Steven hid inside a small chamber, hearing some guard step back into his room, finally letting out a deep breath.

He tried to listen to their conversation.

"How long are we even going to stay here? I am already getting seasick.’’ One of the guards complained to his friend.

As a female voice answered. ’’Should take us roughly a day, so get some medication.’’

’’I don’t want to go to this nurse; she scares me.’’ The guard answered, his voice filled with disgust.

’’She might be weird sometimes, but she is really good at her work.

Remember when Jakek got sick? She took care of him well.’’ The female guard tried to debate, but her own voice was even slightly disgusted.

"Ok, ok, I will if you say so..." The guy answered in a grumpy tone as they started walking away.

"Do I really have to hide a whole day inside of this room?" Steven whispered to himself while trying to position himself more comfortably.

But no matter how much he tried, this room just wasn’t big enough for him to even sit down, not even to think about lying down.

As he could slowly feel the mana of even the weakest students awaking inside their rooms, the confusion was great.

Over time nearly every room was filled with screams or early attempts to escape; the students only realized after a while that this was the event they had been preparing for.

With the confusion slowly settling down, everyone started falling asleep once more, giving Steven the chance to move.

Exiting the small chamber, he made sure June’s bracelet was still working perfectly, allowing him to walk past a sleeping guard towards the front of the boat.

From what he had felt, the students’ rooms were all without excepting in the back of the ship, filling up great parts of it.

But it made him wonder, why only use the back? Especially when the front also had usable living rooms.

The simplest answer was that they were being used by staff members, meaning Professor Alem’s too would be at the front somewhere for him to find.

Even if he wished to not be able to find it, he had to try it at least.

Walking silently over the deck, a few students had already left their rooms, probably not able to sleep or trying to prepare for something.

One of them was Syno, who, in comparison to his classmates, was simply relaxing on a deck chair, staring up into the star-filled sky.

Allowing himself a little fun, Steven stepped behind him, grabbing some drops of water from the air.

And while nobody was watching, did he allow them to fall, directly landing on top of Syno’s face, who jumped awake, nearly hitting Stevens’ arm?

As the student turned around confused about where the water had come from, he instead gave a group of young students not too far away a death glare, probably blaming them.

"Just wait until we see you at the event," Syno yelled towards them, slowly laying back down on the deck chair as the group moved away.

Throwing another water drop while quickly stepping away, he could hear Syno’s screams behind him growing louder each second.

As Steven tried to hold back a chuckle, he walked over towards a gigantic pool, simply stepping over its water, allowing him to easily avoid any person getting close.

But with every step he took, the water around him began to slowly freeze, confusing him. He was sure his mana was completely stable, so why were his spells going wild?

As the ice only grew, he hurried away towards an entrance downwards, not even able to check in time if it was guarded.

He just opened the first door he found, which was to his luck completely empty.

Stepping inside a luxurious room decorated with golden highlights, the can of glass started cracking under the cold.

Making Steven realize what was happening, he tapped on his bracelet, turning himself visible once more.

As the freezing cold instantly stopped, something was broken with Junes’ artifacts, and Steven had no idea what it was.

Sitting down on the bed, Steven tried to find out what was wrong with the artifact as he took it off his wrist, trying to inspect it.

He could hear somebody outside the door talking, as Steven could feel the person trying to open the door.

Steven used the first hiding place he found, throwing himself under the bed as the door opened completely.

And with somebody stepping inside, Steven instantly used his own magic to turn himself invisible.

’’Why the hell was this stupid door locked?’’ A familiar male voice yelled while sitting down heavily on the bed.

Steven could finally recognize the man; it was Qwenz. But why, in the name of hell, was he inside a staff room and not a student dorm?

And even worse, he wasn’t even part of the event in the first place, as he wasn’t a member of Alem’s classes.

Would there be another student entering as an event like Lumiel and Edward did? Steven had just too many questions, but the thought of Qwenz sitting above him pushed them all away in disgust.

Why was it always him that got into those stupid situations? Couldn’t it be like an empty room or at least somebody he was friends with and not some aggressive giant?

Suddenly Qwenz shifted above him, his mana turning active as if he were cautious of something.

And without any warning, the bed was pierced with a water blade, barely missing Stevens’ arms by an inch.

Jumping away from the bed despite his invisibility was Qwenz staring directly at him, his eyes filled with rage.

Steven turned himself visible, holding his arms up in surrender. ’’It’s me relaxing.’’ He was trying to sound calming.

But just another water blade was flying his way; he had to block it with his arm, letting it cut into the wall deeply.

’’What are you doing inside my room?’’ Qwenz growled at him as the water spirit started flying around them.

"I... this is my room, not yours," Steven spoke, nearly asking himself how stupid his answer was.

As Qwenz stared at him in disbelief, even the spirit stopped moving. "Wait, are you sure?" the giant asked, looking confused.

"Yes, I am pretty sure..." Steven continued to lie at the giant, who hurried up from the bed.

Quickly pulling open the door, ’’You... I am sorry... And about the bed... just do whatever you were doing before. Everyone has their own thing.’’

And with that, did the giant hurry outside, but Steven wasn’t sure which of the two of them was more embarrassed about the whole situation.

Neither could he believe what he had said would actually be believed by somebody, even the stupid giant.

Slowly stepping away from the broken wall Steven felt ill, just from thinking about what had happened.

So to free himself from those thoughts, he pulled a chair closer, sitting down on it again, trying to repair June’s bracelet.

As he could feel its growing even colder, it was the small part of June’s mana inside of it shaking as if it were scared of something.

Even his highly cold-resistant skin started freezing just from touching it. ’’Why is her mana still connected to her body?’’ He asked himself, confused.

From what he had heard before in class, normally people cut their connection towards their mana, making it unusable for their user to be filled with their mana.

But even then June had always been a special case when it came to her artifacts, and maybe there was some other use when still being connected to it.

"You have to be kidding me," Steven cursed, wanting to crush the artifact into pieces but couldn’t bring himself to do it.

’’Fuck those bitches,’’ as he threw the bracelet to the ground. Finally realizing why there was still mana left.

It was just like a tracker, meaning every time she wanted, she would know where the bracelet was and maybe even more.

Bending down, he grabbed the crossblade from the chains; it had stayed the same the entire time, meaning its connection was severed from June.

Placing the blade inside his pockets, Steven grabbed the wristband with his other hand as he casually walked over towards the window.

Opening it calmly, he stared outside in the darkness of the night and the water below and, with a smile, extended his arm.

Dropping the bracelet into the water, it was quickly left behind by the great speed of the boat.

As he could even see it freeze some parts of the water before disappearing completely from his side.

Sitting down on the bed, he knew staying inside the room would be dangerous, as when Qwenz finally decides to ask somebody where his room is, Steven would have a problem.

Turning himself invisible, Steven climbed outside the window.

Barely holding himself against its sides.
