Chapter 542: Chapter 539: Zero-Dollar Shopping

"Can you get me some cola? I’m all out."

"What’s cola?" Xi asked, confused.

"Hold on..."

The senior vanished, but he quickly reappeared holding a can. Inside the can was a black, carbonated liquid bubbling with strange fizz.

"This is cola. It’s good stuff."

Mo Ling popped the can open and handed it to Xi. "Give it a try."

Xi took the can of strange liquid and studied it in his hands for a long time.

"Why aren’t you drinking? Oh, right, you don’t have a mouth. I almost forgot."

"It’s alright, Senior. I can drink it."

As he spoke, Xi raised the can and poured it toward the ball of light that was his head...

The strange, black, bubbling liquid poured into the burning ball of light. It was like pouring a can of gasoline onto a raging fire. The orb of light violently flared up, its radiance instantly illuminating the entire Healing Space.

Xi was overwhelmed by the unparalleled sweetness and the explosive fizz, unable to calm down for a long time.

"What is this, Senior?"

Xi asked, his voice trembling as he clutched the can.

"Cola. A carbonated beverage, junk food, the kind of stuff that’ll make you infertile..."

Mo Ling’s voice entered Xi’s mind like a magic spell. He didn’t hear the jokingly negative descriptions at all, only committing the name of this black liquid to memory—Cola.

"Senior, do you want me to create this stuff?"

"Exactly! You should be able to make this, right? You can even make a sofa."

"Of course I can..."

Soon enough, Xi used fragments of stalactite to produce a large amount of cola, and Mo Ling happily transported it back into the Block.

...

In the end, Mo Ling decided against the television. The diesel generator was too noisy, so he couldn’t use electricity, which meant other appliances were out of the question, too. Mo Ling decided to quit while he was ahead.

"The furniture is all set. Let’s see, what else do I need... Forget it, this is good for now. Next time I’m missing something, I’ll come find you."

Mo Ling clapped Xi on the shoulder. "Xi, you’re a great doctor!"

Xi was a little embarrassed. "You’re too kind, Senior. This is something any healer could do. I was just following your instructions."

"So much potential! So much potential!" Mo Ling clapped him on the shoulder twice, a bit harder this time.

Xi felt even more humbled. "Senior, why did you have me create so many things? These are all human objects, and everything in the Healing Space is an illusion. They shouldn’t have any real use, right?"

"Of course they’re useful! They treat my ’sickness of the heart’!" Mo Ling immediately retorted.

’Sickness of the heart?’ Xi was confused. He always found his senior’s words to be hazy and unclear.

"You’re a good doctor, Xi. Don’t ever let your abilities go to waste." The senior in front of him spoke earnestly before disappearing.

"See you later!"

The senior’s voice echoed within the Healing Space. Just like his arrival, his departure was completely silent. It seemed that entering and exiting Xi’s Healing Space was an incredibly simple matter for him.

’Senior is so amazing...’ Xi couldn’t help but marvel.

...

In the cave, Xi walked with a start-and-stop pace, as if something was on his mind. He would occasionally zone out for a moment.

Li Luo noticed something was wrong and quickly asked, "What’s the matter? Is there a problem with this shortcut?"

"It’s nothing..." Xi said, transforming the fragment of stalactite in his hand into a can of cola.

When Li Luo saw this, her eyes widened instantly.

"Did that senior healer come looking for you again?"

"How did you know?"

"Uh... you were just talking to yourself. You said ’Senior’," Li Luo quickly came up with an excuse.

"I did?" Xi asked, skeptical.

"You did."

Seeing the serious look in Li Luo’s eyes, Xi didn’t doubt her any longer.

"The senior did come to see me just now, but I could feel that he was very far away."

"Very far away?"

"Yes. Even though the senior is very powerful, there was almost no fluctuation in his energy. It was like he entered my Healing Space from a great distance. I felt it very clearly this time..." Xi said with great certainty.

Li Luo’s gaze flickered to the motionless Block in midair, and she nodded at Xi.

"But what is the senior’s goal? Is he testing my healing abilities by having me create so many things? And what did he mean by a ’sickness of the heart’?" Xi began to puzzle over the senior’s strange behavior again.

Hearing Xi muttering to himself and seeing the can of cola in his hand, Li Luo had a good idea of what had happened.

"Don’t worry about it. Once we get to the Central Islands, we might be able to find him."

"That’s true."

Xi popped open the can of cola in his hand and poured it toward the ball of light that was his head.

The burning ball of light erupted instantly, illuminating the entire cave and making the path ahead incredibly bright.

Li Luo stared at the sudden flare-up of light, startled, and took a few steps back.

"What is this?"

"It’s a gift from the senior!" Xi’s voice was suddenly firm, filled with fighting spirit.

"Let’s go! I’ve never felt more clear-headed!" With the dazzling ball of light on his shoulders, Xi strode off into the depths of the cave.

Li Luo sighed, glanced at the nonchalant Block hanging in midair, and turned to follow him.

...

Xi seemed to have become very excited, his pace quickening considerably.

Before long, a light appeared ahead.

"It’s the exit!" Xi strode forward and rushed to the cave mouth.

"Be careful," he reminded Li Luo.

Hearing this, Li Luo slowed her pace and walked to the edge of the opening.

A pebble rolled past Li Luo’s feet, went over the edge of the opening, and flew out into the open.

Li Luo peered out. Beyond the cave mouth was an endless expanse of clouds and mist, completely obscuring the distance. They had unknowingly arrived at the outer rock face of the lower part of Hundred Flowers Island, and were now looking down on the cloud layer below.

A small stream flowed out of the cave and plunged into the bottomless sea of clouds. Just looking at the swirling mist was enough to make one’s heart quail.

"Is there really an island down there?"

"Yes. Senluo Island, the lowest of the Hua Sheng Islands and the richest in species."

"Senluo Island?"

Li Luo took out her electronic tablet and checked the map of the Hua Sheng Islands. She found that such a Sky Island did exist, but there was very little information about it in the human databases.

’Looks like I’ll have to rely on Xi to lead the way after all.’

Gazing at the mist below, Li Luo carefully extended a hand out of the cave. A powerful gust of wind almost yanked her out. Fortunately, she pulled her hand back just in time and escaped disaster.

"How are we supposed to get down?"

"Jump."

Xi’s reply was shocking, a completely unexpected answer.

"Jump? Isn’t it high up here?" Li Luo asked, looking at the clouds below in confusion.

"Very high."

"Then wouldn’t jumping be certain death?"

"We won’t die. At worst, we’ll be smashed to smithereens... But I can bring you back," Xi said, looking at the ethereal mist with the utmost seriousness.
