Chapter 188: 188 | A Desperate massage

Elder Liu picked up the transmission jade from the table and poured a thread of her divine sense into it.

Her fingers were steady. Her breathing was controlled. The message she composed was short and stripped of every formal greeting, every honorific that a Core Formation Matriarch would normally extend to a junior disciple.

"Master, your cauldron is exhausted. My flames ache for your presence. Please come to me."

She read it once. Then she sent it toward Cloud-Sea Pavilion and set the jade back on the table with deliberate care.

Her hands stayed flat on the surface. The chamber remained sealed. The furnace light flickered softly against the walls.

She waited.

---

In Cloud-Sea Pavilion, Lin Tian was reviewing a set of resource allocation records when the transmission jade pulsed warm against his palm.

He read the message once.

His lips curved slightly. The faintest trace of satisfaction.

Elder Liu had held out longer than he calculated. Four days since their last meeting. The tournament pills were finished, her Verdant Flame was drained from continuous refinement, and the addiction left behind by their dual cultivation had finally outweighed her remaining caution. She had called him on her own. That meant the next phase of her integration into his network could begin without force.

He set the records aside and rose from his chair.

Madam Shen appeared at the doorway without being summoned. She had sensed the jade pulse through the pavilion’s internal array.

"Alchemy Peak?" she asked quietly.

"Elder Liu requires replenishment," Lin Tian said. "I will return before dawn."

Madam Shen inclined her head and stepped aside. Her expression carried no jealousy, only the quiet efficiency of a woman who understood her place in his calculations. She moved toward the communication tokens to ensure the outer patrol routes would remain clear for the next two hours.

Lin Tian crossed the threshold and melted into the darkness beyond the gate. His aura compressed until even careful divine sense would struggle to notice him, and his figure slipped through the Inner Sect like a drifting shadow.

He crossed the distance to Alchemy Peak in under two hundred breaths, slipping through the weaker flow points between formations that he had memorized during his previous visits. The isolation arrays around Elder Liu’s private chamber reseated behind him without a single fluctuation.

---

Elder Liu felt him before she saw him.

The heavy masculine presence entered the chamber like warm pressure against her skin. The Irresistible Yang Scent spread through the air, sinking straight into her exhausted meridians. The hollow ache in her Dantian twisted into sharp longing, and her breath caught mid-inhale.

Her legs weakened so suddenly that she gripped the edge of the table to keep herself upright. Her knuckles whitened around the wood.

Lin Tian stood near the entrance, dark robes quiet against the furnace light. His golden eyes rested on her with calm, steady attention.

"You called," he said.

Elder Liu’s throat worked. The Core Formation Matriarch who had commanded the Grand Hall, who had silenced Patriarch Hong with a single sentence, who had made Core Disciples lower their heads with her aura, stood trembling in her own chamber like a woman waiting for a verdict.

Her knees gave way.

She sank down in front of him, emerald robes pooling over the stone floor. Her hands reached forward and caught the edge of his robe, not pulling, just holding on as if the fabric itself could steady the tremor running through her bones.

"Master," she whispered. Her voice cracked on the word. "I finished the pills with continuous refinement. I used too much of my Verdant Flame."

She pressed her forehead lower, closer to him.

"The emptiness has grown worse each night. I tried to suppress it with meditation. I tried to ignore it during the refinement. But the flame inside me recognizes only your heat now. My own cultivation feels like cold ash without it."

Her fingers tightened on his robe.

"Please. Fill this emptiness. Nourish my flames again."

Crimson runes flickered briefly across Lin Tian’s vision as the Insight Eye activated.

```
[Ding!]
[Target Profile: Elder Liu]
Verdant Flame Physique: 34% capacity (Severely depleted)
Meridian Strain: Upper channels micro-fractured from overuse
Dantian State: Hollow resonance detected — Yang dependency confirmed
Obsession Level: 80% (Locked)
```

He dismissed the panel with a thought, days of continuous refinement had pushed her physique to its limit. The Verdant Flame was still functional, but the foundation beneath it was starved. Without his Yang to stabilize the deeper channels, her own cultivation would slowly degrade over the coming weeks.

Not enough to cripple her. Enough to make her need him again before the tournament ended.

He reached down and placed two fingers beneath her chin, lifting her face until her eyes met his.

Her cheeks were flushed. Her lips were dry. The exhaustion of four days burned behind her pride, and beneath that exhaustion was something deeper, something that no amount of discipline could hide.

Hunger.

"Four days," he said quietly. "You lasted longer than I expected."

A tremor passed through her body at the sound of his voice. The Yang essence that radiated from his skin was already easing the ache in her meridians, and her body leaned toward him instinctively the way a dying flame leans toward the only source of heat in the room.

"I could not hold back any longer," she admitted. The words cost her something. A Core Formation elder confessing weakness to a junior disciple. But the confession tasted like relief, not shame.

Lin Tian’s thumb brushed once across her cheekbone.

"Then stop holding back."

Elder Liu’s breath shuddered out of her. Her hands slid from his robe to his forearms, gripping him with the desperate strength of a woman who had been drowning for four days and had finally found solid ground.

"The chamber is sealed," she whispered. "The arrays are locked. No one will enter until morning."

Lin Tian’s fingers slid into her hair, tilting her head back. His gaze dropped to her lips, then to the curve of her neck, then lower to where her emerald robes had loosened during her kneeling.

"Then we have until dawn," he said.

The furnace light flickered once. The isolation arrays hummed softly around them, sealing the chamber from every eye in the sect.

Elder Liu’s hands moved to his collar, fingers working the fastening with trembling urgency. The Matriarch’s pride was still there, woven into every line of her spine. But beneath it was something older and more honest than pride.

The quiet, absolute certainty that this man was the only fire her body would ever answer to.

Outside, Alchemy Peak slept in silence.

Inside, the Verdant Flame was about to be fed.
