Chapter 434: Chapter 434: Monster Apocalypse

And in the midst of this pandemonium.

In a relatively secluded recreation area of the base, Ethan Soto was smugly showing off something to his cronies when he suddenly felt the space around him twist strangely!

"Huh? What’s happening?"

Before he could even react, the scene before him shifted in a blur. The next moment, he found himself in a completely unfamiliar, dimly lit, sealed space. The walls were covered in unsettling patterns!

This was the small dimensional battlefield attached to the [Space Transmission]—the very one Dylan Kane and his group had prepared for Seraphina Sullivan.

"Who?! Who dares to plot against me?!"

Ethan Soto screamed in terror, but his only answer was Dylan Kane emerging slowly from the shadows. His eyes glowed with an unnatural red light, his face was twisted into a grotesque smile, and in his hand, he held a gleaming blade...

Ethan Soto’s screams were completely sealed within the Dimensional Space, unheard by the outside world.

...

「Back at the RV in the livestock area.」

Ding! The instance portal is about to open. Player Seraphina Sullivan, please make your selection within thirty seconds!

Please select one of the following doomsday instances to enter:

[Monster Apocalypse] - The laws of the world have been warped. Countless terrifying behemoths from other dimensions or born of genetic mutation have descended to destroy civilization and hunt all living things. Survival and the hunt are the eternal themes.

[Annihilation by Meteor] - An extraterrestrial calamity has arrived. Countless burning meteor fragments, carrying destruction and unknown materials, bombard the planet’s surface, triggering geological upheavals, ecological collapse, and unimaginable radiation disasters. Find a way to live amidst the ruin and radiation.

Two starkly different, yet equally perilous, instance options floated in Seraphina Sullivan’s mind.

She quickly scanned the information, weighing her options.

But first, something else caught Seraphina Sullivan’s attention.

She immediately reached out through their mental link to check on Sean Chandler’s status.

Sure enough, the feedback she received was expected, yet still concerning.

Due to the difference in their Levels, the system hadn’t presented them with the same instance options.

Sean Chandler was likely facing two entirely different choices.

This meant they were about to part ways and enter different, dangerous worlds.

However, Seraphina Sullivan wasn’t too worried.

Thanks to the deeper bond forged by the [Desire Candy].

She was confident that Sean Chandler’s loyalty wouldn’t waver just because they were entering different instances.

He was still a reliable ally, just temporarily not by her side.

’It’s fine if we act separately. We can each train on our own and gather different resources and information.’

Seraphina Sullivan quickly adjusted her mindset, her focus returning to the two instance options.

’Monster Apocalypse... I’d be facing powerful monsters directly. The pressure to fight and survive would be immense, but the potential combat rewards would also be more straightforward.’

’Annihilation by Meteor... The environment is a natural disaster in itself—harsher, with radiation, geological catastrophes, and possibly mutations. It’s a more comprehensive survival challenge, demanding exceptional resourcefulness and adaptability...’

The seconds ticked by.

Seraphina Sullivan took a deep breath, her expression hardening with resolve.

She quickly recalled Flora into her Space.

"I choose—Monster Apocalypse!"

The instant Seraphina Sullivan made her choice, the system’s response rang out:

Selection successful! Linking to the instance world: Monster Apocalypse... Transmission commencing!

The next second, she felt a powerful spatial pull.

The familiar sight of the livestock area and the RV shattered like a broken mirror, peeling away and dissipating before her eyes.

Seraphina Sullivan felt her body go weightless before an immense force swept her into an unknown channel.

After a brief wave of dizziness and weightlessness, her feet found solid ground, and her ears filled with a cacophony of noise.

Seraphina Sullivan quickly steadied herself and opened her eyes. She was sitting in a seat that vibrated slightly, in what looked like the cabin of a military transport plane.

The cabin was dimly lit, with small, circular portholes lining the sides.

The seats were crammed with people of all ages—men, women, and children. Most were dressed in rags and looked utterly battered.

Their faces were masks of terror, exhaustion, and confusion about the future.

The air was thick with the smell of sweat, dust, and a faint but distinct... strange odor, a mix of blood and something scorched.

A man’s voice, slightly hoarse but striving for calm, crackled over a loudspeaker:

"...Attention, all passengers. Please remain calm and fasten your seatbelts.

Our transport has successfully escaped the initial pursuit zone of the cataclysm-class beast, the Lord of the Ocean.

We are now proceeding at full speed toward Military Land Shelter Three.

We expect to arrive in three hours.

Once we reach the Shelter, you will all be given proper accommodations, food, and basic medical attention.

Please have faith in the military. We will..."

The voice on the broadcast struggled to inspire hope, but the sounds of suppressed sobs and hushed whispers in the cabin continued unabated.

As Seraphina Sullivan was processing this information, suddenly—

"ROOOOAR—!!!"

A deafening, terrifying roar—as if from the dawn of time—pierced through the drone of the transport and the walls of the cabin, assaulting everyone’s eardrums and nerves!

The sheer power and fury in that sound seemed to make the entire cabin tremble, and several children burst into terrified wails.

A chill went down Seraphina Sullivan’s spine. She immediately whipped her head around to look out the porthole beside her seat.

Through that small window, she witnessed a sight she would never forget—a true spectacle of the apocalypse:

Below lay a coastline and city ruins, mangled beyond recognition.

And there, on the surface of a churning, unnaturally ink-blue sea, a figure so colossal it was suffocating was erupting from the depths!

It was a terrifying behemoth, impossible to describe with words.

It was roughly dozens of stories high. Its overall silhouette resembled a whale magnified countless times over, but its skin was not smooth. Instead, it was covered in thick, osseous plates that glinted with a dark, metallic sheen, and studded with ferocious, horny spikes.

Its head was even more terrifying. A great maw, seemingly capable of swallowing mountains, gaped open, revealing row after row of Sharp Teeth like a meat grinder. Deep within its throat, a faint blue Energy gathered.

It had no wings, but massive, oar-like fins grew from its sides, also covered in a dense layer of bone spikes.

As it breached the surface, the tsunami it created instantly swallowed the remaining coastal skyscrapers. Seawater mixed with silt, building fragments, and unidentifiable wreckage, forming a destructive deluge that surged madly inland.

The Lord of the Ocean!

It was worthy of the name.

Even that fleeting glimpse—its world-shattering power and the pure, violent aesthetics of its biology—was seared into Seraphina Sullivan’s mind.

’So this is the enemy humanity faces in the Monster Apocalypse instance?’

"Miss... Miss..."

Suddenly, a tiny, fearful voice, thick and nasal from crying, pulled Seraphina Sullivan from her state of shock.
