Immortal World : MILF Dual Cultivation

Chapter 27: The Public Accusation and the Cold Cell

  • Next Chapter

The heavy, spirit-infused iron shackles clanked with a rhythmic, oppressive weight as Lin Tian was marched out of the toxic, hazy slums of the Artifact Graveyard.

His wrists and ankles were bound by thick chains engraved with glowing suppression runes, designed specifically to seal away a cultivator’s spiritual energy.

However, for a supposed Qi Gathering Level 1 scavenger, such heavy restraints were almost comically excessive.

Flanked by six heavily armored Disciplinary Guards, Lin Tian was paraded through the bustling, jade-paved thoroughfares of the Outer Sect.

Young Master Wang walked a few paces ahead. His pristine white silk robes fluttered in the morning breeze, a stark contrast to Lin Tian’s torn, dirt-yellow windbreaker.

In Wang’s right hand, held high for all to see, was the stolen artifact—the Mid-Grade ’Wind-Piercer’ Dagger.

The blade, forged from rare Azure-Wind Steel, pulsed with a brilliant, piercing blue light. Hundreds of Outer Disciples paused their morning routines to watch the spectacle.

"Look closely at this piece of trash!" Wang proclaimed loudly.

His arrogant voice echoed across the courtyard.

"This filthy rat from the graveyard thought he could bypass the laws of our Crimson Nimbus Sect! He sneaked into the Resource Hall’s premium vaults like a cowardly thief!"

Wang turned, pointing the glowing dagger right at Lin Tian.

"He stole a mid-grade artifact worth tens of thousands of contribution points! Today, he faces the ultimate justice!"

The surrounding disciples began to murmur excitedly. Fingers pointed at Lin Tian.

In the brutal world of cultivation, stealing directly from a sect pavilion was a capital offense. Death was the standard punishment.

However, Lin Tian did not offer a single word of protest.

He didn’t struggle against his chains. He didn’t yell out his innocence in a frantic panic.

He kept his head slightly bowed. His expression was calm, painted with the silent dignity of a helpless, oppressed victim.

To the observing crowds, the visual contrast was jarring.

On one side, the infamously arrogant Young Master Wang, screaming and gloating like a tyrannical dictator.

On the other, a frail, malnourished scavenger who looked completely incapable of hurting a fly, let alone pulling off a master heist.

The whispers in the crowd began to shift.

"Look at him... he’s just a scavenger. How could he possibly steal a mid-grade artifact?" a female disciple whispered.

"Wang threatened to ruin him yesterday outside the Resource Hall," an older disciple muttered, eyes narrowing in suspicion. "And today, conveniently, an artifact goes missing and is found in the scavenger’s shack? Wang is pushing his authority too far."

Lin Tian heard the whispers perfectly through his newly refined senses.

A cold, detached smile threatened to form on his lips. He suppressed it completely.

Phase one of the social engineering protocol is complete, he thought analytically.

Wang believes he is destroying my reputation, but he is merely isolating himself and turning public opinion against his own credibility.

Soon, the towering, obsidian-black doors of the Disciplinary Hall loomed before them.

It was a massive fortress carved from dark volcanic rock, designed to strike terror into rule-breakers.

As they were marched inside, the ambient temperature plummeted. Flickering blue spirit-flames cast long, dancing shadows against the dark walls.

Seated high above, behind a massive desk of petrified wood, was the Disciplinary Elder. A stern, grizzled man with eyes as sharp as eagle talons.

Captain Zhang stepped forward and bowed deeply. He placed the glowing dagger onto the evidence pedestal.

"Reporting to the Elder. We discovered this stolen mid-grade artifact buried beneath a pile of scrap metal just outside the suspect’s window."

Wang immediately stepped up, his face flushed with vindictive triumph.

"Elder, the evidence is undeniable! The artifact was on his property! This rat is a cancer! I demand that his cultivation base be crippled immediately and that he be thrown to the demon beasts!"

The Disciplinary Elder frowned deeply. His oppressive, high-level aura washed over the room, pressing down on everyone.

He looked at the glowing dagger, then shifted his sharp gaze to the silent scavenger in chains.

"Lin Tian," the Elder’s voice boomed like rolling thunder. "The stolen property was found at your shack. What do you have to say in your defense?"

Lin Tian slowly raised his head. He didn’t cower under the immense spiritual pressure.

He spoke in a steady, clear, perfectly modulated voice.

"Elder," Lin Tian began respectfully. "I am but a lowly scavenger who digs through rotting garbage to survive. I ask the esteemed Elder to consider the logistics of this accusation."

He paused, letting the silence build the tension.

"The premium vaults are protected by Tier-3 Defensive Formations, spirit-locking arrays, and heavily armed Inner Sect guards."

Lin Tian took a step forward, his chains clanking loudly.

"To silently bypass such advanced security would require the profound cultivation of at least a high-level Inner Sect expert. Or... someone possessing elite, high-ranking clearance tokens."

He shifted his gaze, locking eyes directly with the enraged Young Master Wang.

"If I truly possessed the heaven-defying abilities required to infiltrate the vault, why would I still be wearing the rags of a Level 1 scavenger?"

