Seeing Ethan’s respectful demeanor, Luca, Victoria, and Michael’s parents exchanged brief glances.

Luca then nodded toward him. “Come on. Get Mr. Beaumont a glass. Let’s have a drink together.”

Ethan’s eyes lit up, and his smile widened immediately.

If Luca was willing to drink with him, it meant his apology had been accepted.

At least for now, the Beaumont Group was safe.

What Ethan hadn’t expected was for Luca to actually invite him to stay for a drink. For him, sharing a table with Luca and the heads of the Windsor and Halloway families was an honor he could hardly believe.

He thought back to his father’s efforts the previous year to secure an invitation to a Windsor family gathering.

‘I don’t even know how many connections Dad had to call in, or how many people he had to beg, just to get his hands on one ticket.’

And now, he was standing here, drinking with several people who occupied the highest circles of Capital City.

If word of this got out, his peers would be green with envy. Even his father’s business associates would probably look at him differently.

His heart raced as his hands trembled slightly around the wineglass.

The smooth red wine slid down his throat, leaving behind a rich, fragrant taste.

Only then did the reality of the situation truly sink in.

He was actually drinking with them.

“Mr. Beaumont, would you like to stay and have something to eat?” Luca asked with a faint smile.

Ethan quickly waved his hand.

“No need, no need. I actually have something I need to take care of. Mr. Hale, please enjoy your meal with Mr. and Mrs. Halloway. I’ll take my leave.”

He gave another respectful nod before leaving the private room with Jacob and the two young women who had accompanied him.

As the door closed behind them, Victoria smiled.

“Like father, like son. Beaumont’s abilities have clearly been passed down to his son. It probably won’t be long before the Beaumont Group reaches another level.”

Everyone at the table nodded in agreement.

Judging by Ethan’s performance today, he was indeed quite capable.

As long as he remained true to his ambitions and stayed away from illegal business, his future prospects were considerable.

Meanwhile, Ethan walked out of the private room with a smile as bright as spring sunshine.

The disappointment of not getting lucky with any women tonight had completely vanished.

He had shared a drink with Luca.

That alone was something he could brag about for at least a year.

Even when he reached the first floor and spotted Benjamin kneeling outside the hotel, the smile on his face remained.

But in Ethan’s mind, Benjamin had already been sentenced.

Anyone who offended Luca, regardless of how talented or useful they were, would eventually be discarded.

When Benjamin saw Ethan and Jacob walking out of the hotel together, chatting and laughing, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

It seemed Luca hadn’t made things difficult for Ethan.

That meant Ethan probably wouldn’t make things difficult for him either.

Perhaps everything could be forgotten. After all, Benjamin had contributed quite a bit to the Beaumont Group over the years. Surely they wouldn’t punish him too severely over one incident.

“Mr. Beaumont! Mr. Beaumont!”

Ignoring the pain shooting through his body, Benjamin pushed himself forward on his knees, forcing a flattering smile onto his face.

“Mr. Beaumont, what did Mr. Hale say?”

Although Ethan’s expression suggested that Luca hadn’t taken the incident seriously, Benjamin still wanted to hear those words for himself.

Otherwise, he knew he wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight.

Ethan paused for a moment before glancing down at him.

“Mr. Hale said he didn’t take the matter to heart.”

“Ah!”

Benjamin’s face immediately lit up.

“That’s wonderful! That’s really wonderful!”

The pain in his face and lower back suddenly seemed insignificant.

He had actually received Luca’s forgiveness.

Benjamin couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.

‘As expected of someone who can sit at the top. He’s incredibly broad-minded.’

“Mr. Beaumont, is Mr. Hale still eating? Should I go upstairs and offer him a toast to show my gratitude?”

Using both hands, Benjamin slowly pushed himself to his feet. He dusted off his trousers and quickly put on another flattering smile.

“Mr. Beaumont, we’ve finally crossed paths with Mr. Hale. We have to make the most of this opportunity.”

His voice dropped conspiratorially.

“Who knows? Maybe we’ll need Mr. Hale’s help to take the Beaumont Group to greater heights someday. Just think about it. Even a little money slipping through his fingers could probably keep us comfortable for the rest of our lives.”

As he spoke, Benjamin’s imagination was already running wild.

‘Once I get on Luca’s good side, I’ll go from being the Beaumont Group’s biggest problem to its biggest contributor.’

Maybe when Ethan eventually took over as president, he could even reward Benjamin with a position as vice president.

The thought made Benjamin grin.

‘Getting beaten up today was completely worth it.’

What was a little pain compared to the comfortable life waiting for him in the future?

“Heh.”

Ethan let out a quiet laugh.

“That’s quite an idea. I’ll consider it.”

Benjamin’s smile widened immediately.

‘I knew it. I’m a genius.’

He almost gave himself a congratulatory thumbs-up.

Unfortunately, the higher the hope, the harder the fall.

Ethan’s expression suddenly changed.

“However, from this moment onward, you have no further connection with our company.”

“What?”

Benjamin staggered backward two steps before collapsing onto the ground.

For a moment, he wondered if he’d simply heard wrong.

Then he looked up and met Ethan’s cold, piercing gaze.

The last trace of confusion disappeared.

He finally understood.

“Why… why?”

Benjamin’s voice trembled.

“Mr. Beaumont, didn’t Mr. Hale say he didn’t take it to heart?”

“It’s not that he didn’t take it to heart.”

Ethan’s voice remained calm.

“He didn’t take it to heart at all.”

He stepped closer and raised the tip of his shoe beneath Benjamin’s chin, forcing him to look up.

A mocking smile appeared on his face.

“If you offend Mr. Hale, there’s only one outcome for you, Benjamin. Considering your past contributions to the group, I’m giving you a chance. Go back and submit your resignation.”

Benjamin’s face went pale.

“Otherwise, I’ll hand over the evidence of your misconduct to the police. You abused your position in the company and embezzled a large amount of money.”

Ethan’s eyes narrowed.

“You’d better think carefully before making the wrong choice and regretting it later.”

“Mr. Beaumont…”

“Get out of here. Now!”

Benjamin tried to say something else, but Ethan kicked him squarely in the chest.

He stumbled backward and fell hard onto the ground.

At that moment, Benjamin finally understood that Ethan wasn’t joking.

If he refused to resign, the only place waiting for him would be prison.

“I understand…”

His shoulders slumped.

His expression was completely defeated as he dragged himself away, each step heavier than the last.

Jacob watched him disappear into the distance before turning to Ethan.

“Mr. Beaumont, are we really just going to let him go?”

“Let him go?”

A trace of mockery flashed across Ethan’s eyes.

“If I let him off today and Mr. Hale becomes unhappy with me because of it, who do you think will let me off in the future?”

Jacob fell silent.

“So what are you planning to do?”

“I’ve already sent people to contact the employees Benjamin forced into inappropriate relationships with him.”

After borrowing a light from Jacob, Ethan took a slow drag before calmly continuing.

“Do you think they’ll want revenge once they learn Benjamin has lost his position?”

He exhaled a thin stream of smoke.

“As for the evidence of his crimes, there’s no need to rush. Once those women have had a chance to vent their anger, we can hand everything over to the police.”
