Infinite Cashback: My God-Tier Cashback System

Chapter 303: Maybe I Should Become Pregnant

  • Next Chapter

Over the next few days, Capital City remained calm on the surface.

Beneath that calm, however, things were moving quickly.

Before long, quite a few people had been invited to have tea and answer a few questions.

Among them were corporate executives, celebrities, socialites, and even several political figures.

Those who had once hoped to save Maison Premier quickly realized which way the wind was blowing. None of them dared to stand up for the family anymore. Instead, they began distancing themselves from Maison Premier as quickly and quietly as possible.

Then, an official media report was released concerning the government’s proposed handling of the Maison Premier case.

The moment people saw the words, "Members of Maison Premier will be prosecuted for intentionally leaking state secrets," everyone understood.

Maison Premier was finished.

There would be no comeback this time.

Several business owners who had previously maintained close relationships with Maison Premier immediately came forward online. They shared the news and publicly expressed their support for the government’s decision to crack down on criminal activity.

At this point, anyone who continued associating themselves with Maison Premier was practically asking to be investigated next.

Even Sapphire-Vanguard Group, based in Rose City, moved quickly. The company immediately published its existing contract with Maison Premier.

The message was clear. Their relationship was purely commercial. Whatever cooperation existed between the two companies was limited to business, and there had never been any other form of association.

Even so, the employees of Sapphire-Vanguard could sense that something much bigger was coming. Everyone understood that the collapse of Maison Premier had been the final blow to Rodgers.

His position had already become extremely unstable. Every move he made was being watched, and one wrong step could cost him his position entirely. If things continued this way, someone else could soon take his place.

...

"Boss, our people reported last night that the Japanese operative was secretly taken away. Around ten others were arrested as well, both men and women."

It was early in the morning.

Luca had just came with Arabella out of the bathroom when Captain Rico called.

"Alright."

Luca raised his arms while Arabella helped him into his clothes.

Then, remembering something, he asked, "What about Yor Shinobu? Any news on her?"

"They haven’t sent anyone for her yet," Rico replied. "But I expect they’ll be here soon."

Luca frowned slightly.

’They were so efficient before. Why are they suddenly taking their time?’

He thought about it for a moment before realizing what was probably happening.

Most likely, Mr. Adams had given the order.

It wasn’t that the government was deliberately protecting Yor or abusing its authority for Luca’s sake. Rather, Mr. Adams probably knew that Luca had some connection with the Japanese woman and had decided to give him a little time.

Perhaps he thought Luca wanted to say goodbye.

’Mr. Adams really does treat me well.’

Then Luca sighed inwardly.

’But you’ve seriously misunderstood me.’

"Alright, let’s wait. If they don’t come today, they’ll probably send someone tomorrow at the latest."

After ending the call, Luca looked up. Arabella had already finished dressing him.

She bent down to straighten the blankets, but before she could finish, Luca walked over and slipped his arms around her waist from behind.

"Stop fooling around. I have to go to the company later."

Arabella struggled lightly in his arms, though there wasn’t much effort behind it.

Luca rested his chin near her shoulder.

The faint, clean fragrance of her hair and skin reached him, making him reluctant to let go.

"Let me hold you for a little while."

Arabella’s movements gradually stopped. She straightened and leaned back against his chest.

They stayed like that for a while, enjoying the quiet morning together.

Eventually, Arabella turned her head, rose onto her toes, and gently kissed Luca on the lips.

"Honey, it’s getting late. I really have to go to the company."

She rubbed her cheek against his chest for another moment before reluctantly stepping out of his embrace.

Picking up her small handbag, she slipped on her heels and hurried out.

It was only after she got into the car that Arabella suddenly remembered something.

She hadn’t told Luca about Vivienne’s pregnancy.

But then again, Maison Premier had no chance of making a comeback now.

Even if Vincent somehow managed to get out, it would probably be several years before he returned to the outside world.

There was no longer any reason for her to worry about the matter distracting Luca.

Still, after thinking about it, Arabella decided against saying anything.

It would be better if Vivienne told him herself.

...

"Bro, is Maison Premier really finished this time?"

Trish suddenly asked during dinner.

The last time she’d asked Luca, he could only shake his head. At the time, the situation had still been uncertain.

Maison Premier had been taken away for investigation, but there had clearly been someone powerful protecting them behind the scenes.

Now, however, things were different.

Even the state media had reported that Maison Premier’s members would be prosecuted.

There was practically no room left for a reversal.

"Yeah."

Luca nodded.

"I doubt most of them will escape prison. Jack, especially, is going to have a hard time getting away."

Every piece of evidence Luca had submitted had been damaging.

Jack was the worst of them.

From a young age, he had behaved like the world belonged to him. He bullied classmates, even slapped teachers, and had accumulated one scandal after another as he grew older.

There was also the incident involving a female college student who had been harassed by Jack and his friends at a karaoke bar, only for them to post photographs of her online afterward.

There were simply too many incidents to list.

Someone like that deserved to face the consequences of his actions. Otherwise, it would be an insult to everyone he had hurt over the years.

Trish finally relaxed after hearing Luca’s answer.

"That’s good."

Jack’s fate was what she cared about most. The first time she met him, she’d already found him unbearable.

After learning about the things he’d done over the years, that dislike had turned into genuine disgust.

She couldn’t understand how someone so despicable could possibly escape justice.

If people like Jack were allowed to walk away without consequences, there was no telling how many others they would hurt in the future. Fortunately, justice had finally caught up with him.

It might take time, but money and status couldn’t protect someone forever.

Even a spoiled heir born with every advantage in the world would eventually have to answer to the law.

"Bro, shouldn’t we go back to San Fierro?"

Trish suddenly brought up another matter.

Their original plan had been simple.

They had come to Capital City for Arabella’s birthday banquet, stayed for a short while, and then returned to San Fierro.

Nobody had expected the Maison Premier incident to keep them there for so long.

And with the new university term approaching, there wasn’t much reason to stay anymore.

"Yeah. We should head back."

Luca nodded.

His parents were in San Fierro.

So were the women he cared about, his unborn child, and little Daisy.

He had been away from home for quite some time.

Of course he missed them.

Fortunately, by the time Trish and Rachel returned to university, Arabella should also be heading back to San Fierro University to complete her final year.

That meant they wouldn’t have to spend months living in different cities.

Even if they did end up separated by distance, it wasn’t much of a problem these days.

Flights were readily available, and Luca even had his own private jet.

If he wanted to see someone, distance wasn’t going to stop him.

The moment Trish heard the decision, her eyes lit up.

Capital City was a great place, but most of her family was in San Fierro.

Eventually, she had to go home.

Besides, Vivienne had told her the previous day that her car had finally arrived in San Fierro.

Trish hadn’t driven in quite a while.

She was already itching to get behind the wheel again.

Rachel, meanwhile, reacted very differently.

Her grip tightened around her fork.

She quietly pushed the spaghetti around her bowl, spinning it around her fork without actually eating much.

Her thoughts were a mess.

She hadn’t realized yet that her secret relationship with Luca had already been discovered. Going back to San Fierro meant facing her sister.

And that was the part she was most nervous about.

’But I still haven’t completely won Luca over.’

Her eyes flickered as another thought entered her mind.

’Should I just make it impossible for Sophie to refuse?’

She immediately imagined herself returning home pregnant.

’If I have a baby, surely she won’t be able to object anymore...’

Rachel lowered her head and continued spinning her spaghetti, her face gradually turning red.