Lin Tian’s voice grew sharper.

"Furthermore, if I were a master thief pulling off the heist of the century, why would I conveniently bury a highly-classified, brightly glowing energy dagger under a thin layer of rusted scrap metal right outside my own window?"

His logic was an impenetrable fortress.

"Does that sound like the meticulous work of a master thief, Elder? Or does it sound like a crude, rushed, and fabricated setup orchestrated by someone who already possesses elite access to the Resource Hall through their familial connections?"

The Disciplinary Hall went dead silent.

The Disciplinary Elder’s eyes widened fractionally. The logical bugs in Wang’s accusation were glaringly obvious. To bypass a Tier-3 array was fundamentally impossible for a Qi Gathering Level disciple.

The entire scenario reeked of a clumsy frame-up.

"Nonsense!" Wang roared, completely losing his composure. "He’s a rat! Rats know how to dig through cracks! Elder, the evidence was on his property! You must cripple him!"

"Silence!" the Elder barked.

He slammed his heavy wooden gavel against the desk. A concussive wave of Qi forced Wang to stagger backward, his face turning pale.

The Disciplinary Elder narrowed his eyes at Wang. It was an open secret that Wang’s stepmother, Madam Shen, was the Head Manager of the Resource Hall.

"The sect’s laws require a thorough, unbiased investigation," the Elder declared coldly. "I will not cripple a disciple based on circumstantial anomalies without examining the array logs first."

The Elder banged his gavel once more.

"The array masters will decrypt the vault logs. Until tomorrow morning, the suspect will be held in custody. Guards! Take Lin Tian to the Subterranean Punishment Cell!"

Wang’s jaw clenched so hard his teeth grinded together. His immediate execution order had been denied.

But as he heard the words Subterranean Punishment Cell, a cruel smirk returned to his face.

The Ghost House. A nightmare of absolute isolation designed to shatter minds.

Lin Tian was roughly grabbed by the armored guards. He was dragged through a heavy, reinforced iron door at the back of the fortress.

A gust of freezing, stale air washed over him.

The descent was agonizingly long. Down damp, winding stone stairs, deep beneath the sect’s foundations. The deeper they went, the darker and colder it became.

The walls were slick with freezing moss, reeking of rust and dried blood.

Ultimately, Lin Tian was thrown into the lowest, coldest cell.

CLANG!

The heavy, rune-engraved iron bars slammed shut with a deafening thud.

Before the guards could march back up, Young Master Wang stepped down into the dim corridor. His white robes glowed faintly in the dying torchlight.

He waved his hand, dismissing the guards. He wanted to gloat in private.

Wang stood on the opposite side of the iron bars, sneering down at Lin Tian, who sat quietly on a rotting straw mat.

"Enjoy the dark, you filthy scavenger," Wang spat venomously. "You think your clever little speech saved you? It only bought you one night."

Wang gripped the freezing bars.

"Tomorrow morning, I will use my family’s wealth to ensure the array logs point directly to you. I will personally see your cultivation destroyed. I will break your legs and throw you back into the graveyard to rot!"

Lin Tian did not tremble. He did not beg. He didn’t even open his eyes.

To Wang, the scavenger looked like a broken, terrified man resigned to his fate.

Frustrated by the lack of a panicked reaction, Wang scoffed in disgust. He turned on his heel and marched back up the spiraling stairs.

BOOM.

The heavy secondary doors at the top slammed shut. The subterranean prison was plunged into pitch-black darkness.

Silence.

The moment the echoing footsteps faded, Lin Tian slowly opened his dark eyes.

The suffocating darkness was instantly banished. A sharp, hyper-focused violet and gold holographic overlay flared to life beneath his corneas.

"He thinks he has caged me," Lin Tian whispered into the freezing void.

A dark, predatory smirk curled the edges of his lips.

"He doesn’t realize he just gave me the keys to a perfectly isolated server room. A secure, soundproof environment deep underground where absolutely no one will disturb me."

He issued a mental command to the Sovereign Matriarch Conquest System.

Instantly, a glowing data box materialized in his vision, hovering brightly in the gloom.

[Target: Madam Shen]

[Status: Frost-Yin Blockage Active.]

[Environmental Variable: Extreme Lunar Yin Energy Detected. Today is Purnima (Full Moon).]

[Frost-Yin Flare-up Timer: 3 Hours, 42 Minutes remaining.]

"Perfect," Lin Tian murmured, adjusting his posture on the freezing stone floor.

He was not a prisoner trembling in a cage. He was a patient, calculating predator lying in wait for his ultimate prey.

Tonight was the night of the full moon. The ambient Yin energy of the world would reach its absolute peak—a fatal catalyst for Madam Shen’s condition.

The unbearable, freezing agony of her illness, combined with her body’s desperate, biological addiction to his scorching Yang energy...

It would leave the untouchable Queen of the Outer Sect with absolutely no other choice. She would be dragged straight into the dark by her own desires.

He closed his eyes, let his breathing slow to a steady, rhythmic cycle, and waited for the system administrator to willingly walk into his trap.
