I'm Trapped in the Block
Chapter 404 - 401: Transparent World
Chapter 404: Chapter 401: Transparent World
"This way," Fatty said, holding a round building block and pointing in a certain direction.
"But that’s not what the map says," Li Luo said doubtfully. "I flipped the map over. My direction should be the right one."
"You can’t use the map. This place is complete chaos. We can only reach the right place by jumping between different Divine Sacrifice Sites. Trust me," Fatty said, its tone firm.
It handed the round block to Li Luo. On top of it was a long, thin block that acted as a needle, pointing in the direction Fatty had indicated.
Li Luo spun in place a few times, but the block needle kept pointing in the same direction.
"What is this? A compass?"
Fatty shook its head. "It’s a Divine Needle."
"It points to wherever a god is?"
"Exactly. You catch on quick," Fatty said approvingly.
Li Luo, still skeptical, handed the "Divine Needle" back to Fatty.
Fatty stuffed the Divine Needle directly back into its body and explained, "If you follow the map, you’ll just get lost in a single Divine Sacrifice Site. We have to find the entrances to the others..."
Fatty squatted down and began to gesture on the mirrored surface.
"The different Divine Sacrifice Sites in the Sea of Creation are like squares in a maze. The exit is in one of them, and we can only find it by constantly trying different ones."
"You’ll never find the exit if you just keep going in circles in the same square."
Seeing how serious Fatty looked, Li Luo could only nod. "Alright, I’ll follow you for a bit. If we don’t find anything, I’m going back to the map."
She still couldn’t bring herself to fully trust Fatty.
"No problem. Let’s go." Fatty stood up, and the blocks on its body began to shift and rearrange with a CLICK-CLACK, finally forming a giant block-turtle.
"Humans move too slowly. Climb on, I’ll carry you." An inviting voice came from the block-turtle.
After a moment’s hesitation, Li Luo climbed directly onto the turtle’s shell.
"Hold on tight."
The words had barely left its mouth when the block-turtle began to accelerate, then took off at a run across the mirrored surface.
The block-turtle looked clumsy, but it ran surprisingly fast. Li Luo was caught off guard and nearly thrown off. Luckily, she managed to grab hold of a protrusion on the blocks, anchoring herself to the shell.
The fierce wind whipped at Li Luo’s clothes, making them snap loudly.
The block-turtle was like a tank with no regard for traffic laws, ramming a path straight through the mirrored sea.
The rampaging block-turtle sent the glass creatures scattering in fear. Any that couldn’t dodge in time were shattered on impact.
As the shards were about to rain down on her, Li Luo raised an arm to shield herself, but she felt no pain when they made contact.
"Jelly?"
Li Luo froze. The shards felt like soft jelly and didn’t hurt her at all.
"What fragile creatures," Li Luo couldn’t help but remark.
In this way, the block-turtle shattered countless glass creatures, finally arriving at a place resembling a coral reef.
The coral reef was also completely transparent, and the small creatures swimming within were clearly visible. But because it was so massive, the light refracting through it completely obscured the view behind it.
"Almost there. It’s right behind this. Hold on!"
The block-turtle didn’t slow down, charging straight for the coral reef.
The soft coral reef shattered instantly, and a shower of transparent jelly rained down on Li Luo.
Even though the fragments were soft, Li Luo still squeezed her eyes shut.
After a moment of being pelted by jelly, the block-turtle finally came to a stop.
"We’re here," the block-turtle said to Li Luo on its back.
Li Luo slowly opened her eyes, only to be stunned by the scene before her.
It was still a boundless, mirrored surface, but the ecosystem here was far more complex than in the previous area:
Giant, transparent seaweed swayed as it reached for the sky.
Plankton drifted everywhere, rising and falling with invisible currents.
Vast schools of transparent fish weaved through the seaweed.
Equally transparent Hunters followed the schools, looking for an opportunity.
Li Luo could even see massive sea creatures drifting past in the distance.
"It’s so lively."
If everything weren’t transparent, Li Luo would have thought she’d arrived in a vibrant underwater world.
"This is another Land of Divine Sacrifice," the block-turtle said.
Li Luo pushed down her surprise for the moment and jumped off the turtle’s shell.
The block-turtle shifted again, changing back into its Fatty form.
"It’s beautiful here..." Li Luo said in admiration, gazing at the crystal-clear glass world.
"But it’s dangerous." Fatty’s expression, by contrast, was very serious. "We don’t know what race this Land of Divine Sacrifice belongs to, or what its rules are."
Too much life wasn’t necessarily a good thing. Even though the glass creatures were transparent, they obscured the view when they overlapped.
Not only that, but the constant movement of the glass creatures made the surroundings chaotic, making it hard to notice approaching danger.
Fatty’s words put Li Luo on alert.
In the "sky" above, several glass sharks closed in on a school of fish. Some blocked their path while others herded them, compressing the school tighter and tighter. Once the fish were too dense to move freely, the sharks swarmed in, splitting the school apart.
The smaller groups of fish that fell behind were instantly devoured. Their shattered flesh, still twitching, fell into the sharks’ transparent stomachs, as if unaware they were already dead.
The cruelty of nature was on full display in this transparent world.
The flesh in their stomachs still twitched as the sharks regrouped and moved on to their next victims...
The brutal hunt made Li Luo’s heart grow heavy.
She quickly looked down at the calm, mirrored surface.
But even there, countless hunts were taking place.
A giant crawfish raised its pincers and viciously crushed a small, soft fish. Broken in two, the fish’s body still twitched incessantly.
The crawfish scuttled forward and greedily devoured the flesh.
As the crawfish was enjoying its meal, a tentacle snuck up silently behind it.
The moment it let its guard down, the tentacle shot out and wrapped around it, binding the crawfish tightly.
The crawfish tried to struggle, but the tentacle coiled around it, and a violent contraction followed.
Under the immense pressure, the crawfish’s transparent flesh burst from its shell, meat splattering in all directions.
Its limbs broke off, becoming twitching, severed segments.
Within the tentacle’s grasp, the crawfish was quickly reduced to a pile of writhing flesh and delivered into a giant maw filled with sharp teeth.
The slaughter continued...
