Arriving at the next person just a moment later, the girl was flying towards the ice island, not even a second later already being healed.

Then another person, and another. In just a few minutes a few dozen people were already brought to safety.

But even then did the screams reduce faster than he could save them, especially because of the powerful runic attributes of the ship parts.

If not for that, he could’ve simply disintegrated it in a whole and changed its shape to something easier to search.

Landing next to some body who was already dead, he would’ve loved to save his corpse as well.

But bringing it to the other already mentally unstable students would only make all of this worse.

Instead, he formed an ice shell around him to protect him from any unnecessary danger or harm.

Just as he was about to finish this one, something below him changed, as the body began to slide to the side.

The ship was sinking much quicker than he had expected, as he dodged a wooden box flying from a higher deck.

If it continues that way, Steven was sure he wouldn’t be able to save many more, but instead of falling into despair, he moved his arm.

And with all his might did he press down, as with a loud bang it came to a stop.

The entire ship had stopped turning to the side as sweat started dropping down from his head.

It was much harder than he could have ever imagined, probably because of the magic blocking runes in combination with him not trying to destroy it even further.

It was a battle of precision, and for the first time since coming to this school, he felt he wasn’t good enough.

Feeling the boat slowly crumble under his force, he didn’t have any other option but to stop it.

After just a few seconds of complete silence, the boat started sinking again.

To save the rest, he had to sacrifice some of them; that’s just how life was.

But before he could even search for his next target to save, someone stepped behind him.

"Steven, what are you doing here?" Someone spoke with confusion.

As he quickly turned around, his gaze fell upon Syno, who was bleeding heavily from his arm.

"What do you think I am doing, saving you guys?" he shouted, while already finding his next target. "I don’t have time to speak; we need to save them."

"I know, but just wait for a moment." Syno answered, following him through the wreck.

"Speak and hurry up." Steven finally answered while moving a pillar away, revealing an injured guard below it.

Healing his body, Steven didn’t hesitate before throwing him to the others far away.

"I think I know of a way to save the ship from sinking," Syno whispered, catching Stevens’ attention.

Stopping his work for just a moment, he turned towards the student. "What? How?" He could barely speak as the words fell out of his mouth.

"The explosion earlier... It didn’t blow up the entire runic core; that’s why it’s nearly impossible to move the ship with magic." Syno spoke so fast barely anyone could have understood him.

But Steven had heard what he needed; if he destroyed the core completely, he should be able to hold the ship back.

Especially because his powers started returning quicker and quicker since lifting the seal from his body.

"But who is going to take care of the injured people? I doubt you have enough mana for them." He tried to debate, but even then Syno’s solution was their greatest chance.

Just as Syno was about to speak, two more presences drew closer quickly, interrupting him. Just before they arrived, Steven put on the guard’s mask again to hide his identity.

"We are going to save them." An unfamiliar male voice from an unfamiliar mana spoke behind him.

Followed by a female voice. "Destroy the core; we will handle the rest."

Turning his head towards the new guest, the two people were wearing long robes and a mask hiding their faces.

Just that one of the masks looked exactly like a sun, while the other looked like a full moon.

"How interesting have the two heroes decided to join our little party?" Steven spoke, trying to inspect them, but their magical clothing was hiding them perfectly.

Getting no answer from them, Steven let out a sigh, but not wanting to wait even longer, he started his way to the machine room.

Even on his way he had to heal nearly a dozen more people in critical condition to ensure their survival.

Finally arriving at the gigantic rune doors, which looked more like a piece of metal by now, he quickly passed them.

Standing inside the machine, he was wondering how it was even in one piece anymore.

The cracks from Qwenz’s death had not only returned but also widened significantly.

But also a fierce fire had started, melting the room and blocking his sight with smoke.

The room was probably only holding together because the incoming water had evaporated from the flames inside, and the flames blocked by the water from destroying even more.

It was like a balance of chaos freezing everything in place.

Walking through the flames, he couldn’t even feel their heat on his body as the grace of hell activated itself.

Towards the centre of the flames, he could feel a great point of mana constantly vibrating.

Leaving the tornado of flames into its eye of the storm, he saw a steel ball filled with green runes hovering in the middle.

’’There you are. ’’ Steven spoke to himself, grabbing it with one hand.

Just as he was about to crush it into pieces, some footsteps behind him caught his attention.

It was one of the unfamiliar manas from before.

Turning his head, he stared at the guy wearing a sun mask.

"You’re the one responsible for all of this, aren’t you?’’ The masked man spoke.
