Infinite Evolution: Dominating The Apocalypse With My God Tier Items
Chapter 412: Mantle Of Greed
With Seth gone nothing remained to hold the others back, especially Elaine, who seized the chance to head back to her family.
Of course Brandon supported this decision of hers, he couldn’t bear to see her suffer, and even if it meant separation for a brief moment, that aside he also had a quest he needed to embark on himself to get stronger.
The first floor of the Nine Hell Infernal World...
The realm his inheritance supposedly originated from.
Of course Brandon and Elaine weren’t the only ones who had places to go, Uriel himself also needed to head to his family, the Mormonts.
As he advanced on his own path he also needed to find out more about his own heritage, as a great house his family ought to have a lot of things in their grasp that could benefit him.
After all, if the Duskreavers had undying figures from the era’s long past, the Mormonts had to have ancient beings of similar origins.
Meanwhile, as for Jack, unlike the others he had no plans to go anywhere, this was his home, his father was a part of the government forces, and the only thing left for him to accomplish was to work on what he already had.
Compared to everyone else, Jack was the only person amongst them who had recovered to his peak state and didn’t carry any backlash from the trip to the abyssal zone.
So all he currently sought was a means to max his stats, and level up his class to its limits, bring the full force of his class skills and gene skills under his control, then evolve beyond the awakened state.
Though the president let out a faint sigh on realizing that Team Apex would have to continue to refrain from joining the war for now.
But he still understood that it was for the best...
After all, their advancement in strength would benefit humanity greatly, especially if they were able to evolve beyond the awakened grade!
If that happened they would be the only creatures on earth above the awakened grade that would be able to travel freely and act with minimal consequences, as long as they were well aware of how to hold back.
And that would be a great boon to the human race, and would make this war even more favorable.
"Fine, we just need to focus on those lads for now!" the president muttered, the images of Lara and her team surfacing in his mind.
In the absence of Apex, team alpha would be the ones to lead the charge, just like they were doing now, leading the division of elites sent to annihilate the Rock Gnome race.
Everything was going according to plan, aside from the unexpected situation with Seth there was nothing to be overly worried about.
Seriously, Seth was the only greatest risk they had on their hands currently, losing him was something President Cain couldn’t shoulder, after all this was the Origin Soul bearer, they needed him alive by all means.
And this little run-in with Zoan proved that Seth wasn’t as invincible as they would have hoped... and still needed to be careful...
"Sigh... I just hope the lad is okay..." the president sighed, staring into the sky.
He was pretty sure that the natural phenomenon of the sky being painted green had something to do with that forbidden temple.
Had the ancient races found a way to activate it?
That he couldn’t tell, what he was sure was that once a sin incarnate was chosen the balance of power would shift drastically towards one side.
And the only reason he seemed pretty relaxed despite understanding the stakes of what it meant to claim a sin was simply because he believed that Seth was a chosen candidate.
After all, the appearance of the phenomenon was pretty much within the same time frame he vanished.
Now all he had to do was to wait till the lad came back with the power they would be needing to end this all...
...
Meanwhile, far away from land and far, far into the vast area of sea...
Deep beneath the darkness of the deep waters of the ocean, the Temple of the Seven Deadly Sins sat, its mighty doors shut.
And within, one of the seven mystical dimensional realms tethered to the seven pillars was active...
The pillar of Greed letting out fluorescent glows pulsing from the veins of light ingrained around the mighty towering pillar.
Within the plane holding the trial ground lit active...
Seth’s vision sharpened abruptly, returning to him, followed by a sudden hit of nausea and discomfort... he frowned, whatever that travel method was he didn’t like it.
Massaging his neck, he cautiously made a scan of his surroundings, assessing his situation and the possible circumstances of the area...
But aside from the grey platform he stood on, Seth realized he actually couldn’t see beyond a few feet after that... everything else just remained empty.
Not darkness, not silence, it was as though space only existed within the confines of the platform and everything else was an absolute void of nothingness.
His frown grew deeper, though he didn’t panic and remained at ease, it still didn’t mean he was comfortable.
Finally a flicker of light sparked in his sight, a series of text bleeding into existence...
[Welcome Seth Duskreaver! You have been selected as a candidate of greed...]
[You have been successfully transported to the trial grounds where a total of 99 other candidates lay in wait to claim the title of Greed incarnate...]
Seth blinked in silence reading through the text, he still wasn’t particularly sure what this trial was about, but he did feel a bit doubtful about his capabilities.
And besides... "I don’t think I’m greedy enough to earn the title of Greed incarnate..." he muttered as the text continued to flicker into existence, forming a notification block of sparkling emerald.
Giving him the exclusive feel of this being a special rare event quest of sorts... well he had barely finished having this thought when the system notification that came next cut his thought process short.
