Chapter 429 - 428: The Ten Thousand Devil Kill Order, Greedy Demon Kings Seek Their Death

With the dimensional boundaries collapsed, the Barrier Realm had become a vast looting ground. Thousands of demons from the Hollow Beyond had poured into the region, searching for lost artifacts, dormant Dao fragments, rare spiritual metals, and ancient inheritances before the dimensions completed their fusion.

Many of these demons had spent their entire lives confined to the Hollow Beyond, and the sudden access to the ancient ruins had awakened their greed.

Some traveled in small groups, carefully examining the remains of ancient battlefields. Others formed temporary alliances around valuable discoveries, only to turn on one another when the opportunity arose.

The strongest among them treated the weaker demons as expendable labor, forcing them to search dangerous ruins before claiming the most valuable treasures for themselves.

The collapse had created opportunities, but it had also destroyed the rules that once limited the demons’ movements. No stable boundary remained to prevent a powerful Demon King from entering a region that had previously been inaccessible.

As a result, the Barrier Realm had become a battlefield in which greed, strength, and the desire for survival determined who would leave with a treasure and who would remain among the ruins.

The Golden Immortal Beast banked around an enormous floating asteroid composed entirely of ancient swords. Millions of blades had fused together over countless ages, creating a dark mass of rusted metal that stretched beyond the range of ordinary perception.

Some of the weapons still retained faint spiritual fluctuations, while others had become nothing more than fragments of broken steel.

As they passed the asteroid, Lin Yuan’s deep purple eyes caught movement in the distance. Several powerful demons had gathered around the glowing carcass of a celestial beast, tearing at its remaining essence with little regard for the surrounding space.

Their movements were crude, but the pressure radiating from their bodies revealed that they were all powerful Demon Kings.

The largest among them was a towering Boar Demon King. His body was covered in bristling, iron-like quills, and a massive club fashioned from a demon’s femur rested beside him.

Each breath released a coarse rumble from his broad chest, while the muscles beneath his dark hide shifted with enough force to make the surrounding astral dust tremble.

Beside the boar slithered a three-headed Viper Demon King. Its enormous body coiled around the carcass, and its scales glistened with highly corrosive green venom that sizzled whenever it touched the surrounding debris.

Each of its three heads possessed a separate consciousness, allowing it to observe several directions simultaneously while guarding the treasure it had claimed.

Three lesser Demon Kings stood nearby, two bearing the features of wolves and the third possessing a broad pair of avian wings. Although they were weaker than the boar and viper, their cultivation still carried the unmistakable pressure of the Void Refinement realm.

They had joined the group because the celestial beast’s remains contained enough residual energy to strengthen all of them.

The radiant silver light of the Golden Immortal Beast drew their attention almost immediately. The boar raised his head from the carcass, and his small eyes narrowed as he examined the approaching figures.

At first, he appeared annoyed by the interruption. But the moment he recognized the crimson robes and the beautiful woman holding a dark bow, his expression changed.

His eyes widened, and a greedy smile spread across his broad face.

"By the blood of the abyss!" he snorted. "Look over there! It is the Human Couple!"

The three-headed Viper raised all its heads at once. Its six eyes fixed on Lin Yuan, and its tongues flickered as it tasted the spiritual fluctuations carried by the approaching beast.

Recognition quickly replaced its initial surprise, and an ugly excitement spread across its three faces.

"The targets of the Ten Thousand Devil Kill Order!" one head hissed. "The ones who slaughtered Mo Du and Yuan Kong!"

"The bounty!" shrieked the wolf demon standing to the left. Saliva dripped from its fangs as it stared at Lin Yuan. "Lord Bai Sha’s decree promised a drop of ancestral White Tiger blood essence to whoever brought him their severed heads. That reward could push a Demon King closer to Peak Void Refinement!"

The avian Demon King spread his wings, releasing a burst of dark feathers that circled his body. "A drop of that blood would be worth more than every treasure we have collected here. If we seize the Human Couple, our names will spread throughout the Hollow Beyond!"

Their excitement drowned out the faint warnings that should have accompanied such a discovery. The Ten Thousand Devil Kill Order had been broadcast throughout the Hollow Beyond only hours earlier.

These scavenging demons had rushed into the Barrier Realm without paying attention to the rapidly changing situation of the war.

They did not know that the Warlord of the White Slaughter had already descended upon the Grand Court. They did not know that Lin Yuan had confronted Bai Sha and shattered the nineteen phantom lives that had allowed the White Tiger Demon Lord to survive repeated destruction.

Most importantly, they did not know that the one who had issued the order was already dead.

The bounty they coveted no longer existed. The master they hoped to please had been reduced to a defeated enemy, and the person responsible for his death was standing directly before them.

Yet none of these facts had reached the greedy demons.

"A drop of the White Tiger’s blood!" the Boar Demon King roared, his iron quills vibrating as he snatched up his massive bone club. He pushed away from the floating asteroid, sending a shockwave through the surrounding debris as his enormous body hurtled toward Lin Yuan. "Their heads are mine! I claim the ascension!"
