Immortality Starts With Selling Pills
Chapter 119: Obsession And Lust
The battle on the monitors intensified with every second.
Tap-tap-tap-tap-tap!
Derrick’s fingers flew across the keyboard, running complex counter-intrusion scripts to lock down the system.
But the hacker’s attack continued. Aggressive, high-level algorithms slammed into his firewalls like a tidal wave, shredding through his defensive layers one by one.
Derrick bit his lip, feeling the intense, burning heat radiating from the metallic housing built into his desk.
He was matching the hacker move for move in sheer skill, but his hardware was reaching its absolute breaking point.
I’m going to lose this exchange, Derrick realized, his jaw tightening. Not because of skill, but because my equipment is trash compared to theirs.
If he couldn’t stop them from breaking through, they would gain full access to his company’s internal data, financial records, and proprietary site info.
Derrick’s eyes went cold.
“If I can’t defend it, you’re not getting a damn thing either,” he muttered under his breath.
With a swift, precise combination of keystrokes, Derrick triggered his hidden contingency protocol.
While he kept up a aggressive frontal defense on the screen to keep the hacker distracted, a silent sub-routine spun up in the dark.
The background program immediately began cloning and routing every single piece of critical data, account balances, and customer logs into a secure, encrypted cloud vault.
And right behind the backup, the code began silently corrupting and wiping the local drives—destroying the system from the inside out to leave behind nothing but dead, worthless junk.
The heavy door to the bedroom suddenly slammed open.
“Derrick! Cassie! What is that noise?!” Rebecca rushed inside, her face pale with worry, after hearing the alarm blaring through the house.
“Mom! Someone’s hacking into Derrick’s main server!” Cassie blurted out, her hands clenched tight as she pointed toward the flashing red screens.
HISSSSS!
A harsh sizzle sliced through the alarm.
Thick, acrid grey smoke began to pour from the cooling vents on the side of the desk, filling the room with the toxic stench of burning plastic and melted silicon.
Rebecca gasped in horror, clutching her chest as the sparks snapped violently under the desk.
The screen flickered wildly one last time, flooded with scrambled error codes, and then—
POP!
The entire system went pitch black.
Sparks violently showered out from beneath the frame as bright orange flames burst through the wooden top of the desk.
The blaring alarm suddenly cut off.
The entire room fell into a deadly, suffocating silence, broken only by the crackle of the growing fire.
Cassie took a hesitant step forward, her face pale. “Derrick…?”
BAM!
Derrick slammed his palm hard onto the burning desk.
Before either of the women could even react, he grabbed the heavy, burning desk with both hands, lifted it effortlessly into the air, and hurled it straight through the bedroom window.
KLANCKKTSSSHHHH!
CRASH!
The heavy wooden desk smashed through the frame, plummeting out into the yard below in a ball of flame and splintered wood.
Cassie and Rebecca jumped back in pure fear, clutching each other as the cold breeze rushed into the smoke-filled room.
They had never seen Derrick like this before. They were left shaken by his sudden aggression.
“Derrick!” Rebecca shouted, her voice trembling with shock. “What are you doing?!”
Derrick stood motionless by the shattered window, looking out at the smoking wreckage on the ground below.
He closed his eyes, took a long, deep breath, and slowly let it out to regain control of his racing pulse.
He turned back to face them, his expression softening slightly.
“I’m sorry,” Derrick said quietly, his voice calm again. “I shouldn’t have done that in front of you. I just… lost my cool.”
Cassie swallowed hard, stepping around the broken glass on the floor.
“What happened?” she asked nervously. “Did they… did they take everything? Did they break through?”
“The local server was completely destroyed before they could extract the database,” Derrick said with an unnervingly calm tone. “The automatic wipe triggered, and all our core files were safely copied to the encrypted cloud vault. The business is safe.”
He paused, a chilling silence falling over the room once more.
“So they got nothing?” Cassie asked softly.
“Not quite,” Derrick replied.
A cold, dangerous light flashed in his eyes.
“They got my name.”
Miles away, in a pitch-black room illuminated only by a wall of glowing monitors, a silence descended.
A breathtaking beauty sat back in her high-backed chair, her chest heaving rapidly up and down.
Sweat trickled down her flushed neck, tracing the sharp curve of her collarbone, slipping past her shoulders, and glistening down the curves of her full breasts, touching her light pink areolas.
She gasped for breath, her lips parted as her quick, ragged exhalations filled the small space.
The air in the room was thick, heavy with a sweet, intoxicating scent of raw excitement and intense desire.
Her skin was hot to the touch, burning from the sheer thrill of the digital battle she had just fought.
On the central monitor, right before the connection went completely dead, a single line of recovered data remained locked on screen.
Derrick C—
The woman slowly leaned forward, her eyes fixated on those few letters.
The bright blue glow from the monitors finally revealed her face in the dark.
She had long, vibrant blue hair that fell over her shoulders like liquid silk, and piercing golden eyes that shimmered with an eerie light.
A tiny, delicate mole rested just beneath the left side of her bottom lip.
“Found you…” she whispered softly into the dark.
Her golden eyes sparkled in the blue glare as she raised a slender finger, slowly tracing the letters glowing on the glass.
“Derrick…” she whispered, her voice trembling with awe and obsession.
A violent thrill ran down her spine, making her entire body shiver.
She leaned in close, resting her forehead against the cool glass of the screen, right over his name.
“No one has ever pushed me this far,” she murmured, a manic smile spreading across her lips.
“You’re the only one who can match me… the only one worthy.”
She closed her eyes, breathing in the sweet, heavy air of the dark room.
“You are my destined soulmate, Derrick…”
Her golden eyes snapped open in the darkness.
“…and I will have you.”
