Chapter 175 | Mid-Core Ascension
Chapter 175: 175 | Mid-Core Ascension
She lay bare, wrecked, warm. His length was inside her , the golden glow under her skin pulsing slow, steady, almost clean.
"One more time," he said.
She nodded against the broken stone. Her breath was ragged, slow, the first clean rhythm her body had known in so long the number had stopped meaning anything.
It was a statement of fact, flat, certain, the way he said everything that could not be taken back.
She closed her eyes.
He set a pace.
Not the brutal, punishing rhythm of the first nights. Something slower. Deeper. Each stroke a long, grinding, deliberate drive, and where the golden warmth reached, the last corroded barriers simply *dissolved*. Not burned. Not blasted. Dissolved. Like a stain that finally, after a hundred years, came clean.
She made no sound for three full thrusts.
On the fourth, a long, broken moan, low, ragged, starting in her chest and dissolving before it reached her lips.
"Nngh— ahh—"
The thread flickered.
He shifted his angle, slow, and drove deep, grinding his heavy crown against the sensitive knot at the center of her Dantian, the last stronghold.
Her back arched off. Her toes curled. Her fingers found his scarred back, not scratching, not digging, just *holding*.
"It’s almost gone," he said, low. "One more."
He pushed.
The thread cracked.
Not broke. Not shattered. *Cracked.* A thin, clean fracture, and something behind it let out a long, shuddering sigh, the last corroded residue, the final root of the Pill Toxicity, the poison that had eaten her for decades and nearly killed her, *dissolved*.
And in the void it left, his fire poured in.
A flood.
The [Primordial Yin-Yang Synergy] activated at its absolute maximum. The golden Yang, refined by the Lotus, dense with the full power of his Foundation Establishment foundation, surged through her cleansed meridians in a single, unstoppable wave. And her Core, the new Core, the one that had been built in a single night and fed by his fire for three, answered, pulling the Yang in, matching it, amplifying it, a seamless loop of yin and yang.
The two streams could no longer be contained within their bodies.
A visible, ethereal mist seeped from their pores. From her: a torrent of pure, silver-blue Yin essence, cold and clean and luminous. From him: a blinding, golden Yang, dense, hot, alive. The two streams met above the broken ice and *swirled*, a slow, glowing vortex of gold and silver, spinning, rising, filling the dim chamber with a light that had no source.
The flood hit the center of her Dantian.
It hit the bottleneck.
The invisible wall that had sealed her at Early Stage since the toxicity took hold, the wall the poison had built and the poison had kept locked, the wall that no pill, no formula, no midnight of grinding herbs and burning fingers had ever touched—
*CRACK.*
The sound was not in the chamber. It was in her. Deep, inside her, a sound like a glacier splitting, like a seal breaking after a hundred years, like the first clean breath after a drowning.
The bottleneck shattered.
The golden flood poured through the fracture, and her Core Formation Dantian *opened*, widening, expanding, the dry, rotting wasteland of it becoming, in a single breath, a clean, vast, resonating space.
Her skin blazed.
The warm glow under her skin, steady and clean for three nights, *erupted*. A golden-silver aura poured from her in a visible, blinding wave, blowing the steam aside, pushing back the shadows. Her jade-like skin, shot through with sickly green-gold for so long, shed the last of the dullness, and what was left was luminous, clean, alive, radiant with a vitality that had not touched her in over a century.
The pressure of Core Formation, Middle Stage, dropped over the chamber like a physical weight.
The broken ice beneath them hissed and steamed.
She screamed.
Not in pain. Not in pleasure. In *power*. In the sheer, overwhelming, mind-erasing sensation of a hundred and thirty-five years of *almost* finally becoming *enough*.
"HNNNN—!!"
The vortex spun, rose, and broke.
The golden flood settled into her Dantian, and the Core, the new Core, the Middle Stage Core, turned in its nest and *held*.
The ethereal blue interface flickered into Lin Tian’s vision.
