Immortal Ascension Through Marriage: Investing in My Wife Get Returns
Chapter 337 - 336: Sha Luo (5)
For the first time, genuine surprise appeared in the eldest Demon King’s eyes.
She had known that Lin Yuan possessed a powerful Dao Companion, and the reports from the Hollow Beyond had mentioned that Bai Qingyue had contributed to the deaths of powerful demons. Nevertheless, Sha Luo had assumed that most of those achievements had been made possible by Lin Yuan’s support, especially given the difference between their cultivation foundations.
Now, the aura emerging from Bai Qingyue told a different story.
The woman was not merely borrowing power from her husband or relying upon the protection of his Dao Fruit. She possessed a distinct foundation of her own, and the sheer volume of Heaven and Earth luck radiating from her body was awakening an ancient resonance that pushed against Sha Luo’s spatial domain.
Realizing the threat, Sha Luo did not hesitate. The eldest Demon King’s human disguise violently dissolved to exert her full spatial authority.
A dark silver carapace spread across Sha Luo’s shoulders and torso, forming overlapping plates that resembled polished space-jade. Her arms lengthened slightly, and the fingers of both hands transformed into sharp, curved claws capable of tearing through the spatial fabric. Behind her, an enormous scorpion tail emerged, its segmented body covered in dark armor and ending in a wicked stinger that gleamed with a deep violet spatial light.
Six powerful limbs unfolded from Sha Luo’s back and sides, each joint protected by a layer of glossy chitin. Her lower body transformed into that of an enormous scorpion, while her upper body retained a majestic humanoid form, creating a terrifying yet strangely elegant appearance. Silver spatial patterns spread across her armor, pulsing in time with the circulation of her demonic energy, and the pressure of her true form caused the surrounding spiritual Qi to retreat.
She had become a true scorpion demon.
The sight caused Ku Ming’s expression to change. The monk had encountered many demonic bloodlines during his travels through the Nine Provinces, but the aura surrounding Sha Luo’s true form was unusually oppressive, as though her transformation was not simply the result of cultivating demonic techniques but the awakening of an ancient spatial inheritance. He immediately understood that she had concealed a significant portion of her combat strength.
Bai Qingyue did not flinch at the horrifying transformation. She raised her pale hand.
A crystalline blue seal appeared above her palm, composed of several overlapping patterns of pure water and immense fortune. The seal rotated slowly, and a series of faint vibrations spread through the air, causing the silver spatial lines nearest to her to tremble.
Unlike Lin Yuan’s rain, which observed the surrounding laws, Bai Qingyue’s technique carried a direct and forceful intent laced with Heaven and Earth luck that sought to interfere with the stability of the connections themselves.
"Heavenly Fortune Binding Seal."
She pressed her palm forward.
The crystalline blue seal shot toward the silver network, expanding as it traveled. It did not attempt to destroy the spatial lines, nor did it interfere with the coordinates they represented. Instead, the seal attached itself to several connections at once, releasing thin strands of luck-laced energy that wrapped around them like chains.
The affected lines immediately stopped shifting.
Sha Luo’s expression changed.
Bai Qingyue had not tried to overpower her spatial domain through brute force. She had used the binding principle of her Heaven and Earth luck to stabilize a small section of the network, preventing the connected spatial relationships from changing for a brief period. It was a simple application of a binding technique, but its effect on the surrounding domain was far more significant than its appearance suggested.
For the first time, a portion of Sha Luo’s network had become fixed.
Lin Yuan’s eyes brightened.
"Bai Qingyue, that is enough!"
He moved immediately.
Golden-purple thunder erupted from his body, and Immortal Cloud Step carried him toward the newly stabilized region. The spatial relationships surrounding him remained complicated, but the section bound by Bai Qingyue’s seal provided a stable reference point that his movement technique could follow. He crossed the distorted distance in a single breath and appeared near the center of the silver network.
Sha Luo’s expression became cold.
She flicked her clawed wrist, attempting to rearrange the connections around Lin Yuan, but the crystalline blue seal resisted the change. The binding energy trembled under the pressure, and several cracks appeared across its surface, yet it held long enough for Lin Yuan to raise his hand and strike the nearest silver line with a bolt of golden-purple thunder.
The line shattered.
A sharp sound echoed through the battlefield, and several surrounding connections flickered as the network adjusted to the sudden loss. Lin Yuan immediately withdrew his hand, avoiding the backlash that swept through the damaged region, while Bai Qingyue maintained the binding seal with both hands.
Her fingers danced gracefully through the air.
A second crystalline seal emerged from her fingertips and struck another section of the network, fixing several additional connections in place. The two seals worked together, restricting Sha Luo’s ability to rearrange the spatial relationships within that portion of her domain, and the surrounding silver lines began to tremble under the pressure of their competing principles.
Sha Luo’s eyes narrowed.
"So that is how you intend to assist him. You are not trying to match my spatial comprehension, but to restrict the movement of the connections long enough for Lin Yuan to identify their weaknesses."
Bai Qingyue’s crystalline blue eyes flashed.
"You are correct. My husband does not need me to understand every principle you have spent countless years studying. He only needs me to create an opportunity, and I have no intention of wasting it."
She clenched her hands.
The crystalline seals brightened, and the binding energy spread through the network like an expanding web. Several silver lines were forced into stable positions, creating a temporary region where the spatial relationships could no longer be rearranged at will.
The effort placed considerable pressure on Bai Qingyue’s cultivation, but her restored meridians allowed her to circulate her energy smoothly, maintaining the technique without suffering the instability that had once plagued her.
Lin Yuan took advantage of the opening.
