Chapter 276: Revenge of the Humans

"Kill them all! No mercy! Fuck these weird-looking motherfuckers!"

Adam blinked as he stared at Carmen. If there was one person you didn't want sneaking an attack on you, it was the Berserk Fairy—he knew this firsthand.

And now, the large bellether was about to experience it, too, as Carmen screamed at his head.

It wasn't enough that she rammed the top of his head with her knee, no. Her wings burst, pushing the enemy deeper into the ground and pinning him.

And then, without giving the bellether to lift himself up, she grabbed onto the gaps of his armor, specifically the seam between the shoulder and the helmet.

"What the fuck is this made of?!" Carmen gritted her teeth beneath her smirk, her eyes as wide as they could be as she started prying the armor open. Even with her monstrous strength that could split open thick metal, however, the armor only shook and groaned.

The large bellether soon recovered, slamming his hands to the ground so that both of them would float in the air—this was a mistake, however.

As soon as they were in the air, the bellether warrior's inactive heat saber also bounced. Carmen immediately saw this and grabbed the saber. Her face twisted, however, as the saber wasn't turning on at all.

"What the… how do you—" Before she could finish her words, the saber suddenly turned on. If her head hadn't tilted the moment it did so, it would surely have poked her right through the eye.

"My… my hair!" It did, however, cut a part of her pigtails. "No! You motherfucker!"

And without mercy, Carmen started stabbing the large bellether to the back of his head. The initial stab went straight through, but she just continued on stabbing until there was nothing left—and this entire time, the two of them were still in the air.

Adam watched this happen, and he couldn't help but take a slight step back from Carmen's ruthlessness. If he were any weaker during his first fight with her, he would've definitely suffered the same fate as this alien.

He turned his focus away from this carnage, dodging a beam of light that was heading his way. The blast wasn't aiming for him, however, but toward Helma.

[Helma, the One-winged Violinist.]

Her hijab, which was tightly wrapped around her head, was already flailing loosely in the air as she flipped forward.

Her long, dark brown hair, almost coiling around the violin resting on her shoulder. She softly landed right in front of the bellether, and with a breath, she played a tune on her violin—and without any resistance at all, the alien's frog-like eyes popped outward, its head exploding inside its translucent helmet.

Her eyes widened, however, as another bellether behind the one she killed already had its rifle pointed at her. And before she could even play another tune, the soldier fired.

She gasped at this, but several swords suddenly dove down between her and the line of fire—the beam went through the first sword, weakened at the second, and was completely extinguished upon hitting the third one.

She looked up and saw someone waving at her from above while standing on top of a giant sword. And even with the oxygen mask, it was obvious he had a wide smile on his face.

[Bong, the Ten Blades.]

Bong had several other blades surrounding him, all moving on their own and blocking any beam of light heading his way. Bong stared down at her, the smile on his face shifting to a smirk.

This one instance of arrogance, however, caused him not to realize that the rest of his blades were now all shattered from the barrage of attacks coming his way.

"Shit!" Bong raised his hand, materializing the blades he'd lost. But it was too late; three beams of light were already heading straight to him.

Helma played a tune, the sound lifting her up in the air so that she could help Bong—but something flew past her when she did so, causing her to be lightly blown away.

She played another tune to bolster her defense, but then slightly relaxed when she realized the thing that blew past her was a female human.

The woman flew straight in front of Bong, blocking all the beams coming his way using… just her body.

"You…" Bong blinked, looking at the back of the woman and her short, golden hair.

[Lara, the Girl of Power.]

It was Lara, the one who seemed to have a vendetta against Adam. Ironically enough, aside from Adam, she was the only other person there not wearing an oxygen mask.

The beams also stopped on her chest, and all that was left was a sizzle. Her bare chest glistened as they reflected the color of Mars, but her white suit soon regenerated by itself like it was part of her actual skin.

"Thank—"

Lara didn't bother hearing Bong's gratitude and flew away. She was, however, glaring at Adam—and Adam just happened to be looking at her at the same time.

Adam watched all of this happen right in front of him. And once again, he was reminded of how strong S-tier Heroes actually were.

The bellethers, as strong as their technology might be, were being torn into shreds. Without the element of surprise in their hands, their army, which had terrorized the humans, was being disassembled right in front of him.

And so, seeing all of this, Adam just… casually took a step forward. None of the bellethers were aiming at him anymore, and he allowed the fighting around him to just continue without him.

He walked, strolling his way to the hatch of the enemy ship while the chaos erupted. And when a beam headed his way, a wall of blood gushed around him, twirling as it blocked the attack before calming down and settling right beside him.

The blood soon formed into shape, shifting into Sylvie. She didn't say anything to him, just quietly walking beside him and blocking any incoming attacks with her blood.

The bellethers started to panic as soon as Adam took his first step onto the hatch. The stairs started to close, but Sylvie's blood stretched forward into a net, pulling it and preventing it from closing.

They all pointed their rifles at the two, but they had no leisure to look away at all as the onslaught of the S-tier Heroes was completely relentless and merciless. After all, these aliens were planning to attack them and completely wipe their entire planet—they weren't going to be merciful at all.

Adam didn't even glance back. He and Sylvie continued their way into the ship without talking at all—and as they took their first step, she removed the blood blocking the door, and it soon slowly closed behind them.

The harsh, bright light of the interior of the ship hit their eyes, and what welcomed them inside was a vast hall. Unlike Earth's ship, which had long, wide corridors, the bellether ship was completely open.

If anything, it looked like the inside of an empty mall. An atrium.

Several more bellether soldiers surrounded them, with some of them on the upper floors with their rifles already pointed at them.

Adam wasn't focusing on any of them at all, however. His eyes were only fixed on one thing—there was a room further down the opposite wall, and beyond the glass was some sort of cafeteria.

And although it was far, Adam could see one of the things they were serving. How could he not, when it was hung like a peking duck on the window?

A human torso.

"I see," he whispered. In a way, Adam was still hoping for a peaceful outcome with the bellethers—perhaps a negotiation of peace once everything was said and done.

But in the end, the reports were incomplete. The bellethers weren't just using the humans as slaves; they were eating them.

"Adam…" Sylvie stepped forward, her nose lightly flaring as she actually noticed the cafeteria first.

"...What do you want to do?" she asked.

"There's nothing else we can do," he muttered. "These people have made their choice…

…let's end it."

Meanwhile, as humanity's battle against the bellethers was nearing its premature and unexpected end, Gerald's fight against the emperors didn't seem to have an end in sight.

The Leak's affected area had been completely closed down by the IBAA, with several blockades and even the army involved. None of them were letting anyone in, not even the media.

After all, none of them could show it.

None of them could show Earth's very first Hero bleeding.

"Gerald! Do not be stubborn!" Beatrice was now inside the control room, watching the battle through a drone. The other people with her were all either biting their nails or their lips.

"You don't have the luxury to not be using your full strength!"

She stared at the screen, and despite Gerald being covered in blood…

…he was also surrounded by several emperor corpses.

<Nah,> Gerald muttered, scratching his ear as Beatrice's voice boomed from his earpiece.

<I can't do that. You said there were still people who haven't evacuated. And I just know it...my daughter's one of them.>
