirit Root or a Yin-Yang Spirit Root for you."

Zhang Ji gave Robby a thumbs-up.

’That’s Robby for you.’

The two continued on, soon arriving at the area where Shennong’s Dew was being studied.

Robby said, "We haven’t made much progress studying Shennong’s Dew. I can only make a rough guess as to how it’s synthesized. It’s likely a medicinal fluid whose plant-growth-promoting effects have been amplified by Spiritual Qi. Of course, the data indicates it has other functions, but the details are too complex to get into now. To synthesize it ourselves, I think we’d need a massive amount of Spiritual Qi to catalyze the reaction, and it would take a very long time. Without a better catalyst, relying on natural reactions alone could take a few hundred years to produce a similar liquid. So, if we want to synthesize it, we’ll need a lot more time for research."

"Don’t worry about it. I can handle this part myself. If you can’t do it, just let it go," Zhang Ji said.

’The Shennong Cauldron’s function is unique, after all. A product nurtured by Spiritual Qi for over a hundred thousand years couldn’t be easily replicated.’

"Finally, there’s this egg." Robby pointed to the Flood Dragon egg in the isolation hatchery. "My recommendation is to keep it."

"It’s a Spirit Beast. Can it even survive in our environment?" Zhang Ji asked with a frown.

’He still wanted to eat it.’

"If you just turn it into an Alchemy Potion, the benefits will be minimal. But if you hatch it, that’s a different story," Robby said. "I can use its bloodline to create a bloodline potion. Based on its potential, it would be at least an S-rank potion. As for its survival, you don’t need to worry. It’s highly adaptable. As long as we provide enough nutrients and modify it a bit with some Alchemy Potions, it can survive even without Spiritual Power. It just might undergo some mutations."

"Do we have to wait for it to mature?" Zhang Ji asked. "I can’t wait that long."

"It won’t take that long. It should hatch in about two months. And it’s not like Giles, who’s a fully mature bloodline host that we have to decipher from scratch. This is an immature specimen. Its genetic information is completely exposed to my equipment," Robby said, his voice tinged with excitement. "In other words, in a month or two, you’ll have an S-rank bloodline potion. After you take it and your body adapts, you’ll enter a rapid growth phase until you completely obtain the corresponding S-rank bloodline power."

Zhang Ji raised an eyebrow. He hadn’t expected that Robby’s research on the Ape God bloodline had yet to yield results, while this project was already showing progress.

An S-rank bloodline potion.

From a certain point of view, it was equivalent to a Legendary-grade combat crystal.

The stats and abilities it would provide were tangible and real.

’My current body can definitely handle it,’ Zhang Ji thought.

In other words, if he got this potion, he could quickly attain S-rank stats.

It would make him an S-rank fighter of a different kind.

’This scientific approach to power really makes things easy.’

’Just pop some potions and upgrade your gear, and your power skyrockets.’

"Since you put it that way, let’s keep it," Zhang Ji said with a nod.

"A wise choice," said Robby.

After finishing up with Robby, Zhang Ji went to the Physics Department.

Iver seemed to have made a major breakthrough; the corresponding Spiritual Energy constraint model was complete.

All that was left was to build the experimental device and run the tests.

Once the test succeeded, they would have a new kind of fusion reactor. Combined with folded-Space Technology, it could even be miniaturized enough to be worn—a thumb-sized version was no longer just a dream.

The only limitation was that it would likely require a massive amount of Spiritual Energy.

Finally, there was Xia Yu Country. The thirty thousand-plus Spirit-Suppressing Needle blanks had been manufactured ten days ago. They had also taken the opportunity to use the folded space for other experiments and to assist with freight transport.

In truth, producing this small quantity of goods didn’t require mobilizing the resources of an entire nation.

It was complete overkill on Zhang Ji’s part.

"You’ve done an excellent job. You can keep these two folded-space artifacts."

Zhang Ji praised their work and directly gifted the two folded Qiankun Bags to the upper echelons of Xia Yu Country.

Qiankun Bags also required Spiritual Power to function continuously.

However, the requirement wasn’t high. Under normal conditions, these two Qiankun Bags wouldn’t stop working for several hundred years.

Now that they had such convenient Spatial Artifacts, any large-scale construction projects they undertook in the future would be much easier.

Besides, Zhang Ji had his own considerations.

The spatial rift to the Celestial Essence Realm was located in their territory. Xia Yu Country had the geographical advantage, so they would inevitably have to lean into Spiritual Technology in the future.

’This would let them get used to it ahead of time.’
