Chapter 702 701: Rescue Nangong Yin

"Help me!"

A weak cry for help echoed from a hidden hole in the ground.

Yang Xiao's figure paused for a moment.

Seeing the Evil Qi rising from the hole, Yang Xiao immediately understood what was going on.

'Looks like that annoying woman never left the Ten Thousand Mile Desert,' he thought. 'That's why she was captured by Nangong Xinghui and his group and locked in this hole.'

Yang Xiao sighed softly.

With a flicker,

he entered the hole hidden beneath the sand and gravel.

Inside the hole.

It was none other than the woman who had accompanied him to the Ten Thousand Mile Desert: Nangong Tianling's cousin, Nangong Yin.

But this woman, who had seemed somewhat arrogant before, was now so weak she was barely recognizable. She seemed to lack even the strength to cry for help. Her face was deathly pale, her lips were chapped, and her entire body looked as if it had been roasted and dehydrated.

She looked nothing like an elite student of the Great Divine Power Realm.

Instead, she looked like a mere Mortal.

Of course, if she were truly a Mortal, she would have died long ago.

For nearly twenty days, she had been trapped in this sweltering hole, constantly enduring the suffocating heat. At noon, the temperature was likely so high that not even a Demigod could ignore it.

It was a wonder she was still alive.

Yang Xiao couldn't help but feel a little apologetic.

After all, this woman had ended up in this state because of him.

He casually flicked his finger.

A ball of flame appeared in the hole.

The light stung Nangong Yin's eyes, which had long grown accustomed to the darkness, and she immediately shrank back in fear.

In her current, incredibly weak state,

she was completely unable to sense the newcomer's aura.

She thought Nangong Xinghui and his men had returned.

The thought that they might kill her this time, or even do something horrible, made her eyes redden with fear as tears streamed down her face.

She regretted following that guy here.

But just then,

she clearly saw the figure behind the flame.

"Is... is it you?"

"Yes, it's me,"

Yang Xiao said flatly.

He stepped forward and waved his hand,

dispelling the Evil Qi restriction that the Seven Evils had placed on her.

This Evil Qi restriction wasn't particularly powerful.

It had just been casually placed by Fire Evil, one of the Seven Evils, and its effect was to drastically absorb Fire Elemental Power from the surroundings.

This was the main reason why the woman named Nangong Yin had become so weak.

If Yang Xiao had arrived any later,

this woman would have likely died here for real.

But now...

Yang Xiao had appeared.

This arrogant woman was, of course, not going to die.

However, he didn't immediately heal Nangong Yin.

In fact, he had no intention of healing her at all.

Because there was no need.

The flame he had just summoned was a ball of extremely low-temperature Cold Flame. This was his fourth Talent Ability. Speaking of which, one of Yang Xiao's greatest gains in this life, after being reborn and recultivating, was these Talent Abilities.

In his first life, he had already possessed three Talent Powers: Fire Control, Sub-Flame, and Aura Alteration. But Cold Flame and Combustion were two he had not,

not even in his first life.

The Cold Flame ability in particular had a wide range of applications. It could be used to regulate temperature, an absolutely rare power for a Fire Spirit.

He suspected that not even the Taoyan God King—the one born from the Yin Yang Origin Divine Fire, that poor sap Yang Xiao had tricked to his death—could possess such an ability.

After all, Yin Fire was Yin Fire, and Cold Flame was Cold Flame.

Although the two had some similarities, they weren't the same ability. Yin Fire was cold, but its temperature was constant. Cold Flame was different. As Yang Xiao's strength grew, he could lower its temperature further and further, to an unimaginable degree. If that were the case,

he could freeze Blood Qi, ice over flesh and blood, and even freeze a Soul to death.

Its power was terrifying.

Moreover, it was the perfect counter to all flames.

In that case,

when paired with Fire Control, even a Fire Element God King would likely suffer a major defeat at his hands.

Furthermore, the applications of this Talent Ability were quite extensive.

Just like now.

He was using Cold Flame to cool down the arrogant woman before him.

As the temperature dropped,

it wasn't long before

the woman, who had been growing weaker due to the encroaching heat, began to regain some clarity. With a thought, Star Power from the heavens and earth surged into her body.

She gradually began to recover.

After all, this woman was a cultivator at the Great Divine Power Realm.

An elite student of the Star God Academy.

Once the external environment no longer affected her and the restriction from Fire Evil was gone, she quickly became full of life again.

Er, she became brimming with vitality.

And what do you know, the moment she recovered,

the woman grabbed Yang Xiao

and immediately started pulling him outside.

"What's wrong?"

Yang Xiao was slightly taken aback.

The woman, however, shot him a look, which was surprisingly a little charming.

She explained, "We have to get out of here! If those guys come back, we're done for! How despicable! I don't know what kind of lunatics would dare to attack people from our Star God Academy. Later, when I get back, I'll definitely have my cousin send people to capture all of them. But for now, let's just go. They're very strong, at least at the Demigod level. We're no match for them."

Hearing her words,

Yang Xiao didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

But he didn't explain anything.

He let the ditsy woman lead him out of the hole. They headed north and soon reached the territory of Red Flame Mountain.

Only then

did the woman finally let out a small sigh of relief.

After sending out a signal,

she stopped.

After this period of recovery, her symptoms of dehydration had naturally disappeared completely, and much of her Spirit Will had been restored.

Unlike before, when she was on the verge of death and couldn't even sense the newcomer's aura,

she hadn't released her Spiritual Sense to check her surroundings at all.

But now,

she had to take a look.

Because there were still some Barbaric Beasts and even Demon Beasts around Red Flame Mountain.

At the same time,

the signal she had just sent would soon be seen by someone. Although most who came would likely be from the Star God Academy, it was always better to be cautious.

So, as she released her Spiritual Sense to scout the area, Nangong Yin said to Yang Xiao, "We can relax now that we're here. The signal I just sent can be detected within a ten-thousand-mile radius. When the elite students, or even the Core Students, who are out training see it, they'll rush over. Don't worry! We're safe!"

As she said this, Nangong Yin suddenly remembered that she had accompanied this guy out here to help him comprehend the Fire Secret Pattern so he could cultivate the South Li Vermilion Bird Star Divine Aspect.

But when her Spiritual Sense swept over Yang Xiao,

she froze.

"You... weren't you at the Peak of Small Divine Ability Realm? How did you suddenly reach the Great Divine Power Realm Sixth Stage Peak? W-what's going on?"

And just as Nangong Yin was staring in a daze,

several figures

suddenly appeared beside the two of them,

and surrounded them.
