Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 331: Flora Sullivan
Chapter 331: Chapter 331: Flora Sullivan
As soon as Jordan Quade fell unconscious, Seraphina Sullivan saw the Vance siblings regain their senses, just as she’d predicted.
This confirmed her suspicions, so she stopped hiding.
She canceled the Effect of the two stickers, and her figure materialized as well.
Seraphina Sullivan shot Dexter Luther an annoyed glare and strode forward. "So, you were being so recklessly provocative because you knew we might be here? Is that why you were so bold?"
His thoughts exposed, Dexter Luther let out a couple of dry, awkward chuckles.
The smile tugged at his wounds, making him grimace in pain.
But he remained stubborn. "No way, Sullivan! That was... that was a strategic move to show contempt for the enemy and buy some time! See? It pissed off that psycho leader and gave Chandler an opening!"
Everyone: ’Really? We don’t believe you!’
Seraphina Sullivan quickly freed Dexter Luther and the others who were trapped.
Meanwhile, outside the Ice Palace, the star-shaped marks in the eyes of the "Upper-class people" Players, who had been under Jordan Quade’s [King’s Power] Ability, began to fade away as the caster fell unconscious. One by one, they all regained their self-awareness.
At first, they were dazed.
Then, they began to recall the various atrocities they had committed while under his Control.
They had oppressed, enslaved, and even harmed other survivors.
The immense psychological shock and intense regret instantly overwhelmed them. Many collapsed to the ground, clutching their heads and sobbing, while others simply stared blankly, lost in deep self-reproach.
Seraphina Sullivan even saw Lilian Vance, crying, take a moment to viciously kick the unconscious Jordan Quade a few times, clearly venting the frustration and anger from her time under his Control.
"This Jordan Quade... his Ability is too unique and dangerous. Plus, he’s mentally twisted, completely obsessed with some unrealistic dream of being The Emperor. If we let him live, he’ll be a menace sooner or later."
Seraphina Sullivan said to the others, looking down at the unconscious Jordan Quade on the ground.
Letting a tiger back into the mountains would only lead to endless trouble, especially in this post-apocalyptic world where order was so fragile.
Having been captured, humiliated, and personally witnessed Jordan Quade’s bizarre control Ability, no one disagreed.
Dexter Luther, Morgan Brooks, and the others were grinding their teeth in hatred, wishing the psycho would just disappear on the spot.
"We really can’t let him live."
"Sullivan is right!"
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Of course, by "dealing with him," Seraphina Sullivan didn’t mean a public execution.
During a chaotic moment when everyone was busy helping each other, treating their wounds, or lost in their emotions, she silently approached Jordan Quade.
With a slight twitch of her fingers, a powerful dose of [Anesthetic] was instantly injected into his neck, ensuring he would "sleep" for a long, long time.
Then, in a corner where no one was looking, she focused her mind and pulled Jordan Quade’s entire body into the [Scavenger’s Farm] Space.
There, she had plenty of "pets" to "take care of" the patient with the "emperor dream," and she could also take her time studying his peculiar [King’s Power] Talent.
He was far more valuable alive than dead.
Before long, a commotion could be heard from outside the Ice Palace.
The rescue team dispatched from the safe zone had arrived. It was led by Justin Brooks and Philip Jensen, followed by a number of fully armed Players and soldiers.
Seeing that the situation inside the ice cave was under control—and seeing the former "thugs" who were now either crying or numb, as well as the rescued survivors—Justin Brooks immediately grasped what had happened.
Seraphina Sullivan went up to them and briefly explained the situation.
"Captain Brooks, the ringleader of these thugs has been dealt with. Some of these people are ordinary survivors who were enslaved for a long time. The others are Players who were under the leader’s Special Ability and have just regained consciousness. I’ll leave it to you to decide how to handle and resettle them."
Justin Brooks scanned the crowd. Seeing that Dexter Luther and the others were battered but alive, he breathed a sigh of relief and nodded gravely. "Understood. You’ve done well, Comrade Sullivan, Comrade Chandler. We’ll handle the rest. You all should head back and get some rest."
Having recovered, Crystal Lynn and Chloe Lewis immediately ran to Seraphina Sullivan’s side.
Crystal Lynn’s eyes were still red as she tightly gripped Seraphina’s hand. "Seraphina, really... thank you so, so much!"
Chloe Lewis was even more emotional. She threw her arms around Seraphina in a big hug, her voice choked with tears. "Sullivan! If it weren’t for you, we would have been finished!"
Seraphina patted their shoulders, a hint of exhaustion on her face. "It’s all right. You’re safe now. You two should go back with Captain Brooks and his team and get a proper check-up. I need to get back and rest. I didn’t dare waste a second saving you troublemakers."
The rescue team began to systematically count people, collect supplies, and calm everyone down.
Jordan Quade’s stronghold had indeed been stockpiled with a good amount of food, winter supplies, and basic tools scavenged from all over.
While not especially valuable, the quantity was substantial enough to ease the strain on the safe zone’s reserves and support more people for a while.
Seraphina Sullivan had no interest in those common supplies.
The "spoils of war" she truly cared about were currently resting safely in her Scavenger’s Space.
Jordan Quade was a Level 3 Player.
Seraphina Sullivan was in a hurry to get back so she could properly take stock of the extra spoils from this rescue mission.
However, before returning to the safe zone, Seraphina Sullivan remembered Flora, who was still waiting in her Space in her new human form.
’She’s a living, breathing person now. I can’t keep her hidden forever. She needs a plausible identity to show herself to others.’
She made an excuse to temporarily leave the group and walked over to a quiet corner with Sean Chandler. With a single thought, she released Flora from her Space.
The moment Flora appeared, she began looking around curiously, fascinated by everything in the real world.
Seraphina took hold of her and gave her firm instructions.
"Listen, now that you’re in human form, you need a human identity. From now on, your name is Flora Sullivan. You’re my distant younger sister, and you’re also a Player. If anyone asks where you came from, just say you were on your way to join me right after the cataclysm started, but you were unfortunately captured and controlled by Jordan Quade’s group. You were only rescued today. Got it?"
Flora nodded vigorously, mimicking Seraphina’s tone. "Understood! My name is Flora Sullivan, I’m Seraphina Sullivan’s sister. I was captured by bad guys and just got rescued!"
Seraphina nodded and led her back to the main group.
She intentionally had Flora follow behind her, making her appear timid and withdrawn.
Then, at the opportune moment, she introduced her long-lost, recently-found cousin to Justin Brooks, Dexter Luther, and the others, putting on a little act.
Seeing the delicate-featured, pure-eyed Flora Sullivan before them, whose expression held a trace of lingering fear, the group recalled the deeds of Jordan Quade and his men, and their hearts immediately flooded with sympathy.
"Sigh, the poor child. She was also a victim of that psycho..."
"It’s good that you escaped. You’ll be safe in the safe zone now."
"With Miss Sullivan around, you’ll be all right."
Justin Brooks patted Seraphina Sullivan’s shoulder in understanding and had Flora Sullivan register her basic information as well.
