Chapter 61: Chapter 61: Will You Marry Me?

Aeon was deeply amazed by Leonhardt’s status window—especially his title and his special talent. The talent possessed a staggering five distinct effects.

In his previous world, luck was merely a trivial concept that people passively believed in. In this universe, however, luck was a rare, tangible force that could be governed if one held the correct authority.

’A prime example is the Goddess of Luck,’ Aeon pondered. ’She wasn’t given that title for no reason; she commands the literal Authority of Luck itself.’

’For Leonhardt to be protected by the universe itself means he is incredibly difficult to kill, opportunities fall right into his lap, and he can seamlessly invert adversity into a fortune. What would happen if I get them and elevate both his title and special talent to the Infinite rank?’ Aeon could barely restrain his anticipation. He couldn’t wait to find an opportunity to touch Leonhardt and initiate a bond.

[A/N: Titles possess active and passive effects in this world, which I will expand upon in later Chapters. Titles themselves are manifestations of power. I didn’t want to overload with too many descriptions, but you will see their abilities very soon!]

’System, show me Evelyn Bloodborn’s attribute descriptions,’ Aeon commanded mentally, shifting his focus to evaluate his next target.

[Status Window: Evelyn Bloodborn]

Evelyn’s set of abilities was remarkably impressive, particularly the synergy between her emotional talent and her soul physique. However, a specific anomaly caught Aeon’s attention.

’System, how does she possess affinities?’ Aeon questioned. ’Isn’t it a universally recognized law that Soul path cultivators cannot awaken affinities?’

[That is entirely correct, Master. It is a fundamental law across the cosmos that pure Soul path cultivators do not manifest affinities.]

[Normally, because affinities are tied to the body and Cosmic cores, while Soul Cultivators cultivate the soul directly and therefore have no affinity.]

[However, her situation is different. She is one of the luckiest beings who have what is called Soul-Native Affinities: Not common but unlike ordinary beings, whose affinities reside within their bodies and cosmic cores, her three affinities are engraved directly into her soul. Because of this, they can be used through soul power despite her being a Soul Cultivator.]

Aeon was deeply intrigued by the explanation. Despite the vast repository of knowledge he had combed through on the first floor of his Archive Tower, he had never encountered a single mention of Soul-Native Affinities.

A deeper question surfaced in his mind, ’What about my own affinities? Are they anchored to my body or my soul? And structurally speaking, which connection is superior—soul or body?’

[Your affinities are anchored to both, Master. At your current Infinite-rank classification, your affinities are no longer mere simple elements bound to a physical vessel or cosmic cores. They have transcended beyond Origin Concepts woven directly into the very fabric of your existence. Furthermore, affinities connected to the soul hold significantly greater advantages than those tied to a body, offering unparalleled resonance and higher control over the corresponding affinities.]

Aeon nodded mentally, thoroughly satisfied with the system’s breakdown. He spent a few more moments studying the profiles of Evelyn and Leonhardt until Anastasia’s voice abruptly pulled him back to reality, calling out to Sophia and Elysaria.

"Sophia, Princess! Over here!"

Aeon looked toward the aisle and spotted the duo approaching. However, just as Sophia moved to claim the empty seat directly adjacent to Aeon, a figure materialized out of nowhere and slid smoothly into the chair. It was the girl with the striking half-pitch black and half-golden hair.

It was Seraphina.

Sophia froze in confusion for a brief second before her expression hardened, her gaze glaring sharply into Seraphina’s eyes. "Excuse me, that happens to be my seat," Sophia said, her voice laced with clear annoyance.

Seraphina simply smiled, offering a perfectly polite, saccharine response. "Sister Sophia, I arrived here first. Why don’t you sit right next to me instead? I simply want to ask Aeon a quick question."

Sophia completely ignored the fact that this total stranger had just casually addressed her as ’sister.’ The moment she heard Seraphina express an explicit desire to speak with Aeon, her protective instincts flared, and she prepared to flatly refuse.

Before a scene could unfold, Aeon intervened.

"Sophia, it’s fine. Come sit here," Aeon said smoothly, flashing a reassuring smile as he gently took her hand. He then leaned over to Alex sitting on his other side, whispering quietly into his ear. "Alex, do you mind swapping seats with Sophia? I’d rather avoid an immediate catfight breaking out right next to me."

Alex blinked, completely missing the underlying tension or what Aeon meant by a fight, but he didn’t care enough to argue. He stood up casually. "Sophia, you can take mine," he said, turning to walk over to the empty seat next to Elysaria.

Anastasia and Elysaria read the room instantly, wisely choosing to remain silent, though Elysaria kept a remarkably wary, calculating eye on Seraphina.

Sophia shot Seraphina one final glare before sinking into Alex’s vacated seat. With the situation defused, Aeon turned his head to face Seraphina, a polite smile playing on his lips. "Miss, how can I help you?"

Seraphina’s smile turned subtly seductive as she elegantly extended her hand in a formal greeting. "My name is Seraphina. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you."

