A few seconds earlier...

A low hum resonated through the dragon genesis nest, the entire island rattling not only from the active super volcano but from the influence of the dawn of an ancient species.

Born from the vestiges of the past, flame dragons had shed all impurities of their inferior bloodline, purified themselves to claim their true heritage.

And at this moment even the entire planet as a whole could feel it.

Great beings from all over the world, from the human monarchs, to kings from ancient races.

Mythical beings, unknown entities, and transcendents all turned towards the direction of the genesis nest.

The sky around the planet going dark, as thunder peeled through the skies.

Lightning of gold snaking through the thick carpet of clouds blanketing the earth’s atmosphere as silhouettes of dragons roared and danced.

Deep in the seas of the east, beings bearing the status of dragons felt reverence at observing the phenomena.

In the high mountains of the north beings also bearing the status howled in respect at the sight.

In the deep valleys of the south creatures of glistening emerald crept out of their caves observing the skies in both fright and respect.

The blood of all dragons sang in unison, the presence of the golden dragon becoming more solid.

The sky practically rearranged itself as the fortune of the flame dragons morphed into something greater, shedding its tinge of red and glistening with pure gold, the golden dragon king’s image searing into the very firmament.

The fortune of the entire race welled into absurd bounds, skyrocketing past even the humans who were declared the hegemons of the earth.

"Now this doesn’t look good." Cain muttered his eyes pulsing with a vibrant tinge of bright emerald seeing beyond the cloudy skies.

He wasn’t the only one sensing the brewing trouble, all great beings could see what was happening but they were helpless.

Things were already too far in motion to stop at this point, it was already too late!

Or so everyone assumed...

Cain remained calm, reaching for a cup of tea by the corner of his desk, he rocked on his office recliner, turned towards the huge glass windows of the Oval Office.

Gently blowing into his tea, his demeanor lacked all qualities of someone in panic.

Taking a sip, he muttered beneath his breath. "That lad, I didn’t know if it was unsurpassed or not, but letting this happen is really an unexpected boon indeed."

His eyes glistening with sinister light, he stared back up at the golden dragon image in the sky.

"Let’s see how long it lasts...."

...

Back on the genesis island...

All around, above and beneath, all cocoons began to rattle, gleaming cracks growing wide like spiderwebs across the glistening shells of gold.

With the first dragon breaking out to be Inferno, the strongest of the nine... now eight dragon prodigies.

His roars thundered through the plains as the cocoon burst into motes of simmering lights.

His frame majestic, regal and commanding, scales glistening with a brilliant vigor of bright gold, his horns coiling to the heavens and jutting from its skull like a deified crown.

And he was the first to start the chain...

Cocoons erupted one after another, dragons coated in scales of pure gold bursting out and howling to the skies.

The excitement was palpable, and the emotions were thick.

No one cared to recall there were invaders who were attacking them a few seconds ago, no one bothered to check if the humans were still around.

What did it matter?

Could the humans pose a threat to them? In this new form?

Tears of excitement poured, as beneath in the underground flaming plains, after a huge abyssal section, the once rabid mass of dragons were now re-enlightened.

Feeling as strong and bright as ever they rejoiced even more vigorously.

Blaze and Ignis stared at one another, feeling their excitement in the eyes of one another, along with a sliver of sadness.

In the end Ash couldn’t be alive to witness and experience the majesty of becoming a pure-blood gold dragon.

It was only at this point did they recall the human who was responsible for their brother’s death.

Their fury sparked...

"WHERE IS HE!!!" Blaze’s growl quaked across the land.

And a response growled back from the void, "I think the appropriate question is where are they all?" Atherion’s relatively calm voice poured from space.

"Hmm?" Ignis’s scaled brows rose as a wave of red pulsed from her head, washing across the island.

Her slits tightened, as Blaze turned her way...

"The Humans they are all gone!" She growled uneasily.

Blaze’s expression grew dark, the new flow of molten blood coursing through its flame, making the presence of its anger more palpable.

Around them the lesser dragons grew silent, fearing not to offend the two great figures before them.

"It doesn’t make sense... humans are too smart to leave us be, something isn’t adding up!" Atherion’s voice hissed.

Back at the core, his majestic frame, now gleaming with a purified shade of gold, remained coiled in silent deliberation.

As his essence flourished even more vibrantly in the atmosphere, allowing his already intimate connection with space to grow even tighter.

Giving the dragon more room to manipulate space even further.

The ground beneath its feet trembled as it rose slowly, its eyes flicking in slow realization.

"Unless..." he muttered, his low whisper bleeding through the void, communicating to all of its brothers including those above.

Even Inferno finally noticing the annoyingly strong and terrifying opponent in blue seemed to have vanished into thin air.

Atherion seemed to sense something, its head whipping towards a particular direction, its eyes landing on a bright red pulsing device, its slits tightened and its eyes widened.

"THOSE TREACHEROUS BASTARD HUMANS!! THEY WERE NEVER HERE TO STOP US FROM CLAIMING THE GOLD DRAGON HERITAGE!" Its panicked voice boomed across the island causing the heart of every dragon to skip a beat.

"THEY WERE HERE TO ANNIHILATE US!" Atherion hissed in realization, space warping beneath its presence as its wings rose to fly.

This time its voice echoed panicked and shocked with fear. "BROTHERS FLEE!!!"

Just this same instance, several thousand kilometers far away from the island, free-falling towards the vast oceans below.

Seth’s eyelids snapped open, devoid of consciousness but fuelled by the program ingrained into his very muscles earlier by none other than himself.

He summoned the detonation remote and, not sparing a second, not caring if the humans were far enough away to avoid being affected by the blast radius of the extinction device, his thumb smothered down on the red button mercilessly!
