I'm Crushing on Gorgeous Faces in Variety Shows!
Chapter 890 - 889: The Start of Episode 10
"Do you remember how you introduced yourself in the pilot episode?"
"Of course," she waved at the camera, pulling out a long-legged plush monkey from her bag,
"Hello everyone, I’m Mu Qiu. This is my teammate, and we are a duo. It’s called God, and my nickname is Perspective. Our duo’s name is God’s Perspective."
Thinking of God’s Perspective reminds her of Cheng Zhirang’s complicated expression when she said this to him initially, and her subsequent line, "I’m really going to be dazzled by you," still makes her want to laugh even now.
So, after saying it, she started laughing.
The director asked again, "Today, there will be a segment where fans ask you questions. What do you think fans are most likely to ask?"
Without hesitation, she replied, "Have you written anything? Any updates? Have you saved any drafts? Do you have a conscience? Doesn’t your conscience hurt when you stop updating?"
Now the two people in front started laughing.
She sighed and said, "I’m still on the path to finding the true meaning of life, so everyone, don’t panic."
"What do you think of the format for this episode? What do you think it will be like?"
Mu Qiu: "It should echo the pilot episode, right? Let’s see what everyone’s like after blending through the pilot and nine episodes. Ah, does that mean there won’t be any guest stars this episode?"
"That’s right, only you all are in this episode."
With a series of questions and answers, the car stopped at the coast.
She opened the car door and got out, her hair instantly blowing everywhere, with two or three strands stubbornly stuck to her face no matter how she brushed them away.
She squinted forward; on the other side of this small sea was all lush greenery. On the not-so-high mountain, buildings were dotted around, mostly villas.
Looking further to the right, there was a large bridge in the distance, connecting both sides of the coast.
"...There’s clearly a bridge; why do we have to take a boat?"
The car remained running. The on-site director leaned out the car window and said to her, "This is your challenge. We’ll take the luggage across the bridge; you find your own boat to cross the sea. Goodbye!"
After saying it, the car window rolled up, and the car drove away.
Drove away—
Mu Qiu stood there, stunned: "What do you mean? We have to find a boat? Where? Isn’t there a scheduled boat?"
Following her getting out of the car, the camera followed her gaze and took a shot of the empty beach. There were some low wooden buildings partly built in the sea, and on the sea, a few inflatable boats bobbed with the waves, tied to posts.
No way, paddle an inflatable kayak across the sea? Before reaching the destination, I might end up in the sea to be nibbled by fish, right?
"The production team might be crazy," she immediately turned around to head back, "I’m going back to call a cab to cross the bridge; I’ve got cash."
After a few steps, someone called her name from behind.
"Mu Qiu! Mu Qiu, where are you going?!"
It’s Guan Yu, this screechy voice is exactly like when singing high notes.
Finally found a fellow villager.
With a delighted expression, she ran towards the sea, joining Guan Yu and Shu Ran.
Shu Ran wore tight jeans and a camisole, too skinny, wearing only sunglasses and holding a phone, looking grumpy from the sun.
Guan Yu had a rustic style, with a short T-shirt, shorts, and a plaid shirt. The sea breeze inflated her shirt into a big bubble, looking like she had a fan inside, appearing very cool.
"You guys got dumped here too, huh? The director just said we need to find a boat to get across the sea. Is he serious? Where are the boats besides those few inflatable ones?"
Shu Ran, with a glum face, gritted out: "Besides inflatable boats, there are other inflatables over there, two yachts, but they’re just for the sea park."
Guan Yu added, "In that stilted building, there are some uncles and lots of life vests. Looks like we’ll have to use that equipment to get across; it’s exciting."
She imagined: "So, ride a yacht in front, drag an inflatable boat behind, and we lie on the inflatable while being towed across? The kind where waves could swamp us?"
Guan Yu: "Absolutely, I asked. The uncle says it’s only two hundred per person, and you can enjoy the extreme sea surface jump, ensuring you have a one-way... uh, ensuring you’ll have fun."
Mu Qiu frowned, her face drooped: "It costs money?!"
"And two hundred per person, we didn’t bring cash. Did you?" Shu Ran asked.
She fished out five hundred-yuan bills from her phone case, waving them in front of the two: "Only five hundred, one person has to jump off halfway."
Shu Ran & Guan Yu: "......"
Guan Yu immediately stood next to Mu Qiu: "Then only Shu Ran might have to wait for the others here."
Shu Ran removed her sunglasses, glaring: "Why do I have to wait?!"
"I was the first to arrive, Mu Qiu’s holding the money, and you neither have money nor were the first. Logically, you should stay. Relax, staying might even be a good thing; we’ll go scout ahead."
Shu Ran reached out to catch someone: "You’re dreaming."
Mu Qiu hurriedly withdrew her money and backed away, trying to shake off their hands: "Hey, hey, hey, don’t get physical! You’re choosing someone to go with me, so why grab me? How about you two have a fight, and then come to me with the outcome?!"
Amidst the tugging, her clothes were about to be torn open.
"Don’t move! Stop! There is another way!"
She shouted, separating the two and pushing them to either side.
"Don’t panic, if we don’t have enough money for the boat, can’t we think of another solution? Isn’t there a bridge? The show’s crew isn’t large now; can’t we hit the road, call a cab, and cross the bridge? I can’t believe a cab would cost five hundred!"
Guan Yu adjusted her floral shirt, saying, "What are you dreaming of? You can’t get across. Didn’t you see when the car came? This is just an enclosed sea park, typically only accessible with tickets. Once you’re in, the main gate closes. You really think the show’s crew is dumb."
Mu Qiu sighed silently, eyes closed.
"Then what? If everyone has to take this inflatable to get across, we need twelve hundred in cash. Besides my five hundred, we still need seven hundred for the remaining three. Who do you think among them would carry that much cash? Can’t we haggle?"
Shu Ran: "...I’ve never seen anyone haggling at an amusement park. Do you haggle when buying tickets at Happy Valley?"
"Buying tickets is preplanned, and they accept mobile payments there. Here it’s cash only, and we’re short on money, so what do we do?"
She tucked the five hundred yuan and nodded towards the stilted building: "Let’s go ask around. The sooner we leave, the less worry there is. Anyone who comes later without money can swim across."
Inside the stilted building sat two uncles, wearing straw hats and lounging on deck chairs. In front of them were long fishing poles fixed in place, with a foam box between them containing a few fish.
"They’ve set the price too high; business is so slow that the staff is bored, passing time by fishing," Guan Yu commented.
"Since it’s so dull, why not save some time and grab a few more customers? How about a hundred and fifty per person to pull us across?"
