I'm Trapped in the Block
Chapter 418 - 415: God Creation Technique
Chapter 418: Chapter 415: God Creation Technique
"Are you planning to create a god?" Mo Ling asked curiously.
"Of course not. I don’t have that kind of power."
"Then what’s your plan?" Mo Ling thought for a long time but couldn’t imagine how the balloon would make a god appear.
"This ball of thread is all I need."
"The ball of thread?" Mo Ling still didn’t understand.
"Yes. Didn’t you say before that the world will be destroyed when the god descends? Well, the hostility that can destroy the world is right here."
"We just need to hasten the destruction, and the god will descend sooner," the balloon explained.
"But... even if the world is destroyed, the god won’t necessarily descend. There’s no causal relationship between the two."
"That’s not right," the balloon retorted. "If the god will descend, and the world will also be destroyed at the moment of its descent, then it means that when the world is destroyed, the god will descend."
The balloon’s logic made Mo Ling’s head spin.
"That’s not right. What if the world is destroyed and the god *doesn’t* descend?" Mo Ling pressed.
"If the god doesn’t descend, the world won’t be destroyed. Your assumption is incorrect," the balloon immediately retorted.
Mo Ling fell silent. He decided not to argue with the balloon about this anymore.
"Just tell me how you’re going to make the destruction happen sooner."
"Just make the thread thicker," the balloon replied nonchalantly. "By twining multiple threads together..."
The balloon extended a sponge-like thread and grabbed the tangled ball of thread.
The sponge thread immediately began to weave through the ball, coiling and kneading it. Before long, the ball of thread had shrunk significantly, and the strands within it had grown much thicker.
The balloon braided the strands together.
And so, the ball of thread continued to shrink and thicken, eventually becoming a circular coil that resembled a hair tie.
"That should do it."
The balloon bent the coil in half, folded it, and continued to knead it. The coil shrank to half its previous size and grew even thicker.
Mo Ling finally understood the balloon’s technique.
’I can’t believe it... The God Creation Technique is this simple.’
As the thread grew thicker, the time until the hostility’s descent grew shorter and shorter.
"Twelve hours..."
"Six hours..."
"Three minutes..."
With three minutes left until the world’s destruction, the balloon finally stopped.
It held the coil that would destroy the world and stated plainly:
"Let’s leave it at three minutes."
"In three minutes, the world will be destroyed."
The coil capable of destroying the world was held silently in the balloon’s sponge thread, looking as ordinary as a common hair tie.
"Shouldn’t we prepare?" Mo Ling asked, looking at the coil with great concern.
"Prepare what?"
"This is a world you’ve lived in, after all. Aren’t you going to take one last look at its beauty before it’s destroyed?" Mo Ling felt the whole thing was being treated too casually.
"There’s no need. This world will meet its glorious death. This was always its destiny."
"But... you might be destroyed, too."
’No one knows what form the world’s destruction will take. Can the beings here escape?’
’Mo Ling was even a little afraid. As an outsider, would he be obliterated along with the world?’
The balloon, however, wasn’t worried in the slightest.
"I won’t be destroyed."
"Why?"
"Because I don’t feel any hostility, which means I’m safe," it said with conviction.
"But..." Before Mo Ling could object, the balloon cut him off.
"Time’s almost up. Thirty seconds."
"Twenty seconds..."
"Ten seconds..."
"Five... four... three... two... one."
The instant the balloon said "zero," the coil in its hand suddenly snapped, scattering into countless fragments.
The hostility descended.
In the desolate cosmos, threads suddenly materialized out of thin air. They stretched in from all directions, reaching toward the infinite distance. They appeared and snapped in the same instant, as if the source and target of the hostility had both vanished at the exact same moment.
Mo Ling and the balloon, however, remained floating in the void, completely unharmed.
’Nothing happened?’
Mo Ling had expected the world’s destruction to be a cataclysmic event.
But his surroundings were unexpectedly calm.
The threads that had appeared sporadically flickered for a while before vanishing completely.
No falling skies or collapsing earth, no shattering planets or fiery explosions. Everything was unnervingly normal.
In the desolate cosmos, Mo Ling and the balloon simply floated in silence, waiting for a long time.
"I see now," the balloon said, suddenly breaking the silence.
"The world’s destruction is a process. Now that the hostility has descended, the actual destruction will take a very long time. This world will continue to exist for a long while, perhaps longer than we can imagine."
"And the god? When will it descend?" Mo Ling pressed.
"It is already descending." ℯℯ𝑙.
"Where?" Mo Ling looked all around but saw nothing.
When he looked back at the balloon, it had fallen completely silent.
A long time passed in silence...
"It’s here."
The balloon suddenly uttered this, seemingly out of nowhere.
"What does that mean?" Mo Ling was utterly confused.
"We’re leaving this world. The wish has been granted."
"Granted? The wish was to leave this world?"
"More or less. A large part of the wish has been granted."
"Huh?" Mo Ling’s mind was a complete mess; he had no idea what was happening.
The balloon floated slowly, circling Mo Ling a few times as if trying to get a better look at him.
"I never thought the wish would be granted this way."
Then, the balloon suddenly floated over Mo Ling’s head.
"Can you feel the hostility from the real world?"
"What?" Mo Ling looked up but saw nothing.
"Look closer. You should be able to see it. Don’t limit yourself to what’s right in front of you. That hostility is everywhere. You have to rise to the surface of the water to see it clearly."
"Hold on to me." The balloon’s sponge-like thread trembled slightly as it wrapped around Mo Ling’s palm.
Suddenly, a constricting sensation washed over him. Mo Ling felt as if his body were being entangled by countless threads.
But with a single tug, the balloon freed Mo Ling from the threads.
The threads, however, refused to give up, twisting and wrapping around him once more.
Mo Ling’s sponge-like body was completely torn apart by the terrifying force.
Fragments of sponge were ripped away and scattered. The threads of hostility bored into every hole in his body, running rampant through the gaps in his spongy form. Mo Ling felt as if countless greedy maggots were breeding inside him, gnawing their way madly through his pores.
"Don’t let the hostility control you! You are its master!"
Just then, the balloon’s voice rang out again. Like a clap of thunder, it pierced Mo Ling’s body and instantly annihilated all the maggots.
Relief. Unprecedented relief.
Mo Ling felt light, as if floating, completely unburdened.
It was just like the very beginning, when he first arrived in this world and was floating in the ash of the Volcano.
He was enveloped in warm smoke and dust, filled with a strange sense of peace.
