Chapter 573 -570: Repeated Treatment

“Xi, why are you spacing out? Is there a big problem with my formula?”

“No… it’s not.” Xi was stunned for a moment, then answered, “You need to add ‘desiccation’ to the formula. That’s the only way to suppress that pollen.”

Xi repeated the words he had said before. Poke showed no signs of anything being amiss and, instead, excitedly praised Xi.

“Since there’s no problem with the formula, I’ll start concocting the medicine…”

Poke once again brought Xi to the lake. He plunged his hands into the water and began to use his healing power.

This time, Xi said nothing. He simply watched as the surrounding fragments once again swarmed toward the lake and merged into it. The chaotic medicine completely corrupted the original formula, twisting the lake water’s effects in an unknowable direction.

The lake water rippled with a chaotic light before gradually calming down again. As Xi watched the identical scene play out, his confusion reached its peak.

“Is it done?” Poke stood up unsteadily, still looking dazed and confused, completely oblivious.

Xi asked again to confirm, “Did you feel your power fall into chaos just now?”

“No… What’s wrong?” Poke replied groggily.

“It’s nothing.”

Xi pulled Poke along, heading downstream. If he wasn’t mistaken, the contamination should be spreading once again.

Sure enough, when they got downstream, they witnessed an even more terrifying scene.

All the plants along the bank had inevitably burst into flames. The previously normal vegetation had all turned into living torches, and the scorching light of the fire rooted Poke to the spot.

“Did I do this? Was there something wrong with my formula?” he said, stunned, his tone filled with self-reproach.

“It wasn’t you! There’s nothing wrong with your formula!” Xi said angrily. “Why do you doubt yourself every single time? Didn’t I tell you? Your formula is correct!”

Poke didn’t understand why Xi had suddenly become so angry. He stood there, looking at the blazing fire and the furious Xi, at a complete loss.

Xi knew he shouldn’t have lost his temper like that. He forced himself to calm down, then gently placed a hand on Poke’s shoulder and asked, “Poke, why do you always blame yourself? You know it’s not your fault…”

“I…” Poke’s body trembled, and he clasped his hands together. In the end, he still didn’t give an answer.

“Xi, I can still fix this.”

Before Xi could react, Poke shook off his arm and dashed upstream.

Xi was stunned for a moment, then immediately followed. He knew Poke was about to do something foolish again.

Sure enough, when they arrived back at the lake, Poke was already sitting by the water’s edge. It looked like he had already been repelled by the lake once. But he refused to give up, reaching his hand in again, only to be forced back by the powerful energy once more.

At that moment, he stared helplessly at the lake, completely despondent.

“Stop…” Xi said, walking to his side.

“No, there’s still a way… Xi, you mentioned the root healing method just now, right? The root healing method requires immense power, and we have that right here. As long as I erase this parasitic plant from the timeline, none of this will have happened.” Poke once again spoke the familiar words.

As he spoke, Poke flashed with light and threw himself directly into the lake.

“…”

‘Again?’

Watching this scene, Xi didn’t know whether to feel helpless or worried.

He walked to the edge of the lake, hesitated for a moment, and once again made the same choice as last time. A ball of light detached from his body and plunged into the vortex of power.

The chaotic power once again churned his consciousness into a blur…

…

A flash of dazzling light passed, and Xi was once again standing in the jungle.

‘I’m back. I knew this would happen.’

Xi stood his ground, looking behind a nearby tree. If he wasn’t mistaken, Poke would pop out from there any moment.

Sure enough, it wasn’t long before…

“Xi! I knew you would come and help me!” Poke suddenly rushed out and grabbed Xi.

‘Is this a loop?’ Xi wondered, confused.

Poke was about to pull Xi somewhere else when Xi cut him off.

“Poke, do you remember how you got here?”

“Using a Floating Rock from the Hua Sheng Islands. Why?” Poke asked, puzzled.

“This is a Healing Space, do you know that?”

“Of course I know.”

Looking at the completely bewildered Poke, Xi understood. It seemed Poke had no idea he was stuck in a loop.

After a moment of thought, Xi decided to tell Poke what he had been experiencing.

After a lengthy explanation, Poke finally understood the current situation.

But he clearly had trouble accepting it, standing stunned for a long time.

“You’re saying… everything I’m experiencing right now is fake? I’m just repeating a loop? That the patient here was cured a long time ago, and the parasitic plant was already destroyed?”

“Yes,” Xi answered with certainty.

Seeing that Poke was still skeptical, Xi told him about some of the things that happened after the events at the Hua Sheng Islands.

After listening, Poke thought for a moment and said, “But… my memory doesn’t seem to have anything after that. I only remember following the patient here, and then… nothing.”

Poke tried his best to remember, but his memory seemed to stop right there, with nothing that followed. That was why he was so obsessed with destroying the parasitic plant.

Seeing Poke’s dazed expression, Xi quickly asked, “You don’t believe me?”

“Of course not. It’s just… a lot to take in.”

“Can you leave the Healing Space now?” Xi pressed. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

“No, my healing isn’t complete. I’m still continuously outputting power. I can’t leave unless the parasitic plant is truly destroyed,” Poke said helplessly.

“But you can’t destroy it now…”

Xi knew perfectly well that no matter what healing method Poke used now, it would be interfered with by the ‘medicine.’ Those chaotic fragments were everywhere, and since Poke couldn’t sense the corruption in his power, every healing attempt would be twisted. Therefore, Poke couldn’t possibly destroy the parasitic plant; he was doomed to be trapped here forever.

‘If only Senior were here. He could clear away all these fragments…’

Just as Xi was wracking his brain for a solution, a hand suddenly tapped his shoulder.

Xi turned around and saw—it was the very Senior he had just been wishing for!

“Senior, how did you get here? Can you hear my thoughts?” Xi asked excitedly.

“Er, I just happened to wander in.”

When Xi saw Mo Ling arrive, he quickly introduced this “Senior” to Poke, describing Mo Ling as nearly omnipotent.

“Now that Senior is here, he can definitely get you out!”

Mo Ling ignored the two astonished men and began to survey his surroundings.

‘Another new environment…’

He had actually arrived here a while ago, but he just hadn’t run into them.

‘Still, it’s so calm here. Where are the deserts, glaciers, seas of fire, and exploding forests…’
