Chapter 344: Chapter 344: Recognizing Moe and Meeting

This girl was too calm—so calm it was as if she were strolling through her own backyard, not surrounded by a horde of zombies.

Moreover, her attire and demeanor created a stark contrast with the setting of this apocalyptic dungeon.

Just then, as if she felt her pets weren’t clearing out the zombies fast enough, the young girl made a new move.

She tilted her head slightly, and her long, smooth hair began to stir on its own, despite the lack of wind. Then...

A torrent of vines erupted into the sky!

Dozens, even hundreds of deep green vines, covered in sharp barbs and pulsing with an eerie vitality, grew and spread frantically from the tips of her hair.

Like a swarm of snakes with lives of their own, they shot toward the surrounding horde of zombies at an astonishing speed!

PIERCE! PIERCE! PIERCE!

The vines easily coiled around and pierced through the zombies’ bodies, binding them firmly in place.

Immediately after, an even more horrifying scene unfolded.

On the vines coiling around the zombies, large, luridly colored flower buds swelled up at a speed visible to the naked eye.

The buds burst open, revealing terrifying inner structures of overlapping layers covered in mucus and Sharp Teeth. They were clearly giant Cannibal Flowers!

"CRUNCH! GULP..."

A dense chorus of cringe-inducing chewing and swallowing sounds filled the air.

The zombies bound by the vines—whether they were common zombies or slightly stronger-looking mutated ones—had virtually no power to resist and were swallowed whole by the Cannibal Flowers that had opened on the vines!

The vines swelled slightly, as if digesting something, but the young girl’s expression remained unchanged, though her eyes showed a hint of greater satisfaction.

"Holy crap!" Trevor Tanner let out a choked cry, terrified by this gruesome and bizarre method of attack. A cold sweat instantly broke out on his back.

’This is no delicate young girl!’

’She’s clearly a walking Cannibal Flower queen in human form!’

The visual impact was even more shocking than that of all her pets combined.

’What kind of Talent is this? Plant control? Or... some sort of symbiosis or mutation?’

Dustin Sullivan quickly searched his mental database for similar cases, his brows tightly furrowed.

The Ability this Player had was completely unheard of.

Perhaps it was Trevor Tanner’s muffled cry, or perhaps it was the intensity of their gazes.

The young girl controlling the vines to devour the zombies—Flora Sullivan—paused for a moment.

She slowly turned her head, her clear, emotionless eyes locking precisely onto the shadows in the ruins where Trevor Tanner and the other three were hiding.

At the same time, Chubbs beside her stopped flapping its wings, its sharp gaze sweeping over.

Tubbs lowered its altitude, the flames on its tail feathers flaring slightly.

Moe lifted its head from her arms, the green light in its eyes locking onto a new target.

Silence fell in an instant.

Only the mindless roars of distant zombies and the crackling of burning flames could be heard.

The air seemed to freeze for a moment.

A chill ran down the spines of Dustin Sullivan and the other three.

They knew they had been discovered!

Seeing the Imp in the girl’s arms show signs of attacking...

"Uh, wait a minute! We’re not enemies!!"

Trevor Tanner was the first to react. He hurriedly stuck his upper body out from their hiding spot, raising his hands to show he meant no harm, his voice filled with urgency and nervousness.

Facing the strange girl who could turn her hair into Cannibal Flower vines, along with her obviously formidable "pets," he didn’t dare show the slightest bit of disrespect.

Julian Shaw also immediately deactivated the [Gravity Control] on the four of them, allowing them to land smoothly.

At the same time, he took half a step forward, subtly shielding Dustin Sullivan and Trevor Tanner behind him. His stance was defensive, clearly indicating no intent to attack.

Dustin Sullivan’s gaze, however, held little alarm. Instead, it was filled with a mix of confusion and curiosity as he stared intently at Moe in Flora Sullivan’s arms.

The Petrification Effect from its green beam and its small, flying form gave him a strange sense of familiarity, as if he had seen it somewhere before.

"A Petrification Ability, and it can fly..." he muttered to himself, his mind rapidly flipping through his memories.

The Dark Apocalypse Dungeon... the desperate moment under attack by monsters of the night... a group of Imps descending from the sky, delivering precise strikes and timely Petrification Control.

The memory struck him like a bolt of lightning through a fog!

"You’re..." Dustin Sullivan took a step forward. He shifted his gaze from Moe to the still-placid Flora Sullivan, his voice holding a subtle, almost imperceptible waver.

"My friend, and your companion there... perhaps we were once friends, or at least, not enemies. Are you..."

...

At almost the same time, far away on the top floor of a skyscraper, Seraphina Sullivan received a brief message from Flora Sullivan through their Spirit Link.

’Hmm? She ran into other Players? And they might be friends of mine?’

Seraphina sat up straight in her rocking chair, a little surprised.

Through the Spirit Link, she could vaguely sense Flora Sullivan’s emotions, but she couldn’t share her vision directly. She could only listen to Flora’s mental "descriptions."

’A four-person team, three men and one woman...’ Seraphina thought back on the people she knew in this world and in previous dungeons. Not many fit that description.

"One man is carrying a longsword that can grow and shrink? Another man can control gravity and make everyone float? There’s also a boy with glasses who has sharp senses, and a girl who can shoot Fireballs..." Flora Sullivan continued to "describe" the features she observed.

’A variable-sized longsword? Gravity Control?’

These two highly distinctive Ability descriptions instantly struck a chord deep in Seraphina’s memory!

Two figures she had once fought alongside in a dungeon, who had left a deep impression on her, quickly surfaced in her mind.

The calm and rational Dustin Sullivan, and the sharp and decisive Julian Shaw, who controlled [Gravity]!

And their teammates, the sharp-sensed Trevor Tanner and the slightly short-tempered Coco Sullivan!

"It’s them!" Seraphina exclaimed softly, a flash of realization in her eyes.

’I can’t believe it... Players from their world got dragged into this "Civilization Trial" in the Zombie Kingdom dungeon too.’

’What does this mean?’

’Players from different worlds have been gathered by the system into the same "testing ground"?’

’Is it to increase competition?’

’Or is it for... some kind of crueler selection process? Or collaboration?’

Sean Chandler also heard Seraphina’s whisper and shot her a questioning glance.

Seraphina’s brow did not relax.

"But in a special dungeon like this, the relationship between Players from different worlds becomes complicated. The final score is based on the total completion rate of all Players, so in theory, our goals are aligned.

But who can guarantee there won’t be competition along the way?

Competition for resources, for the right to kill special zombies, or even... resorting to extreme measures to raise their own world’s evaluation?

No one knows what kind of problems will arise later in this dungeon."

Seraphina Sullivan sighed softly.

’In the apocalypse, trust itself is a luxury.’

’But since we’ve run into them, and they seem to recognize Moe, avoiding them would just make us look guilty.’

"Let them come over, but be careful."

Seraphina gave the order to Flora Sullivan through their Spirit Link, "See what they want."