However, beneath her polite exterior, she was intentionally projecting her thoughts, fully aware that Aeon’s passive telepathy would intercept them.

’Yes, hubby... take my hand. Copy my powers. Take everything I have.’

Aeon mentally flinched, nearly breaking his composed facade.

’It’s indisputable now. She is really a regressor from a timeline where we were married.’ Aeon’s theory was now 100% concrete. He would never disclose his system’s ability to Copy powers through physical contact to anyone across the cosmos, save for someone he loved and trusted with his entire existence.

Amused and profoundly fascinated, Aeon accepted the invitation. He confidently reached out and grasped her hand, completely ignoring the sharp prickle of Sophia’s radiating jealousy thoughts and Elysaria’s dangerous gaze.

"My name is Aeon Astaraeas. The pleasure is mine, Miss Veylith," Aeon replied smoothly, firmly locking his grip with hers.

[You have successfully touched a tourget]

[Do you wish to initialize the Boundless Bond]

’Yes.’

[DING]

[Binding target, Seraphina Veylith]

[Binding Successfully]

[You have successfully bonded with the target.]

[Do you wish to initiate 100× return]

’No. Not yet.’

Aeon smiled happily. He would finally have some truly amazing abilities related to space and time. But he was bothered by something. He didn’t know how to respond to someone who claimed to have married him in the future.

After releasing her hand, Aeon decided to ask Seraphina through telepathy.

’Were we really married in the future?’

Seraphina smiled and mentally replied, ’Yes, we were. You were my Master too. I even know the small black dot on your hip, near my big hubby.’

She spoke the last part seductively, making Aeon blush slightly. He knew she was telling the truth about a private part of his body. No one had ever said anything so bold to him before, leaving him completely taken aback and embarrassed.

"Cough, cough."

Aeon awkwardly coughed, trying to hide his embarrassment and change the subject.

"Ahem, Miss Veylith. You said you had something to talk about. Feel free to ask."

Seraphina smiled seductively, her beauty captivating enough to enchant anyone. She then spoke in a calm and charming voice.

"Please, call me Sera. I just wanted to ask... Will you marry me?"

Her words were loud enough that even Alex, who hadn’t been paying attention to their conversation, was taken aback.

Immediately, Elysaria and Sophia stood up and spoke in unison.

"Whaaaat?!"

Before they could continue their conversation, a vibrant female voice echoed throughout the stadium, instantly drawing the attention of the entire crowd.

"Hello! Attention, please." They then stopped for a moment, letting the voices of the students to settle down.

"My name is Elira Moonveil, and I am your speaker for today’s orientation. How is everyone doing, ladies and gentlemen? How does it feel to officially cross the finish line and become a part of this elite academy?"

The speaker possessed a beaming, magnetic personality. She was a human female with neat, dark hair and striking green eyes.

After being disrupted by the speaker, Sophia and Elysaria had no choice but to sat back into their seats, though their minds were still frantically looping over Seraphina’s bold actions.

Seeing this Aeon sighed in relief. Despite his Infinite Comprehension, he really didn’t know how to solve this situation.

Dressed in an elegant blue gown, Elira held a wireless microphone as she stood at the center of the platform, looking over the sea of new students.

"It is truly a monumental achievement, isn’t it? Thanks to your relentless hard work, you will now enjoy privileges that few other institutions in this cosmos can offer. I won’t dull your excitement with an excessively long monologue. Instead, let us introduce our elite professors, esteemed guests, prominent club presidents, the Vice-Dean, the Dean, and our revered Headmistress of Nexus Academy!"

Elira began calling the faculty and guests forward one by one. Each figure introduced themselves, offering brief words of encouragement and outlining their roles. Next came the club presidents, who passionately detailed their respective factions’ activities while inviting the freshmen to join their ranks.

Two hours flew by in a blur of introductions. Finally, Elira raised her microphone one last time to announce the final speaker of the morning.

"Now then, we will receive a direct address from our Headmistress. Listen to her carefully, for every single word she speaks carries immense weight. Please join me in offering a grand welcome to our Headmistress—Ms. Nyxara Ebonshade!"

Whooooosh!

The exact second the name left Elira’s lips, a blinding pillar of concentrated light descended from the sky, slamming onto the platform directly behind the speaker and startling the entire audience.

"Wow, what’s happening?! Is the academy under attack?!" a freshman shouted, panic twisting his face.

"No, look at the professors. They are sitting completely calm," a calm student replied, pointing toward the front. "And look closer at the pillar of light—there is a distinct silhouette floating inside it."

Every eye in the stadium locked onto the radiant energy. A moment later, the blinding glare began to fade, revealing a woman sanding effortlessly in the air. She possessed rich, dark brown skin and was draped in a flowing, white East-Asian silk robe that drifted elegantly around her figure.(pic)

She slowly descended toward the platform, landing gracefully beside Elira. The moment her feet touched the stage, every single professor, guest, and academy staff member stood up in perfect synchronization.

Bowing deeply, they greeted her in a singular, thunderous chorus.

"Welcome back, Headmistress!"
