Chapter 340: This Was A One Time Thing!

  • Next Chapter

The following morning.

Luca slowly opened his eyes and stared blankly at the ceiling.

For several seconds, he remained motionless, trying to gather his thoughts. Rachel was nestled in his arms, fast asleep, her brows faintly furrowed even in her dreams. Her arms were wrapped around his neck, and her expression suggested that the previous night’s events had left her thoroughly exhausted.

A soft creak came from the bedroom door.

Sophie entered, already dressed neatly for the day. She carried a set of freshly purchased clothes, which she folded carefully before placing them on the sofa at the foot of the bed.

“I bought breakfast. Would you like some?”

She approached the bed and sat beside Luca. Picking up a small lock of his hair, she playfully brushed its tip against his cheek.

“Of course. I woke up hungry,” Luca replied.

“Then get dressed and come out when you’re ready. I’ll wait for you so we can eat together.”

With that, Sophie stood and left the room, closing the door quietly behind her.

Luca watched her go before turning his attention back to Rachel.

Carefully shifting her onto the bed, he made sure she was comfortable before sitting up himself.

Only then did he take in the state of the room.

Pieces of torn fabric were scattered across the floor and bed, leaving little doubt about how chaotic the previous night had become.

Luca rubbed his forehead.

‘That little troublemaker really went all out.’

He hadn’t expected Rachel to resort to something so reckless. She had secretly given him an aphrodisiac, and although he had remained conscious throughout the night, the effects had made it extremely difficult to control his impulses.

The thought left a bitter taste in his mouth.

Rachel was an adult, but she was still inexperienced. He couldn’t help wondering whether the intensity of the experience might leave her with emotional scars.

‘Perhaps I should have been more careful.’

He knew he couldn’t simply brush aside what had happened. Whatever Rachel had intended, he had a responsibility to make sure she was all right.

After getting out of bed, Luca gathered his things and headed into the bathroom to wash up.

When he emerged a short while later, he found Rachel awake and sitting on the bed. She was leaning forward, struggling to reach the fresh clothes Sophie had left on the sofa.

Her movements were stiff, and she winced as she stretched.

“Let me help you.”

Luca crossed the room, picked up the clothes, and handed them to her.

“Hehe, thank you, Luca.”

Rachel accepted them with a bright smile, but the moment she tried to shift her position, a sharp ache forced a gasp from her lips.

“Ouch!”

She lost her balance and tipped forward.

“Careful!”

Luca immediately reached out and caught her before she could fall.

Rachel ended up leaning against his chest, her eyes watering from the discomfort.

A pang of guilt tugged at Luca’s heart.

‘She’s hurting this much, and she’s still trying to smile.’

He gently steadied her, wishing he could take some of the discomfort away.

He should have been more considerate. It had been Rachel’s first intimate experience, and she clearly hadn’t been prepared for how physically demanding the night would be.

Thankfully, Sophie had eventually joined them. Without her intervention, Luca wasn’t sure how much worse things might have become.

“Luca, it really hurts!” Rachel complained, her voice thick with grievance.

She had done her research online and had even discreetly asked both Arabella and Sophie about what to expect. They had warned her that a woman’s first intimate experience could be uncomfortable and that it might take time to adjust.

Still, hearing about something and experiencing it firsthand were two entirely different matters.

She hadn’t expected the soreness to be so overwhelming.

She had even cried from the discomfort during the night, and although she’d managed to rest for several hours, the aches hadn’t disappeared.

Luca gently patted her back, preparing to comfort her.

Before he could say anything, however, Rachel suddenly giggled.

“But… I’m happy, too.”

He looked down at her in surprise.

Rachel raised her face, her cheeks turning pink.

“Now I really feel like I’m Luca’s woman. Just like my older sis.”

Luca couldn’t help shaking his head at her peculiar logic.

This girl had certainly gone to extraordinary lengths to get what she wanted. Even so, he couldn’t deny that she had achieved her goal of bringing them closer together, though the method she’d chosen was far from sensible.

“All right, enough talking. Get dressed and come out for breakfast.”

Rachel immediately brightened.

“Luca, help me put them on!”

Luca stared at her for a moment before letting out a helpless laugh.

‘She’s still as shameless as ever.’

…

In the dining room, Sophie was arranging breakfast on the table when Luca finally appeared.

“Is Rachel awake?” she asked, glancing towards him.

He nodded. “Yes. She’s getting dressed.”

Sophie hummed in response, but the troubled expression on her face didn’t disappear.

‘Is Rachel really my sister?’

She had known Rachel could be impulsive, but this was beyond anything she’d expected. What possessed the girl to go to such lengths just to get Luca alone?

If Sophie hadn’t intervened, she couldn’t bear to imagine how the night might have ended.

After recovering from her initial shock, she leaned towards Luca, her expression turning serious.

“What about you? Are you feeling all right? Do you have any discomfort?”

Luca raised an eyebrow.

Sophie continued before he could answer.

“People say every medicine has potential side effects. And considering what kind of drug it was, I’m worried it might affect your health. We don’t even know exactly what she gave you.”

Luca shook his head.

“I’m fine.”

Then, a mischievous smile crept across his face. He leaned closer and whispered into her ear.

“Actually, I found the experience rather enjoyable.”

Sophie stared at him.

Luca, meanwhile, couldn’t help recalling the previous night. Despite the chaos and the circumstances surrounding it, the experience had left a powerful impression on him.

‘No wonder people say some experiences are unforgettable.’

He quickly pushed the thought aside before his expression gave too much away.

Sophie let out a derisive laugh.

“Don’t even think about it. This was a one-time exception. There won’t be a next time.”

Luca’s smile froze for half a second.

Sophie knew him too well. The moment she saw that pleased expression on his face, she could already guess that he was entertaining ideas he had no business entertaining.

Last night had been an accident, and she had no intention of allowing a repeat performance.

‘Being with my younger sister is already complicated enough. I don’t need him getting any more ideas.’

“Ahem!”

Luca coughed awkwardly and straightened up.

“Sophie, what are you thinking? It was an accident. Why would there be a next time?”

She looked at him without the slightest change in expression.

The message in her eyes was unmistakable.

‘Do you honestly expect me to believe that?’

Luca could only respond with an embarrassed smile.

‘Well, there goes that idea.’

He decided it was better not to push his luck. If he wanted to avoid another lecture, he would have to keep his thoughts to himself.

Still, as he glanced towards the bedroom, a faint sense of regret lingered.

There had been plenty of things he hadn’t gotten around to experiencing the previous night.

Perhaps, someday, he would get another opportunity.
