[Law of Fate Comprehension: 0.57% » 0.59%]

’Yeah...’

Aventine smacked his lips. To comprehend only about 0.03% to 0.05% of the <Law of Fate> for every province he massacred, slaughtering thousands in the process, with dozens standing at A-Rank...

It would never be enough.

After all, comprehending the <Law of Fate> seemed to get harder as time went on. This simple brute-force method of his had limitations he needed to keep in mind.

’The City of Arenas only has sixteen provinces, and I’ve already drained two of most of their value. If I were to kill everything here in this province, I would only gain another 0.02 percent.’

Aventine massaged his temples. The lives of the myriad races here were akin to ants when thought of like this... But as the wielder of [Absolute Awareness], he knew exactly how each of them was a truly living, breathing being.

He heard all of their final moments, ringing loudly in his mind, transmitted into the world.

Their curses.

Their last wishes.

Their shattered dreams.

"Sigh,"

Aventine’s senses blanketed the myriad races walking alongside him.

"Has my sudden rise in strength caused me to disregard life so casually all of a sudden?"

Wondering if he had somehow strayed from the path he wished for himself, something pierced his senses.

A spatial fluctuation manifested just a few meters before him.

[Absolute Awareness] already traced its source.

Aventine moved his body, accelerating so swiftly that the world around him blurred.

With a Physique above a thousand attribute points, his speed had long surpassed what Lila was capable of during her hypersonic trips.

—BOOM!

He broke the sound barrier with a few steps forward and struck the moment the distorted space gave birth to an A-Rank existence.

—Swish!

Aventine did not trouble himself with the beautiful scale patterns on this Snakespawn’s face.

There was no need; after all, he was in the process of scanning her entire life thus far. This appearing Snakespawn...

"Is a clone...?"

Realizing this fact, Aventine had already sliced through the neck of this beautiful Snakespawn, cutting off her head and giving her a bob cut in the same motion.

He did not stop his sword swing. Several more spatial distortions manifested in the air around him.

The surrounding myriad races were deafened by the hypersonic booms created by each of Aventine’s movements. Waves of air pressure pushed them away, injuring most of them and even causing a few deaths.

The next thing that they saw was the manifestation of over a dozen gorgeous women, all bearing the same serpentine features and the same stunning demeanor.

As if being born out of thin air, the Snakespawn known as Ellea preemptively struck the rogue Destruction Mage, fearful that she would be the next target.

’Indeed,’ Aventine thought as he beheaded three of Ellea’s clones and charged to the next group as they conjured Magic Circles in the same instant they appeared. ’News of the White Roar Clan’s demise swiftly after the annihilation of the 16 Claws has already spread.’

<Fate> was drawing enemies towards him rapidly.

Luckily, with one of the intelligent pure beast factions gone, this rapid encirclement was a lot lighter than what could have been.

[Absolute Awareness]!

Furthermore, Aventine did not play by the rules.

6th-Circle Spatial Magic.

[Warp]!

Having traced Ellea’s back and located her through her own spatial spells, Aventine simply did not bother with the clones she’d sent out.

This was a counter-ambush only those with superior detection and information abilities could perform.

"Heh,"

The clones were not at all surprised by Aventine’s swift use of <Warp>.

"A wise choice for a human." They even had time to mock. "But there’s no place for you to run."

Their eyes all gleamed with purple Magic Circles, rapidly locating Aventine’s mana signature despite his sudden disappearance. It was the same spell they used to set up this ambush in the first place.

[Mana Positioning]!

A single piece of information poured into their minds. It involved a familiar sight. A familiar location.

A... familiar person.

"Oh no!"

They realized that Aventine had not run away at all. In fact, he brought the battlefield...

Right to their main body!

—Crack.

All of the clones suddenly felt a profound sense of loss. As if something they treasured beyond all imagination had suddenly been taken from them.

—Crack!

Their bodies shattered at the same time, turning into fragments of glass that broke and scattered continuously until they were reduced to ashes.

Elsewhere, in this province’s main tower, Aventine stored the beautiful Snakespawn’s main body in the <Sub-Dimensional Ruby Ring>, intending to use her corpse as a useful material later on.

Along with the A-Rank Minotaurs, other myriad races he’d killed, and many of the resources he’d plundered during his slaughter... perhaps he could create a few interesting artifacts if he studied the delicate arts of crafting and refinement.

[You have levelled up!]

[Level 146 » Level 147]

Another message appeared before his eyes.

"My state has once again been refreshed."

How long had he been awake?

How long had he been fighting?

Ever since arriving at the Living City of Hispe, he went to find Gron, witnessed the destruction of the city and escaped, raided the territory of the 16 Claws, attacked and killed the White Roar Clan, killed a group of friends with great fates, and fought the A-Rank Ellea and killed her in the span of only a few seconds.

It was already dark, and Aventine had been awake for... about two days straight?

’Perhaps it’s time I rest.’

A purple Magic Circle appeared beneath his feet the moment he had this thought.

[Warp].

It was time to reassess his situation, engrave several spells in his heart to show that he truly was an A-Rank in Levels, but an entry-level SS-Rank in stats.

He also needed to further his Psychic Technique and Martial Art to match his status. With such inflated attributes, increasing his mastery over <Mind Force> and <Pure Instinct> was a simple afair.

<Fate> also needed time to create the backlash of his defiance and entangle more people with more and more threads.

’Relentlessness has its limits.’

Thus, Aventine vanished, returning to Gron, Kuvie, and Reazue back in the 16 Claws’ territory.