**[Devotion: 78% → 80% (Addicted Cauldron Locked)]**
**[Status: Target 4 (Liu Ying)]**
**[Pill Toxicity: 100% Eradicated.]**
**[Cultivation: Core Formation — Middle Stage. Stabilized.]**
He held her through it.
His hands on her hips, steady, grounding, his chest pressed to hers, his breath warm against her ear as the last of the golden flood settled and the room went quiet and the light faded and the broken ice steamed thin.
The aura was gone.
The chamber was dark.
She lay limp beneath him, bare, wrecked, warm, her eyes open, staring at the dim vaulted ceiling. Tears tracked silently down her flushed cheeks, and she was not crying from pain, or from pleasure, or from the release.
She was crying because it was *over*.
Because the burning and poison that had eaten her for decades, the one she had never told a single living soul about, the one she had planned to die with in silence, in this chamber, on this ice, with no one to find her—
It was *gone.*
She reached up. Her trembling fingers found his chest, his scarred, sweat-drenched chest, and she pressed her face against it.She held him the way you hold a thing that saved your life. The way you hold a thing you will never, ever let go of.
"It’s gone," she whispered. Her voice was hoarse, wrecked, barely a sound. "The decay. All of it. It’s *gone*."
"I know."
"I broke through."
"I know."
She pulled back, just enough to look at him. Her eyes were wet, hazy, swimming, and the fear that had been there for three nights was gone, replaced by something she had not felt since she was young and unafraid and had not yet learned what a hundred and thirty-five years could cost.
Devotion.
Unconditional. Absolute. Irrevocable.
"Lin Tian."
"Yes."
She swallowed. The word cost her more than the robes. More than the silk. More than the three nights on the broken ice. More than a hundred and thirty-five years of standing at the top of a peak and calling it pride.
"Master."
The word left her mouth and she flinched, like she had touched a hot surface. Like she was not sure her own voice had just said it.
He went still.
"Master," she said again. Smaller. Less like a title. More like a check. *Is it true. Is it real. Did I just say it.*
"It is true."
He did not smirk. He did not gloat. He simply held her face in his hands, both of them, and looked at her, and his golden eyes were not predatory, not dominant, not mocking.
They were quiet. Certain. The eyes of a man who had been waiting a long time to hear a word, and had not expected to be this still when it came.
"Tomorrow, the sun will rise," he said, low. "You will put your green robes back on. You will walk out of this chamber, and you will step onto the dais, and you will be the Matriarch of the Alchemy Peak, and the sect will bow, and no one will know."
He pressed his forehead to hers.
"No one will know that beneath the robes, your body is locked to mine. That your Core was built on my fire. That the only thing in this sect that can keep it burning is me."
She shivered. A fresh, deep heat pooled in her lower abdomen, and the new Core, the Middle Stage Core, pulsed once, slow, in time with his heartbeat.
"Yes, Master."
Her voice was wrecked, soft, a whisper that only he could hear, a whisper that would not survive the stone walls of the chamber, a whisper that was hers and his and no one else’s.
"I am your cauldron. All of it. The peak, the pills, the wealth, the power." Her fingers tightened in his robes. "Just never let me go back to that burning void. Not for a single night. Not for a single midnight. *Never*."
He kissed her.
Not gentle. Not soft. A claiming. A sealing. A lock clicking shut on a door that would not open again. His hand slid to the back of her head, holding her, deepening it, and she took it, open-mouthed, wrecked, *his*, the Middle Stage Matriarch of the Alchemy Peak, on her back, on the broken ice, in the dark, belonging to a junior.
When he pulled back, her lips were swollen, her eyes were wet, and the new Core pulsed, steady, warm, alive.
The Alchemy Peak was his.
Not the Peak. Not the pills. Not the dais.
*Her.*
And tomorrow, she would walk out of this chamber in her green robes, and the sect would bow, and no one would know.
And that was the lock.
And the lock would not open.
