Immortality Starts With Selling Pills
Chapter 72: Bright Skin Cream
Chapter 72: Chapter 72: Bright Skin Cream
The room on the first floor of Beth Silverheart’s new residence was quite spacious.
With 10 square feet of space, the office almost seemed like a waste of space.
Unlike the floor downstairs, this floor had a very little furniture.
One couch lying in the corner against the wall with side table and a mini fridge on either side.
Right across the door was a huge computer screen that was controlled from a table a couple of inches away from the wall.
The table was versatile. It had induction top which could be used to cook food while if someone wanted and there was also storage function under the top. ’
On the side there was an empty cupboard.
Derrick sat in the middle of the room with the cauldron he had purchased from the flea market.
Sunlight fell on his body from the glass section in the roof above with a decent ventilation system installed.
He glanced at Beth sitting on the sofa in front of him with a worried look on her face.
He gave her an assuring nod before thinking inwardly, System. Accept the reward related to the cauldron.
[Notice. Cauldron Bond (Tier 1) Has Been Granted.]
The moment he uttered those words, he felt something clicking in his head.
Before, he could only feel his body and the things physically connected to him.
And then, all of a sudeen, he could something couple of inches away from him.
There was no sudden burst of energy or powerful display, Derrick suddenly felt the connection between himself and the cauldron.
Along with the connection, came a string of information about the cauldron.
It was a genuine ancient artifact of the past with several powerful functions and effects.
But, for now, Derrick was only able to access only two of those functions.
[Notice! Artifact Bound To Host Detected.]
[Adding It To The System Interface.]
[Item: Nine Turn Fiend Maker Cauldron.]
[State: Partially Sealed.]
[Seals Unlocked: 1/3]
[Current Abilities:
1. Master Of Alchemy: Allows It’s Master to create unranked pills with higher purity.
20% boost to unranked pills.
10% boost to Tier 1 Pills.
5 % Boost to Tier 2 Pills.
2. Dumping Boost: Allows its master to merge lower purity pills to create higher ones. The higher the rank of pill, the more pills are required. ]
The abilities shown on the system panel were the same as the one as he had learned from the cauldron itself.
But... isn’t that second ability a bit broken? Not only that it is perfect for the current me.
Derrick opened his eyes and looked at the cauldron with stars in his eyes. My precious.
He was already thinking about how he could exploit the powers of this treasure.
"Is it over?" Beth saw Derrick opening his eyes and could not help but ask.
She could see he was excited.
"Yeah, we can finally get to working." Derrick smiled and gestured her to come over.
He spent the next hour giving her the details of his business and what he wanted to do.
"I am not able to create the unranked pills." Beth scrolled through the website and saw the sold out option before the only three options available.
"I don’t want you to create them right away. Before you are able to create Tier 1 Pills, I will guide you your pill creating procedure. Even though I am not a certified Alchemist myself, I have the knowledge and experience of an Unranked Alchemist."
Derrick opened his system and pulled out a couple of herbs and materials.
"Are these materials for Bright Skin Cream?" The moment she saw the materials, Beth was able to identify what they could be used for.
"Good. You can recognize it instantly." Derrick smiled in amazement, not expecting her to realize that by herself. He had bought the materials online and got them delivered to his house.
"Are you going to make the cream?" Beth looked at Derrick in confusion and doubt. "Or do I have to show you how I usually create my creams and pills?"
"Nah, we will." Derrick got up from the ground and walked up to the table with the cauldron.
"We?"
"Yes, we. I will tell you what to do and you will follow that process."
He placed the cauldron right on top of a burner and turned it on with the help of the control system.
"People think that only Tier 1 alchemists who have reached Enhanced Energy Realm can create Pills and potions." Derrick spoke while he waited for the cauldron to heat up.
"With proper knowledge and techniques, you can create simple pills like that without enhanced energy to guide your materials."
Before this Derrick had not created a single alchemy product so he did not want to embarrass himself before Beth.
He stepped to the side and allowed her to take his place.
Derrick was not worried about exposing the abilities of the cauldron since they only worked for the master of the artifact which was him.
"Do not use any Enhanced Energy. Once the temperature of the cauldron reaches 340° celsius I want you to add Ten Drops Of Dew Of Life and swirl it around the walls... "
Beth followed everything he said without question. She turned down the heat when he said, added the materials when he told her to.
Then covered the lid to create pressure once the right moment arrived.
The reason she was doing all this was because Beth was curious.
Seeing how confident Derrick was she wondered if something as absurd as a normal human crating a non ranked pill was even possible.
Her doubts cracked once she saw the noticeable signs of essence of the herbs and flowers being extracted from their original.
Woosh!
Usually she use the EE to create a shield around the materials and guide their essence to create the perfect balance before everything is burned and ruined.
But now...
As she followed the steps told to her, she could not help but feel the vast difference between her experience and the knowledge Derrick possessed.
He corrected some of her habits which lowered the purity of the concoctions.
"Don’t touch that. Trust the process. Without pausing, open the gap and add the Green Vital Grass to synthesize the cream and give it the color."
Beth did just that and closed the gap. She turned off the heat as Derrick had told her.
And then...
Bang!
Within a minute, a faint bang echoed from inside the cauldron and the closed latch opened itself.
A wave of fragrant smell escaped the gaps and filled the room.
"It’s done." Derrick took off the lid, letting the steam inside escape and revealing a thick creamy green paste lying at the bottom of the rusty cauldron.
He glanced at Beth who met his gaze and said, "Looks like we succeeded. Now, it’s time to test the purity of the mixture."
