I'm Trapped in the Block
Chapter 486 - 483: Bottle Cap’s Guidance
Chapter 486: Chapter 483: Bottle Cap’s Guidance
Old Bu was silent for a long time before speaking again. He was still wary of Mo Ling. "You should go ask Lord Ying. Let it make the decision."
"But Lord Ying is very busy. It hasn’t responded to us in a long time. If we bother it with something so small, it’ll be annoyed."
"You’re right..." Old Bu seemed to have finally been convinced.
"What can it do?" Old Bu asked.
"It can fly, just like me, and it’s very strong. It can help me clean up the trash. I’ll teach it."
"Alright, take it to work for now. When Lord Ying responds, I’ll report this matter to it."
After getting Old Bu’s approval, Bottle Cap was overjoyed, spinning several times in the air.
"Let’s go! I’ll take you to work. You’re my apprentice now!"
And just like that, Mo Ling had inexplicably gained a bottle cap for a master.
Mo Ling followed his bottle cap master to the top of the projector.
"In a bit, copy me and hit this button, understand?"
Bottle Cap made a few ramming motions, then stopped in front of the button, as if to see if Mo Ling had understood.
Mo Ling quickly controlled the Block to copy Bottle Cap, ramming toward the button before stopping just in time.
"Yes, yes, yes, just like that! But don’t stop. Hit it directly." As Bottle Cap spoke, it slammed into the button. This time, it didn’t stop but hit it head-on.
Then, the red figure vanished.
’Where did it go?’ Mo Ling was stunned.
He looked at the button doubtfully, then copied Bottle Cap’s movement and rammed into it.
The expected impact never came. Mo Ling felt as if he had plunged directly into a flowing river and was being swept downstream. Streaks of light and shadow flashed past, distorted by the sheer speed.
’What is this place?’
Before Mo Ling could get a good look, the light and shadows around him came to a sudden halt.
"I was worried you didn’t make it!" Bottle Cap’s voice came from beside the Block.
Only then did Mo Ling realize he was back on the ground.
This place seemed to be a ravaged forest. Toppled trees lay scattered everywhere, with only a few still standing precariously.
Mo Ling recognized it at a glance. These were the trees destroyed by those invisible attacks. Various small, rust-covered objects were buried in the soil.
However, the smell of rust here wasn’t strong; it was very faint.
’Is this the forest that the circular area has already swept over?’ Mo Ling quickly realized.
In other words, this was an area where the "movie" had finished playing.
’So, "cleaning up the trash" means cleaning these areas where the movie has finished? But what exactly are we cleaning?’
The Bottle Cap next to him seemed very excited, spinning nonstop in the sky.
"That was fun, right? That’s Lord Ying’s focus button! It can send us anywhere on the island!"
’Focus?’ Mo Ling was stunned for a moment before it clicked.
’The focus can teleport you?’
’Could it be that this "Lord Ying" is a relic?’
Most of Mo Ling’s confusion was instantly cleared up.
’If it’s an animated relic, then all these strange phenomena would make sense...’
’History affecting reality, teleportation... only relics could have such strange powers. I just don’t know what Lord Ying’s purpose is.’
"Let’s get to work, apprentice!"
Bottle Cap flew excitedly toward a large tree, and Mo Ling immediately followed.
"This kind of thing is trash, understand? We have to clean it up promptly!" Bottle Cap circled the tree, explaining to Mo Ling, "But this is just the first type of trash. I’ll show you all of them, one by one."
"Okay, I’m going to start cleaning now. Watch closely!"
Bottle Cap flew to the top of the large tree and hovered right over its center.
Mo Ling suddenly felt a connection form between Bottle Cap and the tree, a connection that grew steadily stronger.
The tree clearly sensed something. It suddenly rose up and began to struggle.
This was clearly an animated tree. As it moved, Bottle Cap flipped in sync, like a gyroscope balancing on the treetop.
The animated tree could also feel the source of the connection. It thrashed its branches wildly, trying to knock Bottle Cap out of the sky, but it couldn’t reach.
So, it tried a new tactic. It shuddered, shaking off the few leaves it had left, which then shot toward Bottle Cap like bullets.
’It can even control its leaves?’
Just as the leaves were about to hit Bottle Cap, and Mo Ling was about to step in to help, Bottle Cap made its move.
The floating Bottle Cap suddenly flipped over. It went from being right-side up to upside-down.
At the same time, the tree, bound by that strange connection, also flipped over instantly. It was ripped out of the ground, roots and all, and slammed crown-first into the earth.
A bottle cap can flip, but a tree cannot.
Its branches shattered instantly, and its root system was completely torn apart during the flip.
It was like grabbing a person, turning them upside-down, and slamming them violently into the ground. The great tree immediately lost its ability to fight, and the scattered leaves lost all control, fluttering to the ground.
But it wasn’t over. Bottle Cap seemed to have no intention of letting the tree off.
It began to flip again, from upside-down back to right-side up.
The great tree flipped over once more, landing upright on the ground. But it was clearly lifeless now. Its roots were destroyed and its branches broken; it was only held upright by Bottle Cap’s connection.
The teetering tree had no ability to resist anymore, but Bottle Cap still wasn’t done with it.
Bottle Cap began to flip again.
Right-side up, upside-down, right-side up, upside-down...
The dying tree was tossed back and forth like a ragdoll, slammed into the dirt, flipped over, and slammed down again...
Finally, the animated tree could no longer withstand the abuse and snapped in two.
"Cleaning complete."
The connection between Bottle Cap and the tree was instantly severed. It flew excitedly over to the Block and bumped against it.
"Did you get it? See? Simple!"
Now Mo Ling finally understood what "cleaning" meant. It really was manual labor.
’I can’t believe this unexpected master of mine is also a relic, and likely an animated one at that.’
’No wonder it thought I was a newcomer. Is it because I’m a relic too?’
Mo Ling finally understood why Bottle Cap had been so friendly to him.
Mo Ling quickly made the Block tremble to show that he understood.
"So smart! Now it’s your turn to clean up the trash! That one over there..." Bottle Cap led Mo Ling to another large tree.
"Don’t worry if you don’t get it clean on the first try. I couldn’t either when I started. But if you keep at it a few times, it’ll come out clean. It’s hard work, but it really tests your patience..."
