Incubus Lord: Lust Harem System
Chapter 343: The Crown’s Light
Chapter 343: Chapter 343: The Crown’s Light
The arena buzzed with nervous energy as the Shadow Moon Pavilion disciples took their positions.
They wore dark grey robes that seemed to drink the light. Their movements were silent, their eyes scanning the Royal Solaris Academy team with predatory focus.
The Royal Academy captain stepped forward.
He was young, maybe twenty, with golden hair and eyes that burned like miniature suns. His robes were white and gold, embroidered with the Solaris family crest.
Damon’s expression remained utterly disinterested. Grand Marshal Vane lifted his hand, palm open, and declared,
"Begin."
In that instant, the twelve Shadow Moon disciples dissolved into the arena’s shadows, their forms becoming one with the darkness.
They melted into the shadows, their forms dissolving into the darkness cast by the arena walls. The crowd gasped as twelve assassins disappeared, leaving only the Royal Academy team standing in the open.
The captain sighed.
"You know," he said, his voice carrying through the silent arena, "I really hoped you’d try something interesting."
He raised his hand.
And summoned a sun.
Golden light bloomed from his palm, expanding outward in a sphere of pure radiance.
The light was blinding, searing, absolute. It pushed against the arena walls, flooding every corner, every crack, every shadow.
The shadows screamed.
The Shadow Moon disciples were forced out of their concealment, their bodies wreathed in smoke as the light burned through their dark Qi. They collapsed to the ground, clutching their faces, their cultivation destabilized by the assault.
The captain lowered his hand, the golden light receding like a tide pulling back from a shore. The arena fell into a dim twilight as the radiance vanished.
Twelve assassins lay sprawled on the stone floor, their bodies wreathed in dissipating smoke, writhing in agony as their destabilized cultivation churned within them. Their shadows slowly returned, but their techniques were broken.
The captain looked down at them with mild disappointment, his golden eyes flickering. "That was too easy," he said, his voice flat.
The Royal Academy team moved forward in unison, their steps measured and confident. They formed a loose line, their captain at the center, as they approached the fallen assassins.
They dispatched the Shadow Moon disciples with efficient strikes, ending each fight in seconds. The assassins couldn’t fight back. Their shadows were gone, their techniques useless.
The score climbed.
One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six.
The Shadow Moon captain managed to stand, her eyes bleeding from the light exposure. She raised her hands in surrender.
"I yield."
Grand Marshal Vane nodded. "Royal Solaris Academy wins. Seven to one. They advance to the Quarterfinals."
The crowd erupted in cheers.
Damon watched from the Azure Dragon dugout, his golden eyes tracking the Royal Academy captain as he left the arena.
’That technique,’ he thought. ’It’s not just light. It’s purification.’
Ariel leaned against him. "He’s strong."
"Strong enough to challenge Kai," Damon said. "But not strong enough to win."
"How do you know?"
"Because Kai’s not playing fair. And the Royal Academy captain still believes in honor."
Ariel didn’t argue.
She had seen what Kai did to the Wind Whisperers. She knew Damon was right.
The qualifier match was a different story entirely.
Iron Claw Sect faced a rival regional clan from the Eastern borderlands, both sides battered from their first-round fights. The match was ugly, brutal, and exhausting.
The Iron Claw disciples fought like cornered animals.
They clawed, they bit, they used every dirty trick in the book. Their leader was a scarred veteran with iron gauntlets that crackled with earth Qi. He fought through broken ribs and a shattered arm, refusing to yield.
The match dragged on for an hour.
Blood pooled on the arena floor. Bones broke. Techniques failed.
In the end, Iron Claw Sect won five to four.
They didn’t celebrate.
They just collapsed on the stage, gasping for breath, their bodies too broken to stand.
Grand Marshal Vane looked at them with something close to pity. "Iron Claw Sect advances to the Quarterfinals."
The crowd gave them a polite applause.
But everyone knew.
Grand Marshal Vane raised his hand.
The arena fell silent.
He struck the bronze gong.
BONG.
"The Round of 16 is officially concluded," he announced. "Eight sects remain. Eight champions will fight for glory."
The crystal projection above the arena flickered to life.
The bracket appeared, glowing with golden light.
Quarterfinal Matchups:
QF 1: Azure Dragon Sect vs. White Tiger Sect
QF 2: Black Tortoise Sect vs. Vermilion Bird Sect
QF 3: Nameless Sect vs. Iron Claw Sect
QF 4: Crimson Eclipse Sect vs. Royal Solaris Academy
Damon studied the bracket.
’White Tiger Sect first. Then either Black Tortoise or Vermilion Bird. Then Kael or the winner of the Crimson Eclipse match.’
Damon studied the Royal Academy captain—a young man with a rigid posture, his gaze locked on the glowing bracket, his face a mask of grim acceptance.
The captain knew what lay ahead: a confrontation with Kai Reventon, a battle that could define his tournament.
Turning to his team, Damon faced his women, their eyes bright with readiness.
"We have two hours," he said, his voice calm.
"Rest, eat, prepare. We’ll need our strength."
Ariel stepped forward, her dark blue hair swaying, her vivid blue eyes fixed on him. ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"What’s the plan for White Tiger?" she asked, her voice soft but eager.
"Tora is strong," Damon said. "But he’s reckless. He relies on his beast form too much. If we can bait him into overextending, we can take him down."
Mio cracked her neck, a confident smirk spreading across her lips. "I can soften him up from range."
Mia smiled softly, her deep purple eyes glinting. "And I can finish him from the shadows."
Selene stepped forward, her platinum-white hair swaying. "I’ll handle the rest of their team. You focus on Tora."
Damon looked at his women—Ariel, Mio, Mia, Seraphina, Flare, Alena, Lumina. Each of them was ready. Each of them was willing to fight.
"We’re ready," Damon said, his voice calm and certain.
Damon smiled, a warm expression that seemed to infuse them with energy.
"Let’s move."
The group left the dugout, stepping into the arena’s shadow. The massive structure loomed above them like a colosseum of old, the roar of the crowd echoing through the stone corridors.
They were among the top eight—the elite of the elite—and soon, they would prove their worth.
