Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 307: Mokla Giant Tree! 7 Terrifying Abilities
Chapter 307: Chapter 307: Mokla Giant Tree! 7 Terrifying Abilities
"This is for your meddling hands!"
"This is for your wandering eyes!"
"This is for almost getting us all killed!"
This time, it wasn’t just Charlotte Carter and Lily Holloway; even their leader, Samson Sharp, joined the "slap brigade"!
The three of them surrounded Larry Olsen, raining slaps down on him. The relentless SMACKING filled the air.
Larry Olsen: ...
Poor Larry Olsen couldn’t even get a single, complete word out.
He was slapped dizzy, his cheeks visibly swelling until his face resembled a classic "pig head."
He could only let out muffled whimpers, whether in protest or begging for mercy, no one could tell.
...
Inside the Aberrant Rock Bug’s mouth.
Seraphina Sullivan keenly felt the vibrations beneath her grow unusually violent and chaotic.
It was no longer the rhythmic peristalsis of movement; instead, it felt frenzied and erratic.
"Boss Sullivan, did you hear that?" Simon Holt also sensed something was wrong, cocking his ear to listen.
His voice was laced with tension. "Outside... there’s a huge commotion out there! It sounds like... a lot of people fighting, and roars from tons of monsters!"
Seraphina wasn’t deaf. Of course she’d heard it.
The sound filtered through the bug’s thick muscles and layers of mimicked rock. Though muffled, she could still tell it was the clamor of a massive, chaotic battle.
Then, a second later, as if answering their unspoken questions, the bug’s massive, tightly sealed mouth suddenly cracked open!
A blinding light and a deafening roar instantly flooded in.
Simon Holt and Seraphina Sullivan instinctively peered through the gap, and the scene before them instantly made them hold their breath.
They found themselves in the middle of a surging tide of aberrant monsters!
All around them, in every direction, were twisted, grotesque, foul-smelling irradiated creatures.
They let out earth-shattering roars, moving with a demonic frenzy.
All of them were making a desperate charge toward a single, common target.
And that target... was a colossal tree, so vast it defied imagination.
A vast, ancient, twisted face on the trunk—one that seemed to be a fusion of countless agonized visages—was coldly "gazing" down at the ant-like attackers swarming below.
Seraphina Sullivan: "?? "
’How did we end up in front of the boss in the blink of an eye?’
Simon Holt: "!!!"
’Holy crap! We fell right into a monster den?! Am I really going to die this time?!’
What was even more alarming was the sight of numerous Players mixed in with the charging horde of aberrant monsters!
However, Seraphina noticed that these Players had vacant eyes, fanatical expressions, and stiff, robotic movements. They completely disregarded their own defense.
Like marionettes, they fearlessly swung their weapons and unleashed their Skills at the giant tree, as if their sole purpose in life was to attack.
’These people... are they being controlled?’ Seraphina immediately noticed a faint, spiraling mark glowing with a weak red light on these Players and some of the monsters. It flickered in and out of sight.
’So, the Aberrant Rock Bug is also under Control, which is why it’s charging so violently onto the battlefield? Did it just carry us straight to the final showdown?’
Seraphina instantly pieced everything together and cursed her rotten luck.
"S-S-S... Boss Sullivan!" Simon Holt’s voice was choked with tears, his finger trembling as he pointed at the giant tree.
"Look at that tree! It’s... it’s horrifying! I feel like I’ll drop dead if it so much as glances at me!"
She didn’t need his reminder. Seraphina had already pushed the Abilities of her [Analysis Eye Glasses] and [Eye of Resume] to their absolute limit, locking onto the colossal tree.
A torrent of information flooded her mind:
[Name: Mokela]
[Gender: ?]
[Professional Skills:
1. Ten Thousand Entanglements: Control all plants within range, including its own branches, to Bind and strangle targets.
2. Life Absorption: Pierces the target with its branches to instantly drain their Life Force and Energy, replenishing its own.
3. Mutant Fusion: Can devour and fuse with other creatures, including humans, with a chance to obtain some of their abilities or traits.
4. Flowering and Fruit Formation: Can transform absorbed creatures into special "Tree Puppet" fruits. Upon maturing, they become completely loyal Guards.
5. Human Form: Can transform into a humanoid state. While in this form, some Abilities are restricted, but it offers greater concealment.
6. Deformed Energy Cannon: Condenses the vast Aberrant Radiation Energy within its body to fire a devastating beam. Anyone caught in the blast will either die or undergo an aberrant transformation.
7. Dying Poison: Its sap and certain branches contain a Highly Poisonous toxin, created by the mutation of its core meteorite. It drastically accelerates the cellular aging process in living creatures. The effect is instantaneous upon contact.]
[Weaknesses: Due to devouring a special human, its life core, which is similar to a heart, has relocated to the spot between the eyebrows on its giant face. This is its primary fatal point.]
After reading this absurdly long list of skills, each one more broken than the last...
Seraphina felt a row of question marks pop up over her own head. She was on the verge of a mental breakdown.
’Are you kidding me?! Seven Abilities?! And each one is more broken than the last! It’s got Control, life-drain, fusion, minion-spawning, can shapeshift, AND it has a map-wide nuke and an instant-death aging poison?! What the hell are we supposed to do, throw rocks at it?!’
Any thought of controlling or guiding the rock bug had been completely obliterated.
Faced with a monster of this caliber, there was only one thought on her mind—
Run!
Immediately! Right now!
Seraphina tried to influence the Aberrant Rock Bug, to make it turn around and escape the death zone.
However, the bug was completely under the Control of the red, spiraling mark. Its mind was consumed by a single, frenzied command: attack the giant tree.
Instead of being controlled, it became even more agitated, accelerating its charge toward the colossal tree!
It was like they were on a runaway train headed straight for a cliff, and the conductor—the Aberrant Rock Bug—had gone insane!
Seeing the Aberrant Rock Bug charging uncontrollably like a crazed locomotive toward that terrifying tree with its absurdly long list of skills, Seraphina knew she couldn’t hesitate a moment longer.
"Hold on tight!" she barked. With no time for subtleties, she grabbed the back of Simon Holt’s collar and hoisted him up like a kitten.
Her eyes scanned the exterior of the bug’s massive maw, which was snapping open and shut in its frenzy, as she searched for a fleeting opportunity.
The moment came when the bug was forced to slow down slightly by the dense horde of monsters ahead, its massive mouth gaping open to its widest extent!
"Go!"
Seraphina bent her knees slightly, instantly activating her Skill, [Bounce]!
Her body felt weightless, as if launched by a powerful spring. With a faint WHOOSH, she shot out of the Aberrant Rock Bug’s mouth, dragging a yelling Simon Holt with her, escaping by the skin of their teeth!
The two of them shot out from the bug like a cannonball, soaring into the air.
The only good news was that the acid rain outside had stopped. They wouldn’t have to worry about getting drenched to the bone the moment they emerged.
However, what Seraphina never expected was that they had just jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire.
